Hey there, we were on this cruise, and had some activities with the Cruise Critic group. We also had a great time. Thanks for the pics. I won the slot tournament, and can go to Florida for the Regal $50.000 tournament!

    No free cruise though!:D

  2. No dinner for the 4 day anymore. I even went and told them I had it on the cruise before, but it didn't help. They said it had been that way for a long time (which it wasn't). Anyway, I think they are consistent in saying no to free dinner for suites on the 4 day. We had a great time anyway. Went to the Crab Shack dinner. Yum,

  3. We are new to Princess and thinking about booking a cruise to Alaska in Sept 2015. We are thinking either mini-suite or splurging on a Vista suite since this will be a trip for a special birthday.

The suites already include a specialty dinner. The 50th anniversary special currently running also includes a specialty dinner. If you've booked your cruise under this special' date=' did you get two specialty dinners or is there no stacking of benefits?

    Thanks![/quote']

Hi. We have booked a 15 day connoseuir tour/cruise, with the cruise leaving on August 29 after the tour. We decided to book a suite this time. We believe we will be getting both dinners. Really looking forward to this cruise.

  4. Hello! We just got back from a 4 day cruise on the Golden. We had window suite F305. This was a "preview trip" for a 10 day Alaska cruise we are going on in June 2015 on the Golden and we booked window suite F311. We wanted to see if we'd like the suite and could spend 10 days in one (6 of which are sea days) or if we wanted to switch. We will be keeping the window suite!

If anyone has any questions about the windows, feel free to ask. I know there aren't many in the fleet and people are curious.

Small world, we were your next door neighbors in F307. We really liked the location which was so convenient to everything, and no noise at all. The amount of storage cabinets and drawers is unbelievable. The one outlet was an issue, but Ferdinand brought us a 25' orange industrial extension cord to string across the room for DH's CPAP machine.

What a sight!! We sorely missed the balcony, but the view from the large windows was extremely good. The blinds do raise up. For us, we are glad we did this once, but will probably not get it again. I'm afraid we will have to go for the full suite.:o For the most part, we had a very enjoyable cruise for our fourth time on the Golden. We are headed out to the 10 day Mexico on the Grand next week.

All the shampoo, etc. is still given you in the small tubes, and the jacuzzi tub was wonderful, the best I've been in.

  5. We just got off the 4 day Golden. We had a suite, but no specialty dinner offered the first night. We did get the dinner last year, and I'm pretty sure when we booked it was still there. I talked with them, but it was still a no. This was very disappointing as it was one reason we chose the suite.

  6. If you are driving, and want to leave your car, The Crowne Plaza is great. We have stayed there many times, and have had no problems, including very fast pickup when you get back. There are many good restaurants nearby, and we walk all over. The underground parking is a plus for us.

The park and sail package has gone up in price, to $229, but if you are going on a longer cruise, it is very economical.

  7. gblcl, We're in this room for the 4/1/2014 PC cruise. It's the closest room we could get to being aft, which we love. Looking forward to this cruise!

We were in this cabin last April, and would not get it again. The vibrations were so great that they literally shook the light bulbs out. You do get used to it after a while. Also, the room was very warm, being at the end of the hall. We had the AC checked, but no improvement. The balcony view is very good, and right next to the aft balcony door. We didn't have a problem with hearing that door, but it was hard to open. The cabin itself was very quiet. Also, the laundry is not far away. There were not any lounge chairs outside the aft any more, but you can take your chairs out. There were never many people out there. Be prepared for very warm humid weather. We did a lot of our canal viewing from inside. This is a great cruise to take.

  8. Did C751 on the sister ship, the Golden, round trip to Seattle, and the aft is the way to go for Alaska.

    Enjoy!!

    Rick

(Being converted to Princess from Royal Caribbean):D

We just got off the Golden C751, and would take it again in a flash. The room was very large, and the balcony, despite the beam which was no problem, held a table, 2 chairs, 2 lounges, and a small side table. It was very quiet, with excellent aft views.

  9. Aloha,

David Cole is scheduled to get on the Star on October 21 so I am not sure if he will be onboard for that particular cruise...as I know more, I will post here on CC.

Glad to know that you'all will be on the Star. We are also planning a trip either February 18, or March 5. Is there any advantage in either date?-prices are the same. Trying to decide which one, so if anyone else has any input we'd love to hear from you. This will be our third cruise to Hawaii with you onboard. Looking forward to a great cruise.

  10. This cabin just opened up for our April sailing through the Panama Canal, and we grabbed it, moving from a forward mini(covered) to this one which is not covered, but has the aft view, and a covered outside area very close by. We've never had an aft cabin, so hope we'll be happy. Has anyone had any experience with this cabin? We'd like to hear your comments.

  11. Hi' date='[/size']

It is on it's way to you in your email. Just noticed that you are on the Golden in October. I leave on the Golden for Hawaii on September 26 and return Oct. 10th. So there will be one cruise after mine and then you board. Have lots of fun wit the Slot Pull and on your cruise.

Yes we are, and we can't wait. I've been following several threads before and after ours to get ideas. I wanted to do a slot pull, and since no one offered, I decided to host it. Have a great cruise.

  12. Hello,

I'm in charge of our Casino Pull on upcoming Diamond Princess Alaskan cruise Sept 1 (Vancouver to Whittier)... if the spread sheet is still available it would be a great help. I've never done one of these and I'm in charge!!!

    Thanks... email leelanaorr21@aol.com

To those of you planning slot pulls, the Casino Manager does not have to choose a machine for you. In fact, on one of our pulls, we moved around from machine to machine. I did notify the casino manager aboard the Sapphire when we boarded that we were having a pull, and he provided us some nice prizes-caps and a nice tote bag. He even stopped by to greet us and see how we were doing. We have had a great time on every slot pul we have joined.
