  1. Our one experience with the Retreat made us realize that’s it’s selling so poorly that it is often used by guest services as an appeasement for unhappy clients to mend shortcomings in their services/issues during their cruise. Would be nice to see it transformed into some much needed outdoor deck space for everyone.

  2. What special about this burger is that fact that Seabourn paid millions to have the right to cook it. When I first ordered one I requested the mushrooms(?) be taken off and was told there are no variations to the recipe.  If Seabourn needs to cut costs eliminating the association with Thomas Keller would be a great start in my opinion.

  3. Thanks for all the tips!  Good to see finding a great agent isn’t just a given. Dan I agree finding someone that does some volume with lulxury lines is important for us and I feel that it would fill some much needed gaps in our existing service. I also agree that having someone who lives close in this day and age isn’t a big deal.

    Thanks again everyone.

  4. So I know that we can't openly refer agent on this forum but I live in Canada and am looking for a new agent.  We are Platinum members on Seabourn and I do all of my own research and ask for nearly nothing from my agent.  When we booked our last trip of 38 days on Seabourn my wife went down to ask for help with her Indian visa and our agent declined to help her out which I thought was terrible.  I know there are good agents out there and I also know that there are a lot of agents that also give kickbacks.  I am just looking for someone that can help us out, has extensive Seabourn experience and will do a good job.  What is the easiest way for me to research an agent that can fulfill my needs.  We don't live in a large city and don't have great local access to agent.  Thanks in advance for any help on this topic.

  5. They tend to hang around the local rivers waiting for salmon later in the summer. The people travelling in August and September will undoubtedly have the best chances at all of the wildlife viewings. Late summer is the normal time for the salmon spawn which jumpstarts most of the local wildlife. You can however still find sightings although you may have to travel a little further afield. All of which is easily doable within your scheduled dock time.

  6. Those on the Alaska cruise that are visiting Klemtu may want to focus their efforts on bear watching. As this is more or less our back yard Klemtu is locally known for having a regular population of the “spirit bears”. They are a genetically varied black bear that are white. Not sure what Seabourn offers At this port but a friend of mine who works there constantly tells me about the regular sightings of these rare bears. Although the town itself may not offer a ton of activities the surrounding wilderness and bear population would make it worth the effort. This is locally known as one of the gateways to the great bear rainforest and epitomizes what the west coast of Canada has to offer for untouched wilderness thus the lack of amenities to some of these remote ports. Alert Bay would be the best choice for whale watching.
