I am going on the first week-long Caribbean voyage out of Miami on 11/17. I think there is a 4-night leaving this Friday, but I'm not sure what happens between Tuesday and Saturday.

I won't be doing a live report, but I will be able to answer questions and report back.

This is what my Set Sail looks like for next week. I have removed my name, reservation number, and bar code (which was located vertically along the right edge of the document).

So if you have an iPhone and are connected to the ship's WiFi, can you then use iMessage (with other iPhone users) without paying for Voom? Or use What's App, for that matter?

I'm looking at the new Set Sail Pass. Under my name, it lists my C&A status, and then it says "Choice" after that. Does that refer to MTD? Just curious because it says Choice on the adults' Set Sail Passes, but not my son's.

If you are able to find out who the Diamond and/or Suite Concierges are, that would be fantastic!

I saw that you said Diamond happy hour drinks were honored in the MDR. I wonder if that is just for the TA voyage? I hadn't heard about that happening before...maybe it's new. It's discouraging to hear that your wait for MTD was so long that you left and ate elsewhere.

So Raj will most likely be in the DL rather than SL when Symphony starts sailing the Caribbean? 

Part of of our group is Diamond, some are in suites, some are both. We were hoping to work with just one concierge, but it’s a challenge because we don’t all qualify for the same concierge. We sailed with Raj in the SL on Harmony, so were hoping to pick up where we left off with him. Any advice? Thanks.

We were supposed to be in port from 9:00 - 6:00, but they just changed the times...and now it's 7:00am - 4:00pm instead. We had already booked an activity based on the original time -- it just got changed this week, and we cruise in November. So I'm trying to figure out if the activity still makes sense given the reduction in "useable" time in port (the activity is not available at 7:00am, so even though it's the same number of hours in port, they are not equivalent as far as the activity goes).

If the itinerary says you are in port from 9:00am - 6:00pm, does that mean the earliest you can disembark is 9:00am...and that all aboard is at 5:00pm? I'm assuming 6:00pm is departure time, but that All Aboard is earlier. Correct?

We would be contacted by the Suites Concierge, not Diamond. Correct?

So you are saying that nobody is able to do Coastal Kitchen reservations online before the cruise? I was thinking it was just a website glitch (which have been known to happen here and there with RC!)

Are all concierges created equal? Meaning...if we were to have access to both, would one concierge be able to make more things happen than the other? We are mainly looking at dining reservations at Coastal Kitchen and/or MTD...but for a pretty big group.

Also, is there a reason why Coastal Kitchen doesn't appear as an option in the cruise planner? This is for one Grand Suite and one Crown Loft Suite.

We are having a similar issue with the comedy show on Symphony. There are 2 showtimes listed each night -- 8:45pm and 9:00pm. Both in the Attic. Not only are the times wrong, it also seems odd that they are so early. In my experience, there is usually a comedy show pretty late at night since it's for the 18+ crowd.

How long does it usually take to hear back from a concierge? I sent an email about a week and a half ago, and didn’t get a reply. Maybe I should try again?

My son is 10, and has been on 6 cruises. He's never needed his card for anything. We will be going on another cruise in November, and this is the first time I'm thinking he might need it...we shall see.

They will bring you as many as you want. We swapped out the wet towels for dry ones during the day.

You could look at the menus about 60 days out in the RCI app and assume it might pretty close to that.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, they've had that turkey dinner on the menu for as long as I can remember :-)

We might shoot for Coastal Kitchen for dinners anyway, so I'm not sure how much the menus matter. But I will try to post them for others upon my return.

We are sailing on the 11/17 Symphony voyage, the first 7-day cruise out of Miami. When preparing for a typical cruise, I review menus so generously posted by people in these boards...and I figure out where I want to eat dinner each night based on whether or not I like the MDR menu for that evening.

Since we are the first sailing, I realize that nobody will be able to post menus for our trip. Would it be safe to assume that the menus would be the same as those on Harmony for the Western itinerary? Or is that a poor assumption?

Thanksgiving also falls during our cruise, so I'm not sure if there would be a special menu for that evening.

We just made final payment today on a group booking, and the credit was equal to the *lowest priced* full fare passenger (meaning not the 3rd or 4th passenger in the cabin), less port charges and taxes.

Any idea who will be in the SL when Symphony sails from Miami in mid-November? Might Raj be back from vacation by then?

Rahul Barua went on vacation on 7-8-2018--he will return on 9-2-2018 and be in DL

Jenny Pasamba moved from DL to SL with Raj Bhugwatch aa the other SL Concierge (until 9-2-2018).

Jacque Yubat returned to SY and is in the DL.

Is it the same puzzle as on Harmony? I hope not. We have been on all of the Oasis class ships...and it sounds like we are getting repeats of Hairspray and the escape room.
