  1. i received a free cruise from Rivers Casino in Des Plaines Ill. I have to pay port & tax fees. did anyone else get this, also does anyone know what else you get - i heard that a welcome party is also given - any info??

When I received my free NCL cruise from Harrahs, we to had to pay taxes & port fees. Most of the free cruise's are for inside cabins but they do offer you to upgrade. By upgrading, say to a balcony they give you more time to pay the tax & port fees. They did give me and my cabin mate a "free drink card" alcohol, soda what ever you want but can only be used in the casino on the ship.

  2. We enjoyed hearing the husband/wife team of Arvin and Emily on the Spirit in 2010. Believe they may have been from the Phillipines. They were fantastic. One of the nights they sang Neil Diamond and Barbara Streisand tunes in one of the lounges and did a great job.

I also agree with you on Arvin and Emily. We saw them on the Spirit in Feb 2012. We started feeling like "groupies" following them each night they performed. Out of our 15 cruises from various cruise lines, I think they were the best we had ever seen.

  3. Not sure if that is correct, We usually book a balcony with an interior room for the kids across the hole way from us and we got the same color keys one cruise and different colors for the same cabin last year.

I also believe that is incorrect, only because I lost my card (twice) and received a different color both times.

  4. Hi Yes the Cards will be in your room waiting for you.....We booked our first NCL cruise last year with the Free Harrahs offer as well and the Free Drink Card and Casino at Seas card was in the room along with some Chocolate Covered Strawberries...Plus Cheese and Cookies brought up the rest of the week and one Free Bottle of Wine....:D

Now for our Second NCL Cruise this coming May to Alaska, I called CAS Direct and booked it with a Great Rate...Plus they said once again We'll have the Free Drink Card....

We Love to Gamble and have quite a few drinks through out the week in the Casino and last year Saved Over $500 by weeks end....

    Have Fun and GOOD LUCK!!!!:D

Thanks for the quick reply LaCal. I have one more question if you don't mind. When I went to Vegas to pick up my cruise voucher, they had a special that weekend, to bring a friend, who was a Total Reward Player and their name would be put in a drum and they would have a chance to win a free cruise. Well, I brought my sister and she was notified by mail that her name was drawn. She got her own letter from Casino at Sea with the same offer I had, and booked a cruise with them. Do you think she will also get the same perks?

  5. Yes, you should both have players cards and drink cards waiting for you.

Unless you're booked in a penthouse suite or higher, you will not get the suite perks such as breakfast and lunch in Cagneys.

Your main benefit, at first, will be the drink card. You'll probably also get some little treats (chocolates, little snacks) in your cabin in the evening from the CAS people. If you play enough, they'll probably offer you a comp'd dinner in one of the restaurants, or a comp'd spa treatment, or send a bottle of wine up to your room.

Don't forget to "cash in" your CAS points on the last night of the cruise. Listen for the announcements in the casino about this; if you have enough points you go to the casino services desk on the last night and they will look at your play and offer you some credit against your final on-board bill.

    Hello Video Tech

I have a question for you. We got an offer from Harrah's for a free cruise from Casino at Sea. The cruise certificate was from Casino at Sea. We had to book through Casino at Sea, but when we made the phone call (from the number they gave us) it was actually NCL reservation. On our Welcome aboard packet, it states our Travel Professional is Casino Caesars Entertainment. So my question is, do we also get the "free drink card"?and priority embarking? Thanks in advance for your reply.

  6. I just wanted to say THANK YOU!!! We printed this out and followed it down the Mississippi..It was Awesome to do..Thanks again!!!!

WOW, I would also like to thank you for this list. We will be sailing out of New Orleans of the 12th of Feb. I was wondering how long it would take us to cruise down the Mississippi River. Thank you again for all your effort, this is totally awesome!

  7. Hello all!

My brother and sister-in-law are joining my husband and I on a Royal Caribbean cruise next month leaving Puerto Rico and visiting Barbados, St. Lucia, Antigua, St. Maarten and St. Croix. (We are leaving from Boston, MA)

The problem is this. My brother is not able to obtain a passport because of outstanding child support. He currently pays his support and continues to make payments to his previous outstanding obligation. But because it is over $2,500 he is not able to obtain a passport.

He has a driver's license and a government issued birth certificate but is there any reason he could be denied boarding? Or entering and exiting the ports? Will he have any problems?

He visited St. Thomas 2 years ago and had no problems but obviously this is a bit different and I just want to make sure there won't be a problem!

Same thing happened to my brother in law. Got behind in child support due to any injury and was disabled. During that time he was recovering he racked up the arrears. The interest rate in Calif. for this is sky high. He pays a small amount from his disability check (child is now 39 yrs old) but because the amount is over $2500 he is unable to get a passport. He has no problem doing a close-loop cruise, and he cruises yearly. All he needs is his State ID and his BC. Your brother-in-law will be leaving and returning to the same US port. BTW, my-brother-in law did the So. Caribbean cruise, sailed out of Miami, but visited the same ports you mentioned.
