  1. I am thinking of booking Oasis of the Seas for April or May of 2019. I have only sailed Carnival in the past like 8 or 9 times so I have a few questions about RC.

I know you need reservations for the shows...how far in advance can you book these?

How much is RC drink package and is it like Carnival that every person over 21 in cabin has to buy it?

Is it best to just book online?

Does RC have picture packages if so are they reasonably priced?

Guess that is all for now. Thanks

  2. Have done about 8 cruises with Carnival but I feel I need to try a new cruise line..was looking at NCL Breakaway or Epic and Royal's Oasis. For those that have been on all 3 cruise lines tell me what you thought about these ships.

Are their prices for drinks, pictures, pay for food about the same prices as Carnival?

    Thanks

  3. What is the difference in cost, or is that not a factor? I would always opt for 8 nights vs 7, and Aruba & Curacao are two of my favorite ports.

Breeze is like $10 more than Sunshine for a cabin on Lido. So basically same price. Sunshine has 3 ports and 4 sea days vs Breeze 4 ports and 3 sea days.

  4. Hi,

We just got off the Sunshine today and want to share our thoughts. First some background, we are Elite on Princess and have sailed twice on NCL during those cruises. Our son got married on a Carnival cruise, our first on Carnival, and we have only sailed them since and our next cruise will put us up to Platinum. We have heard all the comments about the Sunshine, you either love it or hate it, we loved it. We can get more specific in the next coming days, but we just got back home a short while ago and we are exhausted.

We were also on this cruise and we also LOVED the Sunshine. We will be back on for the Southern route before she leaves PC April 19, 2019. I hope Mikey is still the CD then we really loved him.

  5. I have only been on 1 Royal cruise maybe in 2001 0r 2002 I mainly cruise with Carnival but I have been looking and I found a 10 night cruise I am interested in..my first question is when I go to Royal's website I cannot find any price but the sale they have going on and it is non refundable this cruise is not until 2020 so I want a refundable rate. Do I have to call to book instead of doing it online?

And next question is can you tell me the biggest differences in Royal and Carnival?

    Thanks

  6. We just returned from our last cruise on Sunday it was our first cruise with your time dining because my husband likes early but I wanted to give it a try and we both LOVED anytime dining. We had 2 late ports and we still could eat in the dining room with no problem and never any rushing to get there at a certain time. We never had to wait to be seated and we went at different times. Same dining room just one floor was for anytime dining. So no more set dining times for us.

  7. This cruise was mine and my husbands 9th cruise all with Carnival but one. I really liked the Sunshine although to me it seems to have more movement and rocking than any other ship I have been on, but the weather on the first full day was NOT great, it was rainy and windy but the movement still continued even when weather improved.

Mikey was our Cruise Director and was the best cruise director I have sailed with. He was everywhere and had energy out the roof. This cruise was his first on the Sunshine he had just returned from vacation he used to be on I think the Fantasy.

We went to some comedy shows they were great and yes the lounge where they have comedy is small but we always got in and only once sat on the side with TV screens just try to get there about 20 minutes early. We also went to several shows Epic Rock was the best. We watched 2 dive in movies they were great.

In the past we have always had early dining but this time we tried your time dining we really liked it and will do it again. We just checked in on deck 5 and got a ticket and went down to deck 3 Aft and we were seated we never had to wait. We ate in Lido one night the other nights in the dining room. We did not eat at any pay for places this cruise.

Loved the Havana Bar area in the back of Lido deck that is where we ate most mornings and at lunch we would get our food and take it back there. And the bartenders back there are great too.

I will say that it was hard to find chairs on the Lido on sea days and only once did we get a chair on Serenity but we did sleep in on sea days so maybe if you are an early riser you can find one.

Mikey had a great 80's trivia(party) in the Lobby the last night.

Sunshine has a Shakespot and those milk shakes are great.

I would gladly cruise the Sunshine again I was a little worried from all the bad reviews but I think you should try it for yourself because you will be missing out on a great ship and a great cruise director and a great time.
