Heading out on a cruise fro Port Canaveral in 30 days. I decided to start getting my paperwork together and just discovered that my passport is expired. It did not even DAWN on my to look. The rest on my family is good with their passports. I doubt I can get a renewal in 30 days. I looked and found my birth certificate. I have both a hospital AND an county one. From what I read below:
Official Birth Certificate and a supporting Government Issued Photo ID, like a driver’s license or an identity card. Please note that hospital Birth Certificates (baby feet Birth Certificates) are not accepted.
...I should be good with my FL drivers license and County Birth Certificate. By Birth certificate is really old original for 1976, will that be an issue?

Yep, we would get the 40% off on the bottles we want to buy, just wondering if we can take them out of the restaurant?

I posted this two years ago and got some good answers but now that our cruise is finally round the corner (March), I wanted to follow up and see if this is still the case. The answers I received two years ago stated that we could buy wine by the bottle with dinner and buy more bottles if we wanted to take back to the cabin. So could I buy 2 bottles of wine after dinner to take to the cabin?
My wife and I drink wine, but do not want to spend a lot for the drink package. We planned on getting the unlimited dining package. It lists 40% off bottles of wine. Based on some wine lists I saw, we could get a decently cheap bottle and get 40% off. It would be about $25 a bottle. What I we finish a bottle, can we buy another? Can we take the unfinish portion to the cabin?
Are there any "gotchas" with this deal? RCL seems to have more suprises in fine print that I remember from Celebrity.

I just checked and our FCC is good through Dec 2021.
-
Thats a smart idea. Does anyone think they will cancel October?
-
Thanks, Thats what I figured.

I am sure this has been asked, but I hear that it might be possible to get a refund from FCC for canceled cruises. I was set to sail on Mariner of the seas March 16 2020. I canceled with their cancellation program and got FCC. It might be a long while till we could use it, especially if nothing is sailing out of Canaveral. HAs any policy changed that would allow it to be possible to get a refund?

I am wondering if we are eligible to get a refund for our FCC. We canceled due to covid and received FCC. Because the cruise was not canceled, I wonder if we could possibly get a refund. I am not sure if we will be able to book another cruise in the timeframe given for the FCC.

Sorry for the late reply. I literally got my refund the day after posting the original post.

We canceled our March 16th cruise as part of the updated cancellation program. I have a cancellation number from the phone call when I canceled. They said all prepaid refundable money (prepaid spa services, prepaid gratuities, taxes fees) would be refunded in 9-10 business days. I received an email regarding the new Future cruise credit as well. I have yet to see anything back on my card of the refundable $$. Of course I should call them, but I wanted to reach out here first and see if this is normal for this situation. Anyone else having issues getting their money back?

Just now, MoniMommy said:
I canceled but got got no cancellation email. I was told I would get one. Anyone get an email after canceling.
I did not and they only said we would get the cruise credit in an email.

I tried calling as soon as the office was open., I tried calling at 5AM EST, 6AM EST, 7AM EST and that was when the phones went online, 7am. I only had to wait about 15 minutes at that point to talk to someone.

I was on hold for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Someone picked up the phone and "CLICK" hung up!!!!!!

Anyone have an estimate of the hold time? I am currently at 1 hour 9 minutes. Earlier today around 3pm EST I was able to get through in about 15 minutes. Anyone think there are more phone staff in the morning / afternoon?
And did anyone hit "1" when the voice says "If you have questions about corona virus, please press 1" ?
I have been waiting too long to get screwed.

Thanks, I am sure our little one will be fine in 3-5

Is there any strict policy on the age group of kids for the kids club. We are sailing in a week on Mariner, and our 5 year old will be 6 in May. I think he would enjoy the 6-8 year old group a lot more than the 3-5 year old group. Especially since he is plays with a lot of older kids at school.

We will be bringing on our two nice bottles.
-
Glad to hear it. I think we can live off two bottles a night without issue. I think that will be the best bang for the buck. Even at $50 a bottle we should come out ahead.

I tried searching but the CC site has become a mess.

Great, Thanks for the clarification. This makes more sense.

I would like to do something simple like get the unlimited dining package from my wife and I. We have 5 year old. But after reading this:
[For Cover Charge Products], Children between the ages of 0-5 are complimentary and ages 6-12 are $10 per child; children must order from the kids menu. Please reserve product for all guests who wish to dine. Adult price will be applied for all guests regardless of age; the difference between the adult price and child price will be refunded in the form of a refundable onboard credit (unless booked with non-refundable credit, in which case OBC will be non-refundable). For Dining Packages, children ages 12 and under are excluded from offer.
It looks like I have to pay the adult price for my 5 year old, and then get a "...refundable onboard credit" Which is what exactly? Not sure why this can not be simple.
Oh No - My passport is expired! Resorting to birth certificate...

I am also applying for a new passport. Thanks for the hint of not using the expedited fee. I will eventually need to use my passport in the future so might as well try.
Already got my new photo since first posting. Wow it really shows how much weight I have lost. Down 35 lbs.
