We brought over the Beyond this past October from Barcelona to Bayonne NJ. Were in Cabin 8130. The noise coupled with strong winds on the crossing made sleeping a challenge. Will never do an Edge class ship again on a crossing.
We were on that sailing and had the same challenge in our cabin - PO 6238. Beautiful cabin, great location, terrific cabin attendant, but it very noisy where we were located. Naps helped, but we are leery to book Edge-class ships at this point and will stick with M and S-class ships for now.

There is 100% chance that she will not be on the Summit. Why would you think she would be on the Summit if she was on the Beyond?
We have been on over 40 cruises on X and never had the same Sommelier. They could be in between contracts, different ship, dining room and etc. Even sailing on the same ship we never had the same one but we have had the same server a few times, Vinod, Felix and Captain Kirk
If she was on the Beyond she will still remain there or be on the Ascent when it sails.
We have never had a bad one. They were always very good.
Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
Actually, she told us she would be on our sailing of the Summit during our last conversation with her.

Has anyone who has sailed on the Summit in the last few weeks had a woman named Windy as sommelier? We met her onboard the Beyond TA in October, and we found her to be fabulous when it came to choices and attention to detail.

Thank you all for your input. My question has been answered. We are just glad to know that we have the option of eating in the MDR with friends no matter where our stateroom is located.

What ship.
Any ship, actually.

Not sure why you'd want to pay for AQ if you're not going to eat in Blu. That's really the reason to pay extra. The Spa isn't worth it..... just pay a daily rate when you want to go.
Either way.... have a blast!
This is just a move-up chance for a veranda no matter the cabin class. I would not pay the regular price for AQ for either Blu or the Spa. We are very happy with the MDR and day passes.

It may have been a situation that they figured they paid for AquaClass and wanted to dine in Blu.
I assume the Spa benefit is important to you?
Good luck
Thank you. I believe yo are correct in that passengers who pay for a particular something would like to be sure to use it, and yes, I would like to have access to the spa. It would be something new experience for me. I can always get a day pass should the bid be denied.

Not sure why they would say that. If sailing as Aqua your main dining room would be Blu but you can arrange to dine in the MDR through the maitre'd. If you are going to do it every night, let the maitre'd in both the MDR and Blu know the first day/night that is what you will be doing.
Jus to make sure you know, your friends cannot join you if you decide to eat in Blu.
Thank you! I knew they would not be able to join us in Blu, but it is a smart move and a courteous one to speak to the maitre'ds to let them know of our plans.

You can dine in the MDR regardless of which stateroom you are sailing in. If you are Aqua class or Retreat class you would not have an assigned dining time but you can go with your friends.
Thanks so much!! We sailed with new friends a few times, but they all said they had to go to Blu. Off I go to put in a bid for AquaClass and above for the fun of it!

I find it to be a lot of fun to bid on a new stateroom, however, I cannot find an answer to my question when it comes to trying for Aqua Spa Stateroom or higher.
W are traveling with friends who have never sailed on Celebrity. If we were to bid on and win a AS or higher, would we not be able to have dinner with them in the MDR?
TIA

Just look at it all on the website. works fine. I have the same problem on the app and I'm leaving 4/1.
Hi, fabby50,
Did you see the menus on the website or just the other items? I cannot find the menus, however, it's not a big deal if they aren't there. I just like to be as familiar as possible with the website.
Thanks!

Feel free add your comments in response to the questions.
I feel like there's a huge stigma against flying in the day of the cruise, and I'd like to hear people's thoughts.
We live in the northeast and have no problem with same-day flights. We have, however, realized how much more relaxed we are when we come down the day before. ☺️

Maybe you will be OK sticking with the Classic package?
I'm sure someone here will know this: whats the last day someone can upgrade on board (assuming it is prorated)? Can a cruiser pay the difference if they want a more expensive drink? And a third alternative, if you can't upgrade per drink: just buy yourself a more expensive drink a couple of days. You might end up saving a few hundred dollars. Have a great cruise.
Helpful answer, JFontaine!
My husband and I never found that upgrading to Premium was worth it for us. We simply paid the difference when ordering Hendrick's for our martinis or a nicer wine for dinner, etc. Even then, we will stick to everything "Classic" if need be. Work within your means, and you will have a great cruise!

As noted, I noticed a Cuber Savings Boost Sale and was able to cancel the Behind the Scenes Ship Tour that I had already booked at $124.99 and rebook at a cost of $89.99. My cruise is in April ‘23.
I changed ours as well for our November 2023 cruise. Thank you for the heads up.

We must have lucked out on our Beyond TA in October. We were given a $20 "coupon" our first day on the ship. Definitely helpful when you are away from home for two weeks.
-
We played shuffleboard on both M- and S- class ships in the past. We loved playing it, especially after dinner, but we haven't seen boards since about 2019. I don't know why Celebrity has done away with them.

Thank you, everyone!
By 10am yesterday, the AI option popped again. I will remember to give any glitch some time to work itself out. 😉
-
Friends and I were discussing choices for various cruises yesterday which included AI in prices. I went on this morning, and, all of sudden, I cannot get the AI page to come up.
I will call Celebrity if I have to, but I thought I would see if anyone here was experiencing the same problem. Thanks!

Thank you for all these very helpful answers. I will now be able to do some "homework" and go from there.

My husband and I enjoy Celebrity very much, but we would like to try RCL. For those of you who know both lines, maybe you can help us narrow down the many choices of ships in the RCL family. It is overwhelming! 😉
We are in our early 60s. We like the M- and S-Class Celebrity ships - 2-3000 pax - and a more traditional setting. We like having children on board, but we don't care for the water slides and such on some of the RCLs. We are looking for quiet spaces for reading and games but love being by the pool for fun and music. We love the Celebrity Martini Bars and shady outdoor settings to for this very-easily-sunburned woman. 🙂
Can anyone help? TIA

I’m curious about the demographics on European cruises.
We have only sailed the Med twice (Hal and Celebrity), but the age demographics were much lower than what we just experienced on the Beyond TA on the non-Retreat end. Both sailings had very few children and many in the 75+ range. Maybe it was because prices were more on the expensive side as mentioned by KKB.

Advantages/Problems/Comments:
The cabin was lovely. I cannot think of anything I would change, and the location was perfect for us as it is close to everything we enjoy - Cafe al Bacio, Martini Bar, Guest Relations, etc.
The cabin was noisy, especially at night due to outside forces. I had a very hard time sleeping with banging and wind noise from outside. The ship was fully booked so moving would not have been possible. Before booking the Edge, Apex, or Beyond again, I would check these boards for better cabin locations to avoid the noise.
