Everything is continuing to get worse.

Amber Cove is a stop on my next cruise. I had been looking at a beach excursion for myself and Grandchildren. Now looking at the news and reading the articles, I’m hoping they have us stop somewhere else. Half Moon Cay or Grand Turk could be options. We already have 3 sea days so would not like another.

Got off the Dream on Sunday. We had YTD and saw anything and everything in the Dining Room. On “Fancy” night we wore closed toe shoes and not a T-shirt or sweatshirt. Other days it didn’t really matter. Very comfortable.

Thank you! We have 3 sea days so I’ll at least give it a look.

Thank you Honolulu Blue for your report on the Dream. My daughter and I are embarking on the Dream on the 10th. You’ve answered so many questions that I was thinking about. The only question I can’t find is if you tried the Pig & Anchor at lunch time. Is it good? Is it open only on sea days? Any opinion?
thanks for any input.

My Daughter, SIL and I did the British Isles on the Regal Princess last June/July. I think Princess had more interesting stops. That being said, we enjoyed Liverpool and did the HOHO bus. Lots of interesting stops and liked that all the museums were free admission. In Belfast we did the Antrim Coast & Glens. It was a very misty, chilly day but the views of the countryside and the sheep everywhere was amazing. If you can get an itinerary that includes Edinburgh, you won’t regret it.
We stayed two nights in London and wished we stayed longer. Did the bus out of Victoria Station on Embarkation day and it couldn’t have been easier. Handed bags to bus person and didn’t see them again until we were in our cabin.
Enjoy but be prepared for cold rainy weather.- 1

We have canceled the 2 cruises for this year and 1 for next March. We are both vaccinated. The stress of finding where and how to get a test 48 hours before sailing when we have always flown in 2 days ahead of time is too much. We have masked up on trips to Las Vegas but have no interest in wearing a mask at the beach.
Waiting for the crazy to go away. I don’t think we are the only ones with this mindset.

We were to cruise tomorrow on the Horizon out of Miami. When the new restrictions hit it was too much for us.
We haven’t used a mask in months. It is strictly whatever you are comfortable with here in Texas. Wear one if you want, or not. Don’t want one on a cruise ship. We are vaccinated. Our choice. Have not felt the testing is useful when you have no symptoms. That’s just our personal comfort level. Want to cruise again but not under these conditions.
Will vacation on land.

Had 3 cruises booked. Canceled all 3. Will not wear masks on vacation. The logistics of getting a test when we travel 2 days early are crazy. They are making a fun vacation too difficult. Our window of cruising is closing due to our age. Sad.

Was booked on Horizon sailing 8/15. Canceled. We live in Texas. Got vaccinated in April and haven’t worn a mask since. Not going to do it on vacation.

Did not book through Carnival. Had a cruise leaving 4/3/21 out of Miami. Final payment was yesterday. We canceled because we didn’t want to tie up anymore money. We were offered to move it to 2022. Doesn’t sound like they have confidence in 2021. Makes me so sad.😢

April 3, 2021, 8 day out of Miami on Horizon. Hope it happens.

Scheduled to sail on Carnival Radiance out of Barcelona on May 9th. Waiting to see what the changes are to the itinerary. Hoping things clear up some by then.

We have taken this excursion four times. The food is not bad. All drinks are included. Sodas, beer, mixed drinks, etc. we made a point to tip the bar tender and they really appreciated it.
There are hot dogs, hamburgers and fries. In a separate cabana type room is a buffet with fruit, pasta, chicken, salads. You shouldn’t go hungry.
The water is nice with lots of fish to see. There’s an area with turtles, an area with flamingos and a few peacocks walking around. Also a kids water area. Have fun.

We always enjoy walking to a restaurant on either side of the bridge, having a soda or beer and watching the bridge and the people.

139 days. So thankful

We rented a cabana back in 2013 and it was cheaper but we really enjoyed it. As previously stated higher numbers are better. We got #11.
Plus: very relaxing, like having our own private beach for the first couple hours.
Minus: People showed up about 3 hours in trying to take our chairs, just walk in and take over our cabana while we were in the water. There were a bunch of them and they were drunk. Not fun. Now we skip it the cabana.

If your cards are not in your mailbox, stop a Steward (hopefully your Steward) and ask for them. A couple times our cards weren’t in our mailbox. Wasn’t hard to get them.

I post this about once a year to give people something to consider. A few years ago on our way through the airport to fly to Ft. Lauderdale for a cruise, my husband had a stroke in the airport. The people at TSA were great and called the paramedics. When we arrived at the hospital it was so convenient to hand the nurse the ziplock bag of his medications in the original bottles. Much easier than me trying to remember all the correct names and dosages while under stress.
good news - we took our cruise a month later.

I wipe down the main surfaces and remote on the first day.
Is anyone concerned about going to Amber Cove because of the 4000 inmates released in Haiti?
