  1. Well, I still do.  It's just a poster that has pictures of the destination we are going to with a caption. I put my cruise critic name on it .  I love making our door sign, I scrapbook so if un getting created.  I

The sign also helps me find my room also 😅 There use to be a forum on here where people would show a picture of their door signs. Also the cruise critic "Meet & Mingle" door sign was way more cuter than the one they have now.

I did an online check-in for our upcoming cruise and selected arrival time of 9 - 9:30 AM. Somewhere in the edocs that I downloaded said boarding time is 12 noon. I get it that we won't be on the ship around 9:30 but is there a realistic time we will be on the ship as a non-suite first time cruisers on NCL ship?

I believe your check in time is actually 12 noon.  When I did my check in, I had selected 9-9:30 but the time I had gotten myself and my friend check in, our time was now 11 to 11:30am and that is the time that is printed on my eDocs.

Even though no one replied to this thread, I'm going to update:

The Points itself last 18 months.

Those are the points that you can convert to freeplay/ obc.

So you need to play at least once every 18 months to keep those points.

I wonder if you had an NCL credit card and made purchases, would that keep the points active?  A lot of the big casinos like Caesars Entertainment, MGM do that.

Hi I searched via search engine on here but couldn’t find an answer

I’m new to NCL and can’t login on their website but I can login on their app.

I keep getting a “login or password is incorrect” message even after I’ve done the “username reminder email” and “reset password email” it won’t accept the username it’s reminding me I have 🤔

I’m very used to MSC’s horrid website but didn’t expect it from NCL

Is it just me or is everyone having a problem logging in on their site this morning?

Contact the "Tech Support" their number is 1-866-625-1160.  I was having problems with their site.  Was on hold for only about 3 minutes and they fixed everything.

We go in 16 days and I have been emailing them for weeks with zero response.
I can see we will have to cancel ours at this rate.

I used the correct email and got an auto reply on the first mailing.

That's odd.  My sailing on the Bliss on April 10th (12 days away) we have been confirmed that our G&M will be on the 11th in the Cagney's Steakhouse from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.  We were told Officers would attend.

Video on the Norwegian Escape page of the captain on the ship's intercom announcing the ship will be debarking passengers over the next couple days and getting them home. We were supposed to be on that cruise, glad we didn't go, I cannot fly. No idea what the heck they would have done with me, but my eardrums cannot take altitude

There are some numbing ear drops that are available for prescription only.  They work awesome.  My eardrums couldn't take the stabbing pain while flying it was horrible, it would just come right on and cause me to scream.  My sister was flying with me and told me to "stop screaming" and I told her I couldn't help it.  I'm not one to attack attention to myself but it was so, so painful.  I told my doctor about it and he told me about these ear drops.  SO.....the next time I had to fly again I got them.  I was still so scared they were not going to work or they would make me feel weird with a numb eardrum.  I put the drops in reluctantly and they WORKED!!   I can't remember the name of them and the doctor who I was seeing at that time had passed away.  I ask my new doctor for a prescription and he gave me Claritin instead???  I have no know allergies and Claritin takes a few weeks to really give you any results.  I took it and it worked also but it may me think "was my ears congested" that first time?  I never want to feel that pain again.

This is important to consider.  My Chase Sapphire Reserve gives me 3% back on travel, which an NCL charge counts as.  So it's a wash, except you can redeem those points for travel through Chase and they're 1.5x multiplied.

The other option, if you gamble at a higher level, is to establish a line of credit.  That's $5K minimum, though you don't have to ADVANCE $5K.  Just nice to have.  And perhaps I'm imagining things, but I find I got more attention after I established my line than before.  There were only 2-3 others on my cruise with a line, so they knew us (or at least me!)

So if I was in the casino and needed more  money to play, I could charge it to my cabin and my travel credit card or Discover etc. that I have on my account would cover it?

I'm wondering if there's anything I can do here?  Pre-COVID, I booked my family for a June 2020 Norwegian sailing to Alaska. It was cancelled obviously, and I was issued future cruise credits. I eventually applied the FCCs to a cruise that departs June 9, 2022.

NCL requires full vaccinations (a good thing I think!), and my son is 4. It's become clear that under-5 vaccinations won't be available until mid-April at the very earliest, not enough time for him to be fully vaccinated with 3 shots by June.

NCL is allowing cancellations for this circumstance (see here).  BUT upon cancellation, the future cruise credits will simply be credited back to my account, and they expire MONDAY and need to be used on a cruise departing by December 31, 2022. This means I can't use them! I won't be able to use them over the summer, and then my kid will be in school beginning in the fall. (And sailings to Alaska are unavailable over winter break when he's out of school).

Any advice? (I'm trying to light them up on Twitter, but I don't have a ton of reach.)

Well, now  under 5 will be allowed to cruise unvaccinated.  They will limit thee amount of unvaccinated children to 5%

I've always booked directly with the NCL website.   However they keep giving me an error and I tried using a travel website and the price was much less.  My question for those who have used other sites or travel agents is, once you book can you see your reservation on the NCL site?  Can you book excursions and extras as usual?  Can you bid on upgrades?  Do you get points?

