  1. If I try to book one cabin, I can see the edit buttons, but if you try to book more than one cabin, the site gives you 4 choices, like a suite and a balcony on one deck, or two balconies on another deck, etc. The edit button to choose your own deck and cabins isn't available when booking more than one!

    It's so frustrating!

  2. Make sure you really know the friend that goes. We took a girl who was good friends with my niece and my son (they were both on the cruise also) who has been to our house and my sister's house numerous times. She has been to numerous family functions with our whole family. She was awful. She would sit in the room and pout if she didn't get her way. Then she would leave out of the room without telling anyone where she was going. She was rude to my son and my niece, etc.

She got quite a few stern lectures. She never said thank you, she didn't pay a penny to go on this trip, nor did her family. (We invited her because my husband wasn't able to go, and we didn't expect payment from her or her family, just pointing out the fact that she was on a FREE cruise and was very ungrateful and rude to the people that wanted her to go).

No one in her family even gave her a few dollars to buy a souvenir. I bought souvenirs for her in port.

I would take friends of my kids again, but definitely not her.

  3. Yes. I'm trying to book two cabins and can't choose any balcony except a cove balcony or a balcony on deck 7 and a suite. If I switch back to just one cabin, I can choose any balcony type, but only on deck 6. I know they have deck 7 available from trying to do 2 rooms, lol.

I dislike their new booking engine.

  4. Most RX coverage can be tailored to the particular prescriptions you are most likely to need. There are very few not covered at all.

Sorry but you are wrong. We have page after page in our prescription drug list booklet from our insurance company that are not covered. The list gets longer year after year.

  5. I stick up on retin-a. Been using it for years and my insurance will no longer cover it. I will also stock up on restasis if I can find it. Once again, prescribed my doctor, but my insurance stopped covering it.

I don't think insurance companies should be able to dictate, or stop covering, meds my doctor prescribes me.

  6. I will add my 2 cents on the hypnosis show as requested, if anyone cares, but wanted to say something 1st. I noticed that now my real name has been assigned to me (lol) and I am no longer just "thrilled' and I just wanted to let anyone who is interested know something now that you see that we've become more than just internet friends. Prior to this cruise I knew 'Mitsugirly' by a method similarly to you all (online/computer convos). I will tell you that (just as the "Ma'ams and other cruising friends) I am a witness to and fully corroborate Kim's story that she has a "goofy" family that is all about fun and rolls with the flow and just makes the most of her vacation! I think if you look back on this day in Aruba you will see what I am saying for sure. There are many people who will take the little things that add up during a day's time and then determine that it wasn't a good day. Not Kim! And not me.....a reason why we clicked so well :D. Aruba was wonderful!

Aruba: 1. Couldn't find each other as planned when getting off of the ship and didn't know whether to take the bus or taxi 2. Couldn't get Aruba sign pic (big deal for a planner and photographer like Kim) 3. Camera battery dies while snorkeling! (HUGE deal) 4. Some new friend stuck 11 year old child with equipment issues on her while attempting to snorkel so that she couldn't fully focus on snorkeling Aruban waters 5. Prepaid chairs and umbrellas were snatched from under her in the blink of an eye 6. Little boy has somewhat of a hissy fit because of lost toy truck in the sand 7. Potentially stranded on remote Aruban beach because we were too busy chatting to be concerned about how were getting back to port (but thankful that the random Aruban blue eyed, blonde haired teens.... that weighed the same as I weighed at age 9 and should really not have been allowed out on the beach alone after sunset without a chaperone, that said that buses don't come there at night...were wrong. JK, sortof :P) 8. Still not getting Aruba sign pic on the return trip after counting on it 9. Coming back to port to a line of people waiting to get back on the ship even though it was nowhere near all-aboard time 10. Starving and then finding sub-par food, some of which was left over from the night before (I have to inject here that this is why we went to the MDR instead lol), etc.

All of that and she STILL didn't hesitate to find the beauty and the fun of the day, which is reflected in this review!! So many other people would have focused on the negatives :(. To the contrary, she wants to plan a land vacation in Aruba because it was such an awesome day and the island is so beautiful! I love that nothing phased her, and Sam didn't care or know enough about any "plans" to know any different so in his mind almost everything was going as smoothly as expected (gotta love well trained hubbys ). I do land vacays more than cruises and I lived in St Maarten for a few years after many land vacays there and, I agree! I want a land vacay in Aruba....but only after a longer land vacay in Curacao which has now beaten St Maarten as my (and my kids') favorite Caribbean island!

And FYI Kim: I think you were holding back for fear of offending me (but I know and accept how I am) and I appreciate it but I know that you said that you think Kendra and I would cruise together well.....I'm pretty sure that people have grasped that from the number of times that you have mentioned looking for me and the kids and we were running late or nowhere to be found (I'm blaming that on the fact that I was raised on CPT, for those that live under a rock...that's "Colored Peoples Time"). I am not offended and next time we cruise together, you are welcome to say what you really are thinking as we run on CPT, lol.

I'm interested in your thought (or 2 cents) on the hypnosis!! Please, please, please!

I just read your post 3 times wondering if I missed it, lol.

  7. We are booked on the Breeze in June and my husband might not be able to go due to work.

I called my pvp who said to let him be a 'no show' instead of canceling. He said we would be refunded our port fees/taxes and prepaid gratuities.

(We did not purchase insurance, but my husband is the 3rd person booked in a balcony, so his rate of $179, is all we would lose.)

Pvp said he was worried that they would reconfigure the rate for the two other guests in the cabin and we would owe more or move us to a cabin that sleeps 2. We have other family in the cabin next door and we can open our balcony partitions, so we don't want to move.

So how does that work? When we check in, do I tell them he's not coming? What about our steakhouse reservations that are under his name?

We are still hoping for the best right now, but I want to be prepared in case he can't go.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

  8. Sakari is getting so grown!

Congrats to all if you in the new addition to the family!

Off topic, how are your eyes doing? A few cruises ago, you were having issues after having PRK done. How is it now?

I had lasik almost 6 years ago and need a slight enhancement to my right eye. Original surgeon wants to do PRK, but another surgeon (one of the top ones around here) told me he could and would relift the flap and redo the lasik.

I'm hesitant on the PRK because if what you went through...plus I've read about tons of pain and blurry vision for months!!

Would have gone the lasik route instead of PRK if you could have?

  9. I have a few that were purchased years ago and mine are still in perfect condition. I have pandora and chamilia bracelets and charms also and they are all interchangeable and you can't tell the difference between any of them!

    OP, sorry yours sucked.

  10. We rarely eat in the MDR, we prefer the buffet, deli and sometimes just have pizza. Our last 7 night cruise we ate in the MDR twice (both formal nights), while my kids went 2 other nights because they wanted to try certain stuff on the menu those nights. They are 22 and 14. My 22 year old enjoyed ordering a glass of wine with her dinner, lol.

We've always found the buffet has a nice variety and we love the salad bar.
