  1. Sorry have no  pictures but it is a nice beach day and I always enjoy a day at a beautiful beach in the Bahamas, you can go outside the gates and there is a bar and some shops there.  I will be back in 3 weeks and am looking forward to going back, hope you enjoy when you go.

  2. Outside the gate there are a few vendors set up and there was a bar where I enjoyed some cold Kaliks, I think I saw some shops to the left when you get off the tender which are ship run.

  3. In March stayed at Hampton Inn Airport/Rocky Point and free shuttle to and from airport and very close to airport, they have a shuttle to and from cruise port for $12 and was very efficient.  One of the best things is Bahama Breeze is 5 minute walk and has nice view of water, plus you can go to their website and make a reservation and this is important because this is a popular place but enjoyed it very much.  Victoria and Krystal at front desk at Hampton Inn are friendly and very helpful.  I enjoyed my stay.

  4. You can walk outside the gate of Princess Caye and there are some shops and a bar where I enjoyed some Kaliks.  Do not remember any taxis but taxis in the Bahamas usually do not have TAXI on them especially in the out islands.  I do not see why you can't find a driver to take you on a tour of that part of the island.

  5. two weeks ago Platinum got priority for tender to Belize.  We met at bar on deck two and they led us to stairway and when we got to deck 1 they had two lines, one for excursions and one for Platinum.  Have not been to a private island since covid so can't report on that.

  6. Was in Costa Maya last week and went to Krazy Lobster and had good time, coconut shrimp was really good $14 and bucket of 5 small Corona $5, had 30 minute deep tissue massage $30 also good.

The bathrooms need a lot of work.

Walked down to Tropicante and will probably go back there as beach seemed a little wider than  the Lobster.  Had a beer and definitely not as busy as the Lobster.

  7. Saw this construction on Carnival Pride last week and wondered why I had not seen anything on this project and am wondering same issues you bring up.  Hope someone will supply more info on this project.

  8. Did Victor Bodden tour to East End March 23 and first time to this end of island and it is much different from West End but enjoyed seeing this end, was not able to go to one spot I wanted but we stopped at Bella's Place, on top of hill with wonderful view of jungle and ocean down below.  It was 9:30am Roatan time but Bella warmly welcomed us altho we interrupted her work and opened up for the 3 of us and we had a few beers and she has a beautiful multi-level building, swimming pool, gardens, roof top area and serves fresh food.  We spent about two hours hearing her story and in 5 minutes she felt like an old friend we had not seen for a while.  Victor and I emailed about one stop we did not go and he is a honest person and will do anything to make sure you are satisfied.  When in Roatan we always book a tour with him and will continue to do so in the future.  If you want something different take the East End tour but make sure you stop at Bella's Place.

  9. March 24, 2022 did our second excursion to Caye Caulker with Coral Breeze and wanted to let all know that this is an excellent trip and this company is first rate and take care of their customers.  I too was worried on my first trip about missing ship etc that makes it easy to make a snap decision to use a ship excursion but as we walked past lines of people for ship excursion you realize you are doing something different. They met us (3) and took us to a dock by the Radisson Hotel just around the corner from port.  We waited on 5 people and Star was concerned that if they did not show they would have to cancel for just the 3 of us.  Realize this happens to even ship excursions but explained to her how this was our second time to CC and how much we looked forward to making this trip.  She made a call and said if the other 5 did not show they would send us to CC so we would not miss our trip.  Well they did show finally (5 young women who live in Belize City) and they were doing the shark alley snorkel but we were just going to the island.  It is about 45 minute boat ride and Captain Jimmy was an excellent captain and the young lady who led the snorkel was excellent with history of area and info on ocean etc.  They dropped us 3 at the split and off they went.  We spent the next few hours at the Lizard and had a wonderful time relaxing and enjoying cold beverages.  We were picked up at agreed upon time and we got back and got on 4:15 tender and sat on tender for another 45 minutes until returned to ship, wish I had that extra time on CC.

Concerned about this trip I hope this makes others rethink as Star and Coral Breeze are very competent and run a safe excursion and much cheaper than being on a huge ship excursion.  If I can answer any questions or concerns I will answer or email Star as she answered all my questions as we had to deal with Daylight savings time and two hour time difference.

  10. Last month Ifly to Guatemala and had the Verifly app and never was asked for my paper copies even at Customs in Guatemala, strange some do and some don't, it was easy for me to use but if I still need paper copies I wonder why they even ask us to use it.  Lately have more questions than answers on many things, smooth sailing to all.

  11. It has been a few years ago but the Hilton Garden Inn near airport let me leave car in their parking lot for my 5 day cruise for $25 and they had da contact with a vendor who shuttled to and from port for a reasonable price.  Lots of restaurants within walking distance.  Good luck with your search.

  12. I used the app for a trip to Guatemala in February and I had no issues and nice not having to fool with all the papers in airport and immigration.  Happy to hear as I board the Pride in a week and already have all on the app waiting for my covid test.  I am 74 and not savvy with tech but this sure makes travelling easier and hope some day we won't need it if covid goes away.

  13. Going to Belize in 2 weeks and going to Caye Caulker with Coral Breeze tours which we have done in the past, they go to Caye and drop those not snorkeling and others have bathroom break and they do the shark thing you mentioned.  We roam the island for a few hours and meet back for ride back to ship.  Adult is $55 and you might check into Coral Breeze Tours, good luck with your search.

  14. I remember fuel surcharges and on one cruise I was on it was applied, this was on Carnival.  I believe my first cruise was 2007 so sometime after that.  Going out of Tampa in 11 days so should be ok for this one but if fuel continues to increase would not surprise me that it comes back.
