  1. I would like to hear recent experiences on Sky Princess cruise ship. Princess is my favorite overall & I have been on 25 + on several lines. Just recently the Reflection, not a good experience at all. I really dislike having music blaring all day everywhere & music the young DJ loves. Thanks

Much is speculation.  Maybe if you told us which cruise you were considering, it would let us know how much time you had to process your passport.  Is the cruise next month or next year?

Are you a born American or a naturalized American?

Is it a closed loop or international?

it is closed loop, from FLL,yes bc USA

  3. Do I need a marriage certificate & also first marriage divorce decree with birth certificate & DL to get onboard? I have never cruised without a passport, but with delays have no idea when I will get it. I am in planning process, have not booked yet.

We are worried about all the Southwest cancellations, we are flying to Miami on Tuesday January 4 for our cruise on Wednesday. We are afraid our flight might get cancelled last minute. We would still have time to drive, but they would have our luggage. Not sure if we should try renting a car to drive down and fly back, or just drive our own car, Not worried about the drive down, just not sure we want to drive back after our cruise.

Little off topic, I had to run to Orlando MCO airport today to drop someone off as well as look for my SIL's bags that went missing almost a week ago.

While there, I noticed quite a few labeled "Cruise" and day the bags arrived.

Meaning, many are onboard ships with nothing....

So awful. That is my fear,so I am canceling southwest & will be driving 2 days. Not happy ,I want a refund not a voucher from them .

I would also suggest doing carry-on luggage for your cruise. DH and I have done it many times, including trips that were 2+ weeks long.  You can do it!

Am planning on doing that next week, hope my luggage fits on the belt,I was told a 24x16 would.Doyou happen to know?

We have same issue in MD also & deciding to cancel my flight since I would not have enough time to drive if they wait, it's 17 hours with traffic could be 24.

I am pretty sure I know the answer, but thought I would see what the professionals have to say.

My husband and I are in Miami, FL and ready to board the Insignia on December 28th, but my dad was taken to the hospital for what might be a small stroke. His brother and my mom are with him. Tests are being run, etc.

If I need to cancel our cruise, will we just be out our whole cruise fare? Probably yes, I am guessing….

Has anyone had this happen? We did not take out insurance, and I don’t know if travel insurance would cover something like this. If anyone has experience with travel insurance for medical emergencies for family members, it would be great to hear about your experiences (for next time).

I never travel without the ins.& I've been on about 30 cruises only had to use it once.I think it's worth it since it's not very much for piece of mind, otherwise you do lose all your money.

Those who are unwilling to volunteer proof at the port will only be allowed to board if there is available room in the 5% unvaccinated pool.  Otherwise, they would be denied boarding.  The calls/emails sent out by Celebrity in advance of sailing will allow them to keep their unvaccinated pool at 5% or less as required by the CDC.  Folks who say they are vaccinated and then refuse to show proof at the port may be out of luck.

Shoudn't they check when you book your cruise instead of before you get to boarding if you are not vaccinated?

I’m dumbfounded‼️.  We have met so many nice, friendly, helpful, upbeat & trusting  cruisers on our Celebrity sailings.
They have allowed us in their cabins on cabin crawls, joined us and other strangers on excursions or in transfers from hotels to the port, handed us their camera to take their pictures or watch their valueables  while they snorkel, gave  us their address and phone numbers, invited to their homes when we travel & have stayed at our home..  Now 2 cruisers who had no symptoms test positive and many think they falsified their documents, a crime if I’m not mistaken.
Sad commentary on what I though I was a good community of cruisers.

The vaccine is not 100%.I would be surprised if someone wanted to cruise bad enough to provide a false document .MSC does not require a vaccination.

I realize that the OP has real concerns regarding a “possible “ allergic reaction to a Covid vaccine but would add the following Caveats.
    1. As others have noted, the methodology involved in the development of these vaccines and how they work is totally different from previous vaccines.  Thus one cannot extrapolate that previous issues will recur.

