Thanks for taking the time to reply to my question about the roomette size on Amtrak. Since this next trip is just myself, it will be fine - not sure how comfortable it would be for two on a cross-country journey. Did look at the larger rooms, but the cost was too significant for this trip. Appreciated your comment about how you planned to stow your luggage. Very helpful for someone who tends to "overpack". It's often the details that can make a good trip a great one.

Thank you for taking us along on your amazing journey and thanks very much for your comments on Amtrak. Am considering a trip next year on Amtrak and the pictures of your roomette were very helpful. Didn't realize how small they are. My last train trip was decades ago so now I have a better a better idea of what to expect. Still looking forward to being on a train again, though.

Just off the Maasdam on Monday. We were on the Main deck and had an A/C problem. We couldn't turn off the A/C - way too cold. The next day the thermostat unit was replaced and everything worked fine.

Thank you for sharing your Disney "adventure". We are planning a family cruise in the near future, but with five (3 children) it's been difficult to find the right cruise line so we can be in one cabin. Finally decided to look at Disney and they certainly seem to cater to families with their cabins. The extra bathroom space is certainly a plus. Now I just have to decide if I could handle all the Disney mania and that many children.

Though I didn't use the hot tubs, spent a good amount of time out there. Nice place to have lunch in good weather and always plenty of loungers. Not usually very crowded (though it was during the Mexico portion of our cruise.) One of the more quiet places on the ship especially in the evening. Nice little bar on one side and pizza on the other. Enjoy your cruise.

Just off the Veendam and for the last six days did not have internet at all. Was told that a technician was boarding in Ensenada to work on the problem. Hope that it got fixed. Connection time was also very slow when I was able to access the internet prior to Hawaii. On previous cruises, have had pretty good luck using the internet but not this time.

Safe travels across the Atlantic.

I've used both the laundry and dry cleaning services and have found it seems to vary somewhat depending on the ship. Usually it has been very good, though I won't send anything that may shrink like cotton shirts. Recent experience on the Veendam with dry cleaning was not good. Clothes came back barely ironed and still not clean even after re-sending them.

Thank you so much for the pictures. We were able to see her in Rotterdam during a cruise on the "new" Rotterdam a few years ago. It would have been wonderful to have sailed on her.

Thanks so much for the nice review. We will be boarding on Saturday - our first time on the Veendam. We booked primarily because we can drive to San Diego (avoiding the stress of flying) and all those lovely sea days back and forth to Hawaii.
