I'm looking at a cruise in June out if Tampa. We have never cruised out of Tampa so I'm hoping to find some advice on parking.
The cruise port terminal is 15 a day. I saw a site 'seven one seven parking enterprises' that says 3.99 a day with shuttle to cruise port. That seems too good to be true? Has anyone use them? Or does anyone have other companies to use??
Thanks

I've been on trips from May to August, and it's always nice to have some shade during those months. :). And if you don't make it to HMC this time, there is always next time! If that's the only thing holding you back, then I think you're making a good decision about doing the Paradise itinerary. Even though I didn't care for the actual beach, I did love Cozumel, and I like that there are so many things you can do, beaches, water activities, cultural activities. It's a place I don't think I could get tired of any time soon. The third time in Nassau was enough for me, and I don't have a desire to go back until we take our kids there to do things I know they would like.
Yep, I'm really leaning more towards Paradise. We've never sailed out if Tampa and I love the itinerary, I guessing will be ok without half moon cay. This has helped a lot!! Thanks.

Thanks, that helps. I do love the beaches. I just wonder how hot it will be then?? As much as I love a beach I don't like roasting :)
I think we are leaning more towards Paradise. I am happy with everything about it other than the fact that it does t have half moon cay. it seems like a wonderful cruise.

Half Moon has some of the most beautiful water I have ever seen....love that place!
At Cozumel we book a day pass at Nachi Cocum which give you a three course meal and all the drinks you want......all day...served on the beach.....:D
Yep you do have a difficult decision.......
Thanks!! Your not helping me at all:D
I do love the turtles in Cozumel oh boy!!!

I do love Cozumel too, but I love half moon cay.. Decisions decisionsWe've been on both itineraries out of Jacksonville on the fascination and the 4 day out of Tampa on the paradise. We enjoyed both ships and really wouldn't have a preference there...however- we LOVE Cozumel and would always pick Caribbean over Bahamas. It's just a "step up" as far as we are concerned.
see that is the problem. It is a half moon cay one. That's what makes it hard for me.Nothing against the Fascination, it was the first ship we cruised on, but unless your stopping at Half Moon Cay on the Fascination, I would take the Paradise. Cozumel beats Nassau for us any day. -
The fascination sails out of jacksonville......the Sensation sails out of PC
Oh yeah.. My bad, meant Jacksonville .. Duh!!! I should edit that one huh
-
We are planning a cruise mid June and can't decide between the Paradise out of Tampa or Fascination out of Jacksonville :)l. We've been on the Fascination once years ago and really loved it.
This time we are taking friends with us who have never cruised before. They are not so sure they would like Bahamas which is why we thought about the fascination.
Just not sure because its an older ship that has t been updated in a while ?? So, any info /opinion would be greatly appreciated.

Just worked for me last Thursday. Saved approx. $140 on 2 excursions (2 adults and 1 child) Chacchoben ruins in Costa Maya and Altun Ha in Belize (Dream in Feb). Found out about the Altun Ha one on our CC rollcall. Found the Chacchoben one on Google, literally in a 2 min search. Search on Carnival "Excursion Guarantee" for the online form, filled in and submitted around noon, rec'd email confirmation and verified that prices had been reduced on online booking that evening. Parameters must match (excursion time--4 hrs tour, 6 hr tour, etc, lunch/no lunch, transpo/no transpo, etc,, everything must be the same. Can't say it will be so lucky on every excursion, but can't hurt to try!

A few weeks ago a friend of mine said she got offered a free cruise but she had to turn it down because she had to go on a certain date and she couldn't go then. She told me she kept getting calls from a 305 area code, kept ignoring it and finally answered when they offered it to her. She swears it was Carnival, she said they told her she only had to pay port fees and when she asked what the catch was they told her that business has been hurt by all the bad press and they just want to get people cruising and telling their friends to cruise. She had only been on ONE cruise?? Why dont they offer me freebies. I assume because they know ill jump at the offer:D but... I'd say I'm one of their best cheerleaders!! I'm always telling people to go on cruises!! CALL ME!! CALL ME!!
I am gonna ask her next time I see her if it had anything to do with the casino, or if she even gambled on her cruise. I don't so I guess that's why they don't call me

My DD is on there too and she said its cold and rainy and COLD (her exact quote). I sure hope it is better tomorrow!!

I just went on FOS in July 2013 and wanted to make a couple of comments. We also parked at Park N Cruise. It is $5 a day if you make a reservation online. The only problem we encountered was on the return trip. There were several groups waiting for a van and no real line. If you happened to be near the parking space where the van pulled up, you got on the van. It didn't matter that you had been waiting longer. It was very frustrating. I would recommend that once you get to the area where you wait with everyone, try to determine who was there before you. It may sound strange, but I would start a list. It really was chaotic. Finally, Park N Cruise hired a taxi van to take my family and another family who had been waiting a while.
Another comment I wanted to make is about Jamaica. That was our first time to the island and my kids had the best time of the whole cruise there. There were so many adventurous things to choose from in Jamaica. It was very different from all of the other stops. Just research on Cruise Critic what other groups have done. You will see lots of recommendations. The only problem is that most of the fun stuff is farther away. I would hire one of the many recommended private tour guides. They will make sure you are well taken care of.
Lastly, my husband and son also noticed that on the last day of the trip, we were continually clapping for the staff. First, while we were having lunch in the Windjammer, someone was on the PA system describing what the staff in the Windjammer had done for us (eg. "they have become like family to you"). It went on and on. Then, in the final show, the CD went on and on. We were clapping forever. Then, in the MDR, the same thing. We went on Disney last year and we don't remember this sort of thing. I just didn't know what to make of it. Were they wanting us to tip them more or were they worried about people reducing the automatic tips? Do that many people not leave the automatic tips?
It was a great cruise and I would recommend it to any family with teens or preteens. There is so much to enjoy. We could not fit in everything! The Western Caribbean stops were great. If you have a cruise on FOS booked, have a great time!
I am going on the freedom sept 29th. We planned to use the park and cruise. I just went on their website and it says 7.99 a day?? Are there 2 different ones or did they raise their rates?

Yikes, that's what I was afraid of!! It's so much cheaper than anyone else so it made me suspicious.