    2. Having spent my fellowship time in a lab that actively tracked and searched for allergies to Diptheria and Tetanus immunizations and subsequently practiced for another 35 years, I would happily point out that significant numbers of people who claim allergy to vaccines may in fact have some “reaction” but it is not truly allergic.  A detailed history along with careful observation always allowed us to immunize that group.  Some did in fact have subsequent reactions, not allergic, but the value of being immunized overrode that discomfort and the reactions were generally easily amenable to treatment.

    3. There are individuals who are truly allergic to certain immunizations, although it is often an associated adjuvant  in the vaccine or the milieu in which the vaccine was raised that is the actual source of the allergy.  Even in those cases our group and others developed protocols which allowed us to safely immunize them.  It at time necessitated longer times in the office and sometimes graduated increase in the dose of vaccine but During my years in practice I was able to immunize dozens of “allergic” patients who would otherwise not have been able to be protected by the particular vaccine then in use.

I would truly suggest the OP or anyone else concerned about a potential allergic reaction to Covid vaccine take the time to pursue the risks/benefit with a physician trained to provide care for allergic patients.

Interesting.  The vaccine I had a problem with was Tetanus, went unconscious, was hospitalized ,recovered was told never to get it again. When my son was born we started vaccines & when he had a bad reaction to a dpt shot they determined it was the Tetanus he was allergic to & he never had another. So I might only be allergic to Tetanus vaccine but I don't want to sail bad enough to get a corvid vaccine. Guess Vegas will be getting my money

Well, if you have been vaccinated, you should be protected against infection  - after all, that is the whole point of being vaccinated!

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), a person who is vaccinated against COVID-19 can still be infected with or “carry” the virus that causes COVID-19 while not feeling sick or having symptoms. Experts call this “asymptomatic infection.”Mar 5, 2021

I, like many other cruisers, are sorry that you cannot get one of the COVID-19 vaccines.  But to be totally honest, until herd immunity has been firmly established, I hope that you will not be allowed on a cruise.  Please do not misunderstand.  I do want you to cruise again and enjoy everything that cruising has to offer, but not at the expense fo my own health.  Are any of the three vaccine strains less susceptible to allergic reactions?  The reality is that lots of people cannot travel for various health issues unrelated to Covid.  I sincerely hope that future research will enable you to join us,

I have had Covid ,I was not hospitalized. It was not as bad as the influenza A that I contracted on a cruise last Feb.2020.So it is possible you may not get covid but the flu.

Maggie777. I agree completely. We have both been vaccinated, and want to sail with other people vaccinated. I know the vaccines aren't 100%, but at 90 to 95%, I'd feel pretty good about cruising.

How can you be sure while you are off the ship you  won't be infected by someone?

There is no way i will cruise unless all passengers are vaccinated. While i feel for the unvaccinated passengers, i wont risk the chance of Covid affecting my cruise ship. They need to be excluded from being allowed on a ship until they determine there is little risk at least in the short term. I love dogs but am allergic, so i cant visit some of my friends in their homes. That is my reality and i accept that. Covid is much worse than an animal allergy, unvaccinated people should not even expect to be allowed to cruise, that is the height of selfishness.

Feb.2020 I got influenza A on my cruise & stayed in cabin 4 days I was so ill I had to go straight to emergency room in FT.Lauderdale.I have had covid & it was not as bad as the flu.So you could easily get the flu or something else on board.

  16. I'm wondering if I will be able to cruise again. I had severe reaction to a vaccine before & can't get a covid vaccine. I suppose the cruise lines can do what they want, but hoping all won't have same policy. No vaccine is 100% effective. I'm sure I can't be the only person with severe allergy as some people have already died from allergic reactions.

One of my wife's quilting friends heard that another friend got her first vaccination. We were confused because the news on TV, the newspaper, etc. all are saying 75 and older only so far. She investigated and sent my wife some kind of vague info. We checked it out more thoroughly and discovered there were a limited number of vaccinations being done in Butte County for age 65 and up. We signed up and are getting our first shots on February 2 - only 3 days from now. From the info listed it's the Moderna vaccine. It's good to get this going.

Any ill effects from vaccine? My husband will be getting his in a couple of months, unfortunately I had a serious reaction to a previous vaccine so will not be able to get it.
