  1. I love my PVP! She's WONDERFUL. And she knows everything...no really, everything! She thinks of things I wouldnt think of when I want to book, gives me recommendations, tells me ideas of things to do on islands that she's done before. And she NEVER calls me unless I call her first - there is no high pressure. She's been with Carnival for over 15 years and has even given me/all her clients her cell phone number (is this standard?) so we can call her afterhours if we have questions. :)

  2. The criteria for this is unbelievable random. I don't post often on this forum, but I checked 13 different people's VIFP account (family and friends) who have anywhere from 1-30 past Carnival cruises, in different states, some book suites, other interior, gamble, drink, shore excursions and no one received this offer. We just booked the Miracle out of LA today (5 cabins) and if we received this offer I would be booking immediately on another cruise. Does Carnival not realize that these promotions will be spread wide and far through social media and by making them completely random (though, does it really seem THAT random when so many people on this forum have received the offer, considering less than 1-2% of the total cruise population visits this site) they might alienate past cruisers?

Let's look at this logically for the VIFP number that received this offer:

    1) What state/location does everyone live that got this offer?

    2) What types of cabins does the person who received the offer book?

    3) Any gambling?

    4) How much is your sign and sail account when you end the cruise? (This might be telling)

There must be something that is triggering this promotion, as the numbers do not make sense to be "random".

    Good idea.

    Here's my info:

    1) Florida

    2) We've booked every category: Jr Suite, Suite, Balcony, Oceanview (which was booked as interior but upgraded) and interior.

    3) Gambled 2 nights on a 7 night cruise but that's it. Not extensive.

    4) 7 days on the Legend (w/o tips) SS came to less than $200.

  3. Right. But maybe the two of you are always booked in one together?? My husband and I are always booked in separate cabins; each of us with one of our sons (not that we stay in them in that configuration, of course). ;)

But who really knows the criteria, if any? I'm delighted to have the deal, that's for sure. We never are able to go when prices are low because of our kids' school schedules, so this is a great break for us.

Yep, you are right! We book in the same cabin. Our friends who traveled with us (the other four cabins) didn't receive the offer. I agree, I'm DELIGHTED too!:D

  4. I can not post any pictures here because I don't have any right now. But I just got off the glory 11/24/13. Very nice ship...I am sure you will enjoy it.

It does not have a water works....only the one twisty slide.

    No ropes course.

sorry I have no pics but if you have other questions I will try to help.

Thanks for the info! I wish it has waterworks...but that won't stop me from having fun! :D

  5. I read these letters about a free cruise..............and I am so glad my next reservation, after next month is on Princess.

Princess did have the free curise. But it was offered to everyone. It was one the web site. They were begging people to take them up on it.

Carnival picks winners and losers and won't talk about it. I called yesterday to see if there was something you signed up for...whatever..............After 100 + days of cursing after next month....plus taking my DD's family, always taking Carnival Tours, never complaining about anything but FTTF in all of these years, writing cheer leader reviews...........I was sent to the casino. While the lady on the phone was a dear, but she said only high rollers got hers and that was all she knew about. DH is a bit of a highroller and they are rating him and that is fine. If he gets it or not. If others spent more than him..they should get it.

But this just giving out cruises on who they like or don't like..who lives in whatever city..or how ever they do it...................makes me want to drop my dollars somewhere else. And I will. Sorry. I do feel that way and I bet others do too. There is no rhyme or reason to this..so it becomes a personal insult.

I am hacked off. Maybe I am mean spirited.

You are not mean-spirited. While I am delighted my husband received the offer, I think I would feel EXACTLY as you feel if I were a loyal customer and kept reading about someone ELSE getting free cruises from a company I'm loyal to. I guess we just got very lucky, and for that I am so grateful, but I also understand your disappointment. I'm so sorry.

