If you choose to do self debark what time do you and your belongings need to be out of your stateroom on the last day?

Do they still make you go out to your lifeboat for the mister drill on the fantasy? I saw a recent review with pics that they were outside by the lifeboats for muster. On the dream last year we just had to sit and watch a short video. Thank you.

My partner and I booked the carnival fantasy out of charleston on 4/9/14.

Has anyone done this tour on your own on a Saturday? I did find a private excursion that is the brewery tour and paradise beach which sounds better than perfume and straw.
I did hear back from Ash at the brewery who said they were closed on the Saturday we are in port. I don't know how we can book privately or through carnival if they are really closed though. Thoughts??

If you are up around the gym and locker rooms. Would you mind checking to see if the womens sauna and steam room are connected to the locker room or if you have to go out into a "public" hallway. Thank you and have a wonderful cruise!

Yes but you can book an excursion through the cruise line if you are in port on Saturday. I was just trying to avoid paying for the overpriced excursion that also visits a perfume factory and straw market. Only interested in the beverages :))

Great review and pictures. How did y'all get free champaign ? Was it a holiday offering?

How hard is it to get chairs on the serenity deck? What time should we go out there on sea days?

I am also interested in catching a cab to the brewery instead of booking through the ship which is almost $50pp and includes stops at a perfume factory and straw market which I'm not interested in. My problem is we are in Freeport on a Saturday. The website says tours are only offered Monday through Friday. I have tried to contact the brewery through email with no luck. I know they still offer tours to cruise ships on Saturdays but don't know what would happen if I just showed up in a taxi on a Saturday. Can anyone help???

Do the safes in the cabins use a card or is it a number code? Thank you.

Thank you for the updated fun times. Does the fantasy have a "special" Bloody Mary bar outside the dining room for sea day brunch? I had a few on the dream and they are so much better than the basic ones you get at the regular bars. Thank you :) cheers

Has anyone done the brewery your in Freeport either through carnival or on your own?
We will be in Freeport on a Saturday and I understand the brewery is closed but I have read reviews that the cruiseline excursion still operates on the weekends. I would much rather go on my own. I am only interested in the brewery not shopping.

So they will lower the ES rate to your current rate? The ES rate does not include "free" upgrades so its more to be on a higher deck that we are already booked.

So I finally heard back from the brewery and they said they are not open on Saturdays. I think that is odd since there is a ship in port and most breweries in the states are open on Saturdays. I have read reviews of people that have scheduled tours and tasting with the brewery. Can anyone offer advice/suggestions?

Just checked with a fake booking for my cruise and early saver is back up. It's $30 more than my current guest appreciation rate (for same type cabin and deck). Debating if I should switch and pay $30 extra so I can price guarantee until I cruise or stick with my current rate and only price guarantee until final payment.....thoughts???

There are shuttle buses that will take runners from downtown to mount pleasant before the race and then the buses will return racers to mt p after the race from 10-1. I haven't raced after a cruise but I'm sure if you manage to get in some walking or short runs on the ship you should be fine. The race is an awesome experience and the energy is so great you will feel empowered to finish! Good luck and happy cruising :)

Are you sailing out of charleston? Which date? We are sailing on the 9th. I have done the bridge run several times but not before cruising. What information are you looking for?

Hello everyone. We are booked in an inside cabin on empress deck near the back (AFT). On the deck plans I see a set of stairs that lead up to the next deck and on up to the serenity area (lido deck). Can anyone confirm that you can take these steps all the way up to serenity or are they for crew only? It would be much easier to walk up these steps than walk forward to the next set up steps/elevators. Thank you so much!

What is the earliest cars start lining up to head in for luggage drop off and parking? I don't mind waiting in my car in line for a while but I like to be onboard at the earliest possible time.

What times does the distillery open. Website says 9 and Facebook says 10. Trying to plan our day if we should go to distillery first or beach first. Will go back to ship around lunch to eat. Thank you.

Does anyone know what days and hours Bahamian/sands brewery is open for tours? We will be in Freeport on a Saturday. We would like to go there on our own and not book with the cruise. Thank you.

Wow mtn boys that's a lot of cruising coming up. I would love to be able to vacation that much. I work for a school district so I am forced to cruise during peak times, although I am taking a few days off before spring break to save us $400 on our cruise in April.
UNC- we decided to cruise out of charleston bc of the short drive and after dealing with spring break traffic last year to port canaveral I decided I wouldn't go anywhere near ga/fl on 95 during spring break. I think it would be so much fun to get some nc cruisers together for a group cruise. I'd be up for that!!

Thank you twentyknots. That is exactly what we were hoping to do.
I know there is a thread dedicated to charleston but I wanted to ask if anyone here has suggestions on a great breakfast place to eat downtown the morning of the cruise. We only live a few hours away and will be driving in that morning. Thank you.
