  1. Hi,congrats to all in your weight loss.I'm trying to lose 10lbs before next cruise,5 months away.Thought I better start early.I started 2 weeks ago as of today lost 2 lbs. so happy trying not to go eat a donut,ha ha .I found a great app that really helps track all your calories ,exercise etc. it's called livestrong, this app also tracks your steps .I find myself trying to walk more despite being in treatment for a hip issue ugh.I find weighing once a week in the morning works for me.:)

  2. Just my personal opinion I don't think children should be on cruises.I have 4, would never take them .Most people are well behaved but let's face it we are there to party .I only cruise the the caribbean islands, I've seen them all over 15 years, most times I never get off the ship now.If one were to take a child I would not let them out of sight.

  3. Was just wondering if there are more chances of an upgrade if you pick your cabin or go for a guaranteed choice or is it just the luck of the draw?

I have sailed with Princess about 15 cruises now, everyone has been a guaranteed .I have never been disappointed have gotten an upgrade always. Now that usually means same type cabin ,better location.

  4. Yes you will be paying for gratuties for 4 people in the cabin. If you dine in a specialty restaurant that is a fee about $30. each.Bottled water ,soda other than tea, coffee ,or milk extra charge.I do not know about child care etc.All excursions vary from $ 30. ea up to $200. depending on what you want to do.Personally I would also purchase trip insurance to also include medical. It is worth it and not that expensive.

  5. Hello all,

My teenage daughter was sick for half of our last cruise with norovirus. Needless to say, it was horrible. We have another cruise coming up, and she's nervous about getting sick again. Here are my plans to keep her (and the rest of us) healthy:

    - Wiping down the cabin with Clorox wipes when we arrive

    - No touching of handrails

    - Avoiding the buffet as much as possible

    - No hot tubs

    - Very frequent handwashing and use of hand sanitizer

Am I missing anything? I'm really not a germophobe, but I want to do everything I can to avoid a repeat of our last experience.

    Thanks!

Most people pick up the tv remote before wiping down ,it's probably the germiest item in the cabin.I also wipe down my plane seat arms ,tray & seat belt. Also a great tip to stay healthy is to put a few drops of organic oregano oil on a tissue seal in a baggie & inhale periodically it's an anti viral.

  6. This news is devastating. It will certainly harm the cruise industry and so it should. We hear all about the environment safety concerns, on and on....... We have cruised 30 times on Princess and feel as guilty as hell. I think of all the wonderful pristine waters we sailed on the 2016 World cruise, I pray we were not polluting the waters with oil then. Our 2018 world cruise is with HAL hopefully they will have better standards. Totally unbelievable.

wondering how we all will be affected(too late for the ocean) cruising on Princess in a few weeks ,it has always been my favorite.Disappointed in the people who thought their actions were ok,heads are rolling.

  7. That is definitely a risk. Unfortunately, when I book my cruises, my wife will not know if she can get the time off, as they don't do time off until much closer to the date. I'd rather lose $200 for the insurance than the cost of the cruise. I need that "cancel for any reason" policy. The only way to get that is to purchase the insurance within 14 days of the initial deposit.

If you need to cancel ,your ins money will be held for you to use on a future cruise within a year .I always use travel guard through TA it is always the cheapest have used them for 12 years.Just make sure if you cancel, your TA contacts the ins company to hold your funds.
