So did I read right that JD will be moving to the Concierge Lounge in December on the Radiance of the Seas not the Diamond Lounge ?
-
he's going to Jewel of the Seas
If Captain Trym is going to the Jewel do we know who will be the Captain will be on the Radiance in December?
-
So does this mean that the “amped” ships will have all the amenities highlighted in green at the bottom??

That is what they have planned but things may change between now and when it goes in

Voyager of the Seas received a major refit in 2015 approx during a extensive dry dock, which included a refresh of all cabins with new carpets, flat screen TV's etc and addition of the Flowrider + other refits and refurbshments in the public areas
Yes I was on it in 2016 and thought it looked great and was amazed that people still complained about the look.

All bets are off...Capt Been has asked to stay on Jewel.
ok thanks
So I am guessing we will have Capt Ryan then in December

Thanks

Saw this posted on another site .Voyager of the Seas will be making her grand Aussie comeback in 2019, boasting a stack of new features following a multi-million dollar makeover – all part of our Royal Amplification programme
-
Had both GS 1324 and OS 1320 on deck 10 of Voyager never had any problem with noise .
-
I would think if it says cruising fjordland .It would be cruising Dusky sounds , Doubtful sounds and cruise into the beautiful Milford sounds.
We have cruised New Zealand 5 times and they all did the sounds and I wouldn't of missed them as they are amazing.
-
We always use Good Company tours as all their tours are so much cheaper than booking through the ship.. If your only after a transfer into Dunedin. They offer a transfer service to and from the port plus a 2 hour tour and free time in Dunedin

Our travel agent booked us a Handicap junior Suite on the Radiance. It was the last suite in our catergory so she booked it. I’m feeling a little guilty about booking it without a handicap but we really wanted a Junior suite for this cruise. Any thoughts?
Firstly I am not having a go at you and I understand that you really want a JS and that it was the TA that booked it. So my problem is only with Travel Agents. I just can never understand how a TA can book someone in any accessible cabin when a person doesn't need it. Unless it was only a few weeks out from a cruise and chances are that it may not be booked by someone that needs one and the cruiseline wants to fill the ship.
My brother is a paraplegic so has to have an Accessible cabin or can't cruise. He always needs to book 18 months to 2year in advance to have any hope of getting a cabin/suite.
So please can you keep an eye out and if another JS comes available can you please swap.

Next May my family will be sailing on Liberty in a Grand Suite and we're slowly getting up to speed on all the perks & benefits of doing do. Several of the ones we've heard about, such as the Concierge Lounge, special seating at the pool & at the specialty restaurants have my wife and I wondering if other suite guests will mind if our children are in those areas with us (ages 12, 10 & 7)? They're very well behaved, for the most part, and we'd really like to share this experience with them, however we don't know if tagging our kids along would be frowned upon. Thoughts?
Yes your children will be allowed to enjoy all the perks with you. Your children will also be welcomed in the Concierge lounge during the cocktail period . They normally make the children a mockcocktail or they can have a soda.My daughters loved being able to join us during this time and were alway very well behaved .Back in 2011 when the rules changed and kids were first being allowed into the CL during the cocktail hours alot older passengers didn't like it. But we have found over the years that most have got used to it and if the children are well behaved they don't have a problem.Hope you all have a wonderful cruise.

Serenade had a door from the bedroom, but it was one big balcony. Three doors total.
Foyer, Bedroom, Living room

I wonder why there are so many differences between the Royal suites on the same class ship.
-
No I don’t think it can and an odd thing is there are two balcony’s, one off of the living room and one off the bedroom and the divider between the two does not open.
okay.thanks
-
Let’s see if this works! Here is a link to photos of it.
Thankyou
Looking at the balcony photo. It looks like it can be opened up to the suite next door.Is this corect as my sister has the suite next door.
-
Serenade only had 1 safe.
We were only 2 passengers
She has a really long walk in closet that goes behind the bed, 2 doors
Plenty of drawers
2 bathrooms, 1 obviously nicer than the other
Dining table only seats 4
Sofa bed is adequate.
Personally I would not put 4 in it, not a fan of having folks sleeping in the living room.
Maybe kids, because I can yell at them to get up or go to bed
Can't find any photos of the Radiance Royal suite but I did read somewhere that the Radiance only has 1 bathroom. I knew they were different cabin numbers but Serenade must also have a different layout to the Radiance.I wonder why or if what I read is true?

We just got home late yesterday and you will love the Royal Suite! It can easily spoil you. Everything worked great and we had the best cabin steward, Mohan!
That's wonderful. Thanks for letting me know
-
We have not sailed in it yet. It is for our Hawaii cruise coming up on May 3rd. I will try and remember to let you know after the cruise.
I hope you had a great cruise
-
Trish,

We stayed the the Royal suite on the Rhapsody for our wedding anniversary. The concierge organised a cocktail party in our suite so we could celebrate with family and friends. He will also organise dinner to be served in your suite. Here are some photo's of the suite. CheersTrish

Depends on the ship and on the cabin/suite.My 19 yr old Daughter shared the sofa bed with her grandmother in a GS on the Radiance because her grandmother thought the sofa was more comfortable than the bed. We had the suite next door and my 12 yr old daughter asked if they could put an extra topper on the sofa .Which they did and she said it was very comfortable then.

Did those of you who did not get contacted check your junk or spam folder?
No reason for them not to send the email, it should be automated.
yes we checked junk and spam folders.
Only once didn't get an email

Akaroa . Being a tender port you need to allow time to get ashore if you book a private tour,Akaroa is about 60 minutes to 90 minutes drive from Christchurch..
Christchurch is a garden city on the east coast of New Zealand's South Island, set on the Canterbury Plains. Flat-bottomed punts glide on the Avon River, which runs through the city centre. On its banks are cycling paths, the green expanse of Hagley Park and the Christchurch Botanic Gardens. In 2010 and 2011, 2 major earthquakes destroyed many city-centre buildings, and the restoration work continues .If you don't want to book a tour to take you into Christchurch .Akaroa is a pretty little town that you can wonder around on foot. Akaroa's beautiful harbour is set in an ancient volcanic crater and is home to some rare native wildlife including Hector's dolphins, little blue penguins and fur seals.
You have options of wildlife cruises and swimming with the dolphins or enjoy scenic walking trails around town. Visit the Museum, Lighthouse, Quaint Galleries and Cafes.
Just a few links on things to do
