The email did the trick! I just heard back from the steakhouse manager that my reservation was confirmed. Not a response to my online request but to my email.

 

So if there are those of you who want to confirm your reservation and you've been patiently waiting for a response, I'd email the manager of the steakhouse. The id is usually the first 2 characters of the ship followed by 'steakhouse@carnival.com'. In my case, BRSteakhouse@carnival.com, for the Breeze.

 

To those who question why we make reservations in advance, in my case it's because I want to assure that I'll be able to eat on the date/time that I choose, and I prefer to make the reservation in advance so that it's confirmed. It may be okay to wait til on the ship, you may have always gotten the date/time you want, but that doesn't mean it will always happen!

I sent an email to FRSteakhouse@carnival.com. It could not be delivered. Help! Anybody know Freedom's email abbreviation?

Every time we have sailed on other ships, check-in time was there a year out. But not this time!

We cruise in September of this year and still do not have staggered check-in time. My PVP told me to check often which I have done for the past couple of months. He told me where to check but there is still no time listed. Frustrating.

We sail on the Freedom in September. We have not received our confirmation to the steakhouse that I made in August and again in September (thought there was a problem with the August reservation). On all other ships we received confirmation within a day or 2. Asked our PVP and he said he didn't know why we had not received a reservation. Also asked him about the time for check-in not being posted. He said keep checking months ago and it still isn't available. Just thinking Freedom has issues.

We are sailing on the Freedom next year. Our first cruise was on the Conquest which we loved. Freedom is a Conquest class ship so we are excited to get to sail on her (love fish and chips). But Breeze is one of my favourite ships. As is the Magic. We always sail during hurricane season and so far it hasn't been a problem.

I don't know if that helped. I think either will be a great cruise. I've read good things about Freedom.

We were on the Breeze in September and they debuted 2 new shows that are new to Carnival so they will be there for a while. Breeze is going to dry dock in April and I bet they add an Alchemy Bar.

We are just off the Breeze in September and did not have to choose. We had our room serviced twice a day.

In August were on the Magic for the second time. Love that ship. Say "hi" to Sebastian in The Red Frog Pub from the Caribbean Colada and Mocha lady. Fabulous bartender.

After an experience of dropping off our luggage except for our carry-ons and then not being able to get on the ship till the next day, we pack overnight essentials in our carry-owns.

Sorry I can't answer about other ships but we greatly enjoyed the magician on the Magic last April. He also entertained us when we did the Chef's Table (wonderful food). We will be on the Magic again in August and would love to know if he is still there if anyone knows?

My husband and I had our first aft balcony in September and loved it. The view is amazing and we would do it again for the view. Noise wasn't a problem nor did we encounter soot. There is a lack of privacy because of the slanted walls. You get to know your neighbours. Although the balcony is larger, the room configuration is different. You might be able to see it on youtube. But glad others don't like it so more will be available!
