Our party of 7 is sailing on the POA in January 2018.
We are doing the 3 meal dining package and want to know which restaurant you think is best and which one you would not do again.
Thanks!

Any suggestions on the best thing to do in Kona that doesn't require a ship excursion?
Thanks!
-
Thank you.
There are 5 of us and the cost via Backcountry is $106 per person vs $189 per person via the cruise ship.
It would be cheaper to rent a car if we have too but would prefer to uber/lyft if that service is available in Kauai.

Has anyone walked from the pier to Kalapaki Beach?
Is it safe? Sidewalk available?
Cab/Uber/Lyft available instead of walking?
Any free shuttles to the Marriott?
Thanks for your help?

Our family wants to do the tubing adventure and the sign-in location is 4.4 miles from the pier.
Has anyone tried using Uber or Lyft to get from the pier to Backcountry Adventures office?
Has anyone done the tubing adventure? Your thoughts?
Thanks!

Thank you for your review! Going on this cruise in January 2018 and found out about Ricky from your post. Can you get the info on your wife's tubing tour?

Wish we would have known this when we were there last week. (Sun, July 23). We kept getting the runaround looking for an umbrella, and finally just gave up & threw our towels on the sand. I didn't last long that way....very windy, and the sand kept blowing in my face. Chose to just get up, walk, and get almost knee-deep in the water for about 30-45 minutes.
After giving up on the beach, we finally went to Tommy Bahama's restaurant in the "Stores of Wailea". THAT was a great decision. [it was connected to their clothing store]. Highly recommend the place if you want a decent lunch with a relaxed atmosphere.
Are you going to submit a review of your trip? Hope so!

which category of suite did you get?
se:)

There is a ton of info available about suite perks on NCL. Maybe start here:
https://www.ncl.com/why-cruise-norwegian/cruise-accommodations/cruise-suites-and-penthouses
Yes, you are correct! Thanks for the link!
The reason I was asking for help from Cruise Critic members is the fine print if you scroll all the way to the bottom of this page: Actual amenities vary by ship and category.
My category is SE (suite with large balcony).

Obviously an S category as the POA lacks a Haven...
SE cat

Does anyone have any information on the suite perks for first time cruisers on NCL?
Any info appreciated.
Thanks!

After searching, I finally found that you can rent an umbrella and two loungers for $30 from Aqualani (aqualianibeach.com) which has a stand in front of the Grand Wailea.
I am thinking this is probably the same outfit that NCL uses for its "beach club" excursion.

I called NCL yesterday and got the same vague description, and they told me all you got was transportation to the beach.

:)Thanks!

The cost for POA's beach day in Maui is $69 pp for adults.
Anyone been on this excursion? What's included?
Are we dropped off at a resort with loungers and umbrellas?

I ended up taking the ships beach break. They took us to Harbor Lights. Will do it on my own next time.

In Barbados tomorrow. Left planing to another family member and therefore have no plan. Best beach close to shop? First time in Barbados.Any response gratefully appreciated!

Thank you for your review. I'm not a fan of loud music, so I guess I need to rethink my GC plans. Did you hear of any other good places to do a beach day in GC?
-
Thank you for the review. Sounds like you had a good time!

My party of 7 is cruising in February 2015, I would like to get an update on the Royal Palms in the Grand Caymans. Anyone been there recently? Did you rent a cabana? Food/drink prices? Tell me about your day at the Royal Palms. Thanks!

Thanks for the replies! The 3 meal package is $69pp plus 18% gratuity. We got 4 included in the "Free at Sea" so I'm having to buy three more so we can all eat together. This will be the first cruise on NCL and the first cruise where we have purchased the specialty dining.
