Sailing in a month.
First time with UBP.
What’s your favorite specialty drinks to order on NCL? I’m seeing multiple pina colada’s in my future.

Thank you for sharing your review. How was the entertainment on board?
My wife and I were on this cruise as well. We saw Burn the Floor; Priscilla, Queen of the Desert; and the Epic Beatles in the Cavern Club. The entertainment was great. If you go to see the Epic Beatles in the Cavern Club I suggest you get there at least an hour before, or you'll have trouble getting a seat. It's not that big of a venue, and the couches and chairs take up a lot of room. We didn't see the comedy act...

Sorry, we’re sailing on the norweigen getaway, feb 1
Spice H20 is adult only during the day, but it doesn't have a pool. It does have two hot tubs. It's aft on Deck 16

Are drinks on the private island also included with the beverage package?

On GSC yes, but on Harvest Caye it's a no.

The Cruise Norwegian phone app (purportedly an upgrade to the I-concierge app) has been out for a few weeks now. Currently it is advertised as being available for the Norwegian Sun. Has anyone here had experience with this yet?
NCL website says currently on the Norwegian Sky. Coming soon to the Bliss...

We had a group of 16 on Escape February 2017. Usually, they would put us at two tables of eight each. In La Cucina they were able to seat us all at one long table section. We only did this for the specialty dining restaurants. This was accomplished well in advance.

Thank you ! I have been reading Escape & Haven reviews and I'm so excited we get the opportunity to experience it. My hubby doesn't know and so far I'm able to keep the secret. Can't wait until Saturday. Did you mind being so far away from the Haven. We are on deck 10 so quite aways. But the room and balcony look so nice. And I figure the exercise might help me with all the food and drink I will have. :)
Remember to use the Waterfront to traverse from the back to the front of the ship (Deck 8 is nice). It won't get you all the way there, but it'll avoid the most congested and noisy areas.

Looking at the Epic, deck 10 cabins 9081 to 9101 (for example), it appears that every other cabin is a different category. One cabin is a MD the next a MC the next a MD the next a MC and so on and so on.
What is the difference? Can't be location since it is every other cabin and I can't figure it out. The reason I ask is because a MC is running $100 more than and MD, what makes it worth $100pp more?
HELP! Driving me batty
:confused::mad:
I did a mock booking of MC and MD and the main difference seems to be the MC has a bathtub and shower, where the MD just has a shower. It also looks like all the bathtub cabins have the bed near the balcony, probably due to the extra room the tub takes up near the cabin door. When you click on the cabin # while doing the mock booking you can click on "View More", which shows a full description of what's in the cabin.

where can I find a printable epic deck plan?
Try this site. It allows you to download a PDF file that you can print out. You'll also find multiple pictures of cabins and such around each deck.

As others have mentioned, it starts with the Freestyle experience for me. I'm on vacation and I don't want to have to wear a suit!

I have looked at cruisett.com in the past to see how many cruise ships will be in port the same time my cruise is but I don't think this has the port changes. Any other good site?
Thanks,
Here's another one, although I'm not sure if it has the latest changes.

Just booked my 1st NCL cruise on Epic. I know I want to eat 3 times at speciality restaurants so the SDP makes sense. But how does it work with A la carte restaurants like Cagney's
Here's some more helpful information:

Does NCL dock at Mahogany Bay? Apparently there is another option of maybe docking downtown? I was there last year with HAL and they docked at Mahogany Bay. Thanks
This is a nice link. It shows ports all around the world, and what ships will be in that port on a particular day.

Other lines (primarily celebrity and royal) bump you up to highest level status for the duration of your cruise if sailing in premium suites. Does anyone know if NCL does this for their passengers? This is our first time sailing Norwegian.
Just to clarify, are you in the Haven or a Villa? Which ship are you on?
-
Currently in a mini-suite. There are four of us - do you know how the sleeping arrangements are? Pullman anywhere? 2 kids in sofa bed and 2 adults in bedroom? (Or vice versa since the balcony is off living room!)
Which ship are you talking about?
-
Going to be on the Breakaway and was wondering how well the texting part of the app worked? Also is it free?
Make sure you download the app prior to sailing. We used it on the Escape in February, and it was nice to have. The app seemed to hang a couple times, but we just closed it out and restarted it and it worked fine.

