Got of the Seashore this past Sunday.

It has always been great in the Top Sail.  Despite all of my issues, I love the product, but every now and then I am left shaking my head.

On a sea day, I was in the Top sail playing cards right next to the stair case going up to the restaurant on the left side mid afternoon in order to stay out of the sun,  when a guy came in with a Guitar and an Ipad.  He proceeded to sit up front of the stair case and began playing music on the ipad, playing his guitar, and singing 😱.

I spoke to the servers and they told me it was allowed????

I ended up having to move to the far other side into the sun just to escape it. It was the Olive garden music over run with religious songs and other songs.

I looked up online and I did not see it as a prohibited item. I ended up speaking to the YC Manager and she told me it absolutely was not allowed nor was the personal music device without headphones, and did I know their cabin number.  I told her that is not my job but her staffs job to deal with that. She told me if it happens again to ask for her.  I told her no, that puts me in an odd position and that its her job to notify her staff that if it happens again to take care of it. She said she will address it to all later which she did as a server, did come over to me and apologized later.

How did it even get on board?

Decent cruise, Embarkation was good, disembarkation was not smooth using self assist as hundreds of passengers were already ahead of us despite being first group off of YC.

Interesting read. I'm a lover of cards,I'm a lover of board games, and I'm a lover of music. On the cruises I've been on ,in the Top Sail lounge, I have heard guitars, piano, duets, solos etc. Some good ,some not so much. When my group plays board games we are rarely quiet and lounges may have different meanings to different people. Go to a Royal Caribbean lounge during a Diamond get together and it's loud.

I would find it hard to complain about someone who is enjoying what they too paid for. Maybe it was raining, to windy,to cold outside to play his music.

If it was extremely loud like an electric guitar I may have asked him if he could turn it down a bit but would never ask him to stop playing. I love the guitar and good music.

Just my humble opinion. You probably did the right thing for your options, moving to another location. Top Sail certainly is big enough.

@jean87510 I too was wondering about that! Maybe it's the cabana's on the regular pool deck and not YC?? I really do not know. If we make it back to the spa, I'll ask for clarification.

Speaking of the spa...I really should go down there today while we're in port and it may not be too busy, to try out all those showers, salt room, saunas, snow room, etc. etc.!!

Looking forward to the snow room and the sauna.

Has anyone gone over to the sports courts to see if they have pickleball out there. I know Seaside does was wondering if Seashore got it outlined yet?

I rented a Yacht Club Cabana the first time I sailed in Yacht Club. The Yacht Club beach is very rocky and not very enjoyable. I prefer renting a regular Cabana over by the lagoon and just head over to Ocean House for lunch. Or just grab a bite to eat at the food truck.

Hi Cheryl, we were thinking about doing the same thing, however, one of our cruisers has mobility problems. Are the non YC cabanas close to a suitable walking area and would it be easy for our friends to catch a shuttle to the YC beach for lunch?

Quite often ships aren’t fully ready when they leave the shipyard. It is common for Royal employees to board and act as test passengers while the final finishing touches are made on the journey across the pond.

Thanks for the update. What you said makes since. It's ashame that we miss out on a great extended trip opportunity.

  5. Just curious, have been keeping up with friends who are getting off the MSC  Seashore today and they said that last night along with the 30+ covid cases on board that they had a man over board alarm. The problem was it was right below my friends balcony yacht Club stateroom and whoever may have jumped didn't go overboard. It this a fact or was he just pulling my leg.

    Has anyone heard any news?

Yes...as many (YC) people as you want can share. They will all get the same amenities also.

Last month we rented one and had 4 different couples in it.

    Enjoy it...it's really nice.

Yea!! Thanks for the response. Is it worth paying the extra 50 for ocean

  7. When signing up for a yacht club ocean front cabana the write up for the cabana says good for up to 6 guest.

When I go to rent the cabana it only allows me to include my wife and myself to use cabana.  I'm not allowed to add or write in 4 more guest.

When I show up on the island with my friends ( who are in the yacht club too) are they allowed to share the cabana also?

  8. We'll the verdict is in, sorry Royal, we appreciate everything that you have done for us. Our 1st cruise way back when the Navigator came out, wow can you believe that it's been almost 25 years of sailing with you. After over 200 points and D+ status and free drinks in the afternoon, we are switching and cruising in the Yacht club. Plus friends from Wilmington just signed up for the Yacht club too.

  9. Thanks fishy for your answer. I had checked that policy when I got back to shore but as you stated it wasn't very specific. I have no problem tipping people I see and who services me but the ones I don't see I have a problem with (i.e maitre'd, wine steward, and especially on MSC the unused Concierge. Most of them you don't see until day 6 of a 7 night cruise. I will check with the MCS forum for answers.

  10. My wife and I just got off the MSC DIVINA. A Beautiful ship. Our stateroom was in the Yacht club.

With that being said. Who gets the 12.50 a day per person $25.00 tip.

The $200.00 bucks going to someone.

Does any of this go to our Butler? Our staff in the restaurant Le Muse?

If someone knows I would like a break down.

  11. Way to go guys. We've cruised Royal now 22 times just a few points away from diamond plus and have never had an upgrade. We cruised carnival once and it upgraded from an inside cabin to a handicapped balcony. Go figure. Maybe one of these days. We will be touched by the up grade ferry.
