We get a kettle when we cruise with other lines.. P&O, Princess, Celebrity, Azamara. I don’t want to bring my own kettle, just have one to use while I’m in the cabin. I think I might be concierge level, I never drink coffee and I don’t see that a kettle is more of a fire hazard than a coffee maker. I will probably ring room service if I don’t get a kettle.

Love the card! Im hoping that will be available over Christmas because I have told my hubby he can make me a birthday card on board. He has 6 days to achieve it! I have a small question, if you don’t mind cwn. Is there a kettle in the room? We like to be able to make a cup of tea and hope we don’t need to trot off to a bar/cafe every time. We are going to bring our own tea bags. Thank you.

Thanks Flossie009, I will give that a go. I’m also a bit twitchy about our flight now after hearing the news about strikes by airport staff. We fly the day after the strikes end, but who knows what the situation will be. Just going to go with the flow and live in hope.

I think we better have a try on weekend! We had to buy hubby new trousers a few years ago. Like you we used to enjoy ballroom dancing and were in peak condition! We don’t dance anymore so know how the body morphology modifies!

We have just opened the weekend section of our newspaper. Pages 2 and 3 are an ad for RSSC. There is a couple gazing fondly at one another in the photo…. He is wearing a suit!! It’s soft focus and I can’t decide if he has on a bow tie or if it’s just a shadow. decision made, we are taking the suit! Ha ha.

Thanks GeorgiaPeach, As I said in my reply to lprp we aren’t worried about the weight of our luggage and we have lots to celebrate so I think we might just throw it in along with a stripey cotton blazer. I have some sparkly dresses, more cocktail style than full evening dress, but I think they will be fine. Safe travels home, please let us know when you get there!

Thanks for that LP, We are on Splendour. We watched a repeat of the prog on channel 5 last night about “The world’s most expensive cruise ship”. We were trying to spot djs and they did seem to be in short supply. However, we like to dress up a bit, we will be celebrating Christmas, my birthday and new year on this cruise so I am thinking what the hell! We have business class flight so great luggage allowance. Enjoy your cruise!

I have one final question for you GeorgiaPeach, We are cruising over Christmas. Should my husband take his dinner suit/tuxedo? We are thinking yes, but maybe white jacket. Please chime in with advice. Thank you.

I have nothing and I’m sailing over Christmas! Maybe we will get them at our Miami hotel? We booked through a big U.K. cruise company, I rang them to ask about our documents and they are mailing them next week. With the postal strikes I hope they do it sooner rather than later.

See you on board! We leave in 2 weeks and 2 days. And yes, I’d love to see the home made gourmet dinners and afternoon teas. Maybe a re run of the recipes you learned in your cookery class, GeorgiaPeach!

Hey Techno, Sorted out my renewal. The first set of documents said I had to pay £50 more this year. One quick call and I’m now paying £6 less this year!! Apologies to GeorgiaPeach for crashing in on the holiday news, I was just so chuffed to get this deal I wanted to spread the word.

I’m all checked in for my cruise next month. Used my iPad and now have my boarding passes printed out. No luggage tags yet but maybe my TA will have them for me. I’m not too worried cos they always have them available at the port. I’m hoping they take photos when we arrive. My head wasn’t properly in that circle!! Keep up the good work GeorgiaPeach, hope you have lots of prize points by now.

You are definitely getting us in the mood GeorgiaPeach! Sunday brunch, brownie afternoon tea… so many options, only one stomach! I am re thinking the wardrobe to include more elastic aged waists! Ha ha. I’m pleased to hear the staff are so attentive and friendly. We found that to be the case on our recent Oceania cruise, not so much on Cunard. Wishing you a big win at the casino tonight!

I’m not sure that you will be able to combine the Edinburgh tattoo and the northern lights. The tattoo is in August and it will still be very light at night in more northern ports, also not so cold. But the tattoo is a fantastic show! Worth booking 2 cruises to achieve it and then later on the northern lights. I am looking forward to the scavenger hunt. We did one on a recent Sirena cruise and it had us roaming all over the ship! Keep enjoying yourselves.

Thank you very much for posting the info about fitness classes. I will avoid the indoor cycling but will try to attend lots of the other classes. Well done on your culinary class, the results looked terrific.

Those “hardy souls” will be the Brits, delighted to be escaping the wind and rain at home! Really enjoying the daily updates, thank you. I have one small query for you. Are there any fitness classes? I’m hoping to have some sort of aerobic class, Pilates, yoga… Thanks for any info and thanks for taking the time to report on your experiences.

Thanks for adding the daily info. We have our first RSSC next month and I was really pleased to see such a range of activities. We will enjoy the lectures, crafts, quizzes and music. It will be my birthday during the cruise so I hope I get a lovely cake like your hubby did. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!

Thanks for starting your report, Joanie, We have our first Regent cruise over Christmas and New Year. Just over a month to wait now. We are taking decorations for our cabin so none going up at home. Looking forward to following along with your journey.
