  1. We have used the kits 2 times now. We also had back ups in case we dropped it or made a mistake. The test is very easy! The doctor walks  you through the whole process. Just a tiny bit of advice... Bring an extra set. Have someone around or have a way to have your hands free! You will need both hands. It took us 45 minutes the 1st time and 35minutes the second time. Our friends took 90 minutes for a doctor to come online.  Be patient. Results were in our email 1 minute after the doctor was finished. We walked down to hotel lobby and  printed results. It was all very easy if you live in US or if you can't find a test before your cruise. Its just so easy. We one set of ours for Princess cruise at www.emed.com and for Celebrity cruise we bought them at https://store.optum.com/royal-caribbean/  Same thing though to be honest. Hope this helps.

I am also on the Sky Princess Nov 5th. After being on the b2b Inaugurals  of the Sky in the US I was looking forward to this cruise.  Having been on the reposition cruise to the Carib before, I looked forward  to reuniting with a wonderful group of cruisers.     I have been talking  to my cruising friends about this trip. While we still  hold our reservations , we are doubtful we will be on that cruise.   The final payment is due the beginning of August and I am not willing to make that payment if I don't feel safe about the  travel.  Needless to say, the idea of flying is not thrilling to me.

They moved final payment to September!

  3. Our favorite Ship by far. We were just on her for that Hawaii trip last fall. Love the indoor pool and wheelhouse. I heard they are taking the Star out of the Princess fleet and into P&O. We were quite sad. :( It has been so nice having her here on the West Coast.

  4. Yes, I called a second time. Still no word, so I'm going on the assumption that Princess found enough folks willing to switch to an interior cabin. Glad for those who were able to take advantage of the offer. Maybe next time :D

Oh Shoot, Im sorry. They oversold the guarantee balcony's. You never know, they might still need your balcony! Fingers are still crossed! We leave for London in 2 days. See you in a week! Safe travels to you my friend!

  5. Congratulations! It's great to get paid to cruise isn't it? Sure hope the OP gets it too.

Me too! IT is nice ! It’s really not a move down. It’s how you look at it overall! and we look at it as totally awesome .

  6. We got it! Got an email this morning, called and left the message and they called us back an hour ago. Total no brainer! Our balcony cabin cost over 5,000! Now its nothing and we got to keep all our lovely incentives! So excited! I cannot believe it. I would never hold out for better! Free is the best! :)

  7. Getting rid of Crooners on the newer Royal-class was a huge mistake. If you’re going to get rid of something, get rid of Princess Live! and replace it with a real lounge. If you need yet another restaurant move The Shops of Princess and put one there, and locate the shops into the area occupied by the Art Gallery. That space is wasted anyways.

Wow.. Exactly what I was thinking to a tee ;);)

  8. Cell costs at sea are quite expensive, and even though AT&T offers Caribbean packages for vacationers it doesn't cover the ship. What I did was used my computer and connected to wifi and did skype calls. That worked for what I needed.

Well, when we were on the Grand it indeed covered usage on the Ship. Well I remember paying a flat fee and was able to use my ATT on the Grand last October. We did not go over our data but I can see how you might. Anyway, Here are the choices we had. I do see there is no Regal/Royal right now though as an option. ? hmm

  9. Wow, we haven't experienced that at all. Perhaps it's because we do longer cruises which seems to attract an older crowd? We would meet a group in the Wheelhouse Bar, enjoy a couple drinks and socialize. Absolute zero rowdiness witnessed.

It is a shame that a few ruin it for others.

Could not have said it better myself. Never ever seen anything like a "rowdy" BOGO crowd on a Princess ship.

  10. This was posted on another thread:

"Note: A 15% gratuity is added to all package prices (like any other bar purchase).

Silver Package (wines up to $29 per bottle list price)

    7 bottles -- $161 (average of $23 per bottle)

    10 bottles -- $210 (average of $21 per bottle)

    12 bottles -- $240 (average of $20 per bottle)

Gold Package (wines up to $45 per bottle list price)

    7 bottles -- $217 (average of $31 per bottle)

    10 bottles -- $290 (average of $29 per bottle)

    12 bottles -- $336 (average of $28 per bottle)

You get a punch card which can be used at any of the dining locations.

You may choose any wine on the regular wine menu. If you want to buy a wine that costs more than what the package covers, you just pay the difference. For example, if you have a Gold package and buy a wine that costs $46, the charge for $46 will appear on your stateroom account, followed by a $45 credit."

Yeup! That is exactly what is was on the Star out of LA this last November to Hawaii and the Grand out of SF to Alaska last August. I had to hunt it down by asking a few people on the Grand, but when we were on the Star, on embarkation day, the employees were walking around with a flyer and asking people to buy it. Its worth it and both times the wines were pretty darn good.

  11. Love that! My DH and I also did this for my parents 70th birthdays (a week apart). We gave them all kinds of weird gifts before they opened the "Cruise Trip". We even had a cake decorated like a ship. We bought a suitcase and luggage tags, it was super fun! I am sure your parents will love it! Don't worry if they have other plans, they will change them for sure! The Sapphire is one our favorite ships. Enjoy! & Good luck keeping that secret. :)

  12. I just came home from a Mexican Riviera cruise ( 23 April -30). This was my 5th cruise on The Jewel and my 35th Norwegian. Hands down this was the best cruise I have EVER had. Staff was terrific from Captain Pelle, bar staff, wait staff, housekeeping and the Security Guards from Nepal. I can not wait to return in September.

I am very glad to hear that some people didn't experience the same unpleasantness that we did.