Thank you in advance.  I'm really excited to get back to cruising!!

Yes to everything...except for upgrading, which is a “maybe”. Not all 3rd party travel agencies participate in the upgrade advantage program.

When booking with a travel agent (not ncl directly) I only see my reservation on NCL's site, once the cruise is paid in full.  Then I can book my excursions and shows.

  10. My brother in law had a heart attack on the Panama canal cruise.  The evening before them arriving in Panama is when he had the heart attack.  The ship's doctor was able to revive him after shocking him with the paddles and medication.  Because his vitals were pretty stable the doctor felt he was stable enough to stay on board until the morning and they would take him to the hospital by ambulance.  The staff was very helpful, helped my sister pack up their things the night before, arrange for a hotel for her and stayed in contact everyday with her.  He end up having a stent procedure and their was some other issue going on, so his stay was over 10 days.  They gave him copies and CD's of every procedure they did.  They did have the Travel Insurance and a credit card to cover his hospital bill.  All and all everything turned out OK but it did take about 9 months for him to get reimbursed from his Travel Insurance he had bought from the cruise line. (He was on a different cruise line)

We also aren't really concerned about the cost of the cruise, but of the real catastrophic stuff, like medical evacuation.  Is that what your coverage covers, just emergency medical stuff?  Not the smaller potatoes, like lost luggage, etc etc etc

That's the coverage I want.  Cruise is already paid for, so what is done is done.  I just want to make sure my medical is covered if that "big one ever comes, when I'm on a cruise ship".

  12. I was wondering if I could put my diet cranberry juice, 6 of them that are 10oz each in my check in luggage.  I trying to avoid bringing a carry on, and a purse on board and these little bottles makes my back pack so heavy along with the camera, meds and other things I need to carry on.  Has anyone put their beverages in their check in luggage?  We use to years ago but, I guess things have changed.

Thanks. She is confused as her boarding info only states proof of vaccinated. Thanks

I can see where some may get confused about needing to be tested before the cruise.  I also questioned it but then seen they were talking about 12 yrs old and older that were vaccinated had to follow the adult protocols. That whole statement kind of runs together but if you look at the adult protocols it states we do need to tested within 2 days of the cruise.

  14. I was just wondering.......both my daughters work for private physicians.  They do the Rapid test in their office for their patients.  When the test results come in, the doctor writes it on a prescription pad, signs it and gives it to the patient.  (they may write down their medical license number on it) I was wondering if this would be acceptable for RCI

No problem, it can be a bit confusing.  The Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach are two separate ports, separated by Terminal Island.  NCL sails out of L.A., which is San Pedro.  The Port of L.A./San Pedro Cruise Terminal is right off the 110, right before you cross over to Long Beach (via Terminal Island) on the Vincent Thomas Bridge.  If you're coming by taxi or shuttle, they'll know where to go.  If you have any questions about the area, I'd be happy to help!  😊 We're sailing the week after you.

Los Angeles (Long Beach, California) cruise port map (printable)

This map is crazy 🙂  I live in Long Beach and San Pedro is to my left.

which land-based casino brand is the certificate from? most casinos offer their players discounts on purchased cruises. for caesars entertainment, for instance, the discount runs from 5% to 30% depending on the cabin class booked and the player's tier level. and that is generally on top of whatever discounts or "free at sea" offers are in place.

While land base casinos do offer a discounts for cruises, these are actually a "Free Cruise Voucher" from NCL's "Casino at Sea", given out by a land base casino (depending on your level of play).  They are usually for a 7 day cruise (NCL) with a free cabin.  All you pay is the tax & port fees along with an administrative fee.  You can upgrade if you want for a charge and add on some of their packages.  I have gotten and used them from Caesars, Golden Nugget (LV) and the Tropicana in Laughlin which is a Caesars property now.  You also get free alcohol & non alcohol drinks while playing in the casino. And........if you are booking your cruise with the voucher during a "promotion",  you also get those benefits, like free Beverage and Dinning pkgs. Buy their Air and the second passenger flies free.  You can't beat it.  I truly believe that NCL's Casino at Sea is the best program out there compared to other cruise lines.

I am booked for air with NCL for November, 2021.  I got fabulous flights, going with Delta, coming back with American.   Couldn't have done any better if I booked myself.  Totally satisified.

Hi.  I just booked my air with NCL today and they told me that I would not get my flight info until 45 days of cruise.  Hopefully you will hear soon from them.

  18. Which airport is closer to the LA Port - Long Beach Airport or LAX?

They're about the same distance. LAX is a straight get away on the 110 freeway from the airport. Takes about 20 minutes once on the freeway. Long Beach airport you would get on the 405 freeway to the 110 to get to the pier or you could use the streets which would take longer due to all the traffic lights. I live in Long Beach not far from the Long Beach airport and it takes me at least 20 to 25 minutes to get to the Port of LA, which is in San Pedro.