Does anyone know what the specialty service fee charged for specialty restaurants?
From the Specialty Dining Terms and Conditions page:
ARE GRATUITIES INCLUDED IN THE SPECIALTY DINING PACKAGE PURCHASE PRICE?
No, an 18% gratuity and specialty service charge will be automatically added to the cost of your package.

I REALLY hope they do not. Wrist bands are a PITA for a one night concert etc let alone for a week long (or longer) cruise. Is it really all that hard to have your key card with you?
Just to be clear, I believe the OP is referring to a wristband similar to the Disney World MagicBands. Not the paper kind they put around your wrist when you attend a concert.

Which ship should i go on??
Norwegian Bliss
Carnival Horizon
Royal Caribbean Symphony of the Seas
I would be only getting a balcony and wanna do a nice, new mega ship
Thanks all in advance
Depends on what itinerary, costs, and promos interest you the most. Others may be able to comment on ships, but with the Bliss still being built I'm not sure how you get a true comparison.

Wow I always buy the dining package when I travel on NCL. I just went to go purchase it and where I can use it on the Escape, and guess what, it can only be used at Moderno and Teppanyaki! Every other place is al la carte!
What am I missing? I have always just booked them with my package. Is there an upcharge for Cagneys now?
Also the supper club show for $34.95 has no info as to what type of entertainment:mad:

It's official our group just booked our first NCL cruise. :D The special they're running w/ all the freebies tempted us to hop from Celebrity and give NCL a try!
I have a bunch of questions and figured it might be easier to just post them in one post vs. five or six separate threads
We got the Unlimited Beverage Package as well as the Specialty Dining Package when we booked...Are water bottles covered under this?
In regards to the Specialty Dining Package coming from Celebrity their Specialty Dining is an all inclusive (pay one price get pretty much anything on the menu) I notice that the pricing is a la carte at NCL restaurants how does that work w/ the package?
Also I've kinda skimmed through some reviews and there seems to be a familiar theme of the specialty restaurants being booked or booking up super quick...is it possible to book them in advance when you have the dining package? On Celebrity you could only book in advance if you paid the price up front... which was inconvenient especially if you had a free dinner coupon or obc.
Can shows be booked in advance? Is that suggested?
Can someone explain a little bit how the dining on NCL works? I know its freestyle but some of the reviews I've skimmed thru mentioned buffet closing at certain times (buffet on Celebrity pretty much had something on it 24/7), needing reservations or having to wait to get into certain venues (irish pub, free Chinese food place, etc) this will be a completely different cruising style for us. We're used to dining room or specialty restaurant for most meals otherwise it was the buffet.
Where can I find info on Great Stirrup Cay? It will be one of the stops on our sailing, from what I understand it is NCL's private island which none of us have ever been too.
We will have kids on our sailing does anyone know the ages they have to be in order to sign themselves in and out?
Here's some info on how the specialty dining package works with the various restaurants:

We are booked for October 21!! My 2nd trip on the Escape. Fabulous ship. We choose the UBP for our free promo. When I spoke to NCL I was told that the 3rd guest will also have the package and that we didn't have to pay extra for her. I've called 2x to be sure and was told that all 3 of us have the package. Just wondering if anyone else had 3 to a cabin with the promo.

There are promos on some cruises that provide a Free at Sea (with Free Extra Guests Choice). Perhaps this is the special that covers the third person. If you look at the booking for your cruise you'll see this is offered. If you point to it, it'll give a brief description.

If you do go with a 2 bdr suite, you'll have 2 bathrooms which might be a nice advantage.