Maybe my husband and I both got them because we book two cabins/suites for four people. I bet if it were just the two of us, only one of us would have gotten the offer.
Our last Carnival cruise we booked five cabins, one a suite and one a suite with a wrap around balcony (jr suite?). Only my husband received the offer...not me.
  6. What would you like pictures of? I just got off of her on Sunday and just did a mini review today. Let me know what you are looking for and I will see if I have a picture of it.
I was just hoping to see some of the common areas. Not sure why I can't really find many pictures of her. Do you remember if there was a Taste Bar? I've heard that's excellent.

Not sure what you're looking for, but here are some.
    Awesome...Thank you so much!
  7. Are you sure it's really from Carnival and not from one of the questionable agencies that aren't really what they claim? We've received 'free cruise' offers from RCI and Celebrity recently, both of which turned out to be scams when we Googled the agency name (that is only listed in the VERY fine print!). Make sure to read it all. The Princess free cruise offer was very well publicized and verified by many people, while your offer may not be what it claims.

Yep, what's weird for us is that I've been talking to our PVP a lot lately. We booked a weekend cruise for our anniversary, an October cruise with my family, and a cruise next year with my husband's family. So when I got this in the mail, I immediately called her and she knew all about it! In fact, she told me that the 8 days will count toward our platinum status since we upgraded and paid for the balcony. If we would've just claimed the free it wouldn't have gone toward our platinum status.

  8. Woohoo! We just got the offer in the mail today. We booked on the Breeze 8 day Southern Caribbean to La Ramona, Dominican Republic, Curacao, Aruba and Grand Turk. Upgraded to a cove balcony for $80 per person, total cost came to $348.50. This is one way to keep me a very loyal Carnival cruiser!:D

By the way, we do gamble in the casino, but not to an excess. We also drink, but not excessively. My PVP told me they picked random past guests who haven't cruised in a year or more. My husband was chosen, but I was not. Jokes on them, I'm going as his guest!:D:D:D

  9. i havent seen a whole lot of pictures posted of the glory, so im wondering if anyone has taken any recently. also wondering if there is waterworks on this ship...and are all waterworks the same? meaning, is there just a twist slide or the bucket/race slides/etc. also wondering if this ship has the ropes course.

sorry for all the questions - i searched but couldn't seem to find much info about the glory. and carnival's website is...well, confusing. for me, anyway.

    thanks everybody!

  10. Yes, you must close the shades at dusk if you have your cabin lights on, but that was no problem. All you do is push 2 buttons. We did raise the shades one night after dark to star gaze, but all of the cabin lights were off when we did.

So is that a rule that goes with this cabin? That you have to close the shades at dusk if you want lights on? Hmm...I've never heard of anything like this before so just wanted to clarify. Thanks! (Love the great pics BTW):)

  11. I am shocked by all the bad reviews. We sailed Jan 19th, the week before you. No buckets, No smells.

Everyone in our party loved the Sunshine and I would sail on her again in a heartbeat!

I'm thinking about taking a chance and booking on the Sunshine. Care to post where your cabin was? Thanks!:)

  12. call Carnival and ask them is easiest way.

Well I thought of that....But I'd prefer my husband not hear me. I'd rather he not know that I should have waited to book, and cost us an extra $100

IF you have not made final payment then you can get a price reduction no matter how you booked the cruise!

IF you are after final payment then you can only get a reduction if you booked early saver.

Yep, we're past final payment (I'm fairly certain anyway, because we booked so recently). We booked it about a week ago, leaving 28 Feb. I figured it wouldn't go any cheaper. Now I wish I would've waited. $100 is a lot of money.

  13. But I can't figure out if I had an Early Saver rate....I think that's the only rate that guarantees me the lowest rate (via refund/OBC), right? When I log into my Carnival account, I see my rate, but not what sort of code I purchased under- and I can't remember! Can anybody help me find the area I should look? Thanks!

  14. I'm trying to coordinate a family vacation and looks like the only time we're all available is Easter of next year. Someone is asking if there is any sort of mass/worship service on Easter cruises. Anybody know? Thanks!
