Is there a particular order for boarding? My daughter and my sister, with no loyalty status, will be in a deck 4 aft facing balcony cabin, while we are next door but have priority. I know we’ll be boarding first, but does anyone have any idea what sort of boarding time they may get?

I have a very old list but it still appears to work going on our last cruises. Deck 4 E on Arcadia 14.00

    Same cul-de-sac.

We are in the worst position because it is L shaped and we are in the corner of the L so the side of the house involved is next to our front garden.  There is currently  a 12 ft high conifer hedge inside their garden but the plans show that it will be removed so that they can put a path between the extrension and our 6ft high fence.

The people in the house in the street below us have told DH that they have also filled in the form to the council because it will affect their privacy too.

Work backwards Josy. Find out what would stop permission. Then start your objections using the guidelines.

  3. We went to bed just after half ten last night. Then hubby's phone started beeping. Son was at the coast and could see the Aurora.

I lay a while then got up to see if daughter wanted us to sit with granddaughter so she could go to beach. Offer was declined, back to bed.

Phone started again. Son was back and the lights were better at home. Got up again. Wow. The sky was red to purple all over. Our three families were sending photos back and forth.

These lasted much longer and were far more intense than on our Northern Lights cruise, and we had good sightings then.

Good luck to everyone checking tonight

    Hi

I have sailed Thomson since 1997,,,54 cruises in all, last one 3 weeks ago,,,I can’t remember Thomson/Tui/Marella ever being anything but All Inclusive.

I also cruise P&O (Britannia in 4 weeks) and always buy the DP,,this time with the 20% discount was a no brainier.

Each to their own I say.

Definitely has not always been all inclusive. I stopped going when it changed and the prices went up.

IMO no. P&O cater for retired people during off peak periods, many that don't drink much which is us now, plus many take medication that doesn't mix well with alcohol. We used to cruise regularly with what was Thompsons but stopped when they went all inclusive as I do not feel the need to subsidise other peoples drinking. If P&O go all inc then I very much doubt we would continue using them.

I could have written this. It describes our reasons exactly

If that is true then there is a logic error in the policy. In the section on spirits it says "when guests first embark the ship" therefore the logic of that statement does not preclude taking spirits onboard at ports of call.

However the policy for ports is any alcohol is stored until you leave the ship

  7. Last year on Britannia. I told the DJ if he looked around the room and most people had grey hair. It was safe to assume they didn't like rap. It worked for a couple of days inside. Out on deck he happily played to himself for a fortnight

We had a 9.35 disembakation time and were off the ship by 8.30.

We came out of breakfast looking for somewhere to plonk ourselves and were just guided off the ship.

It all seemed to be going smoothly, but apparently the lifts were a nightmare, but I suppose they always are on embarkation day.

No Eglesbrech, it's a bit more brutal than that if you're a bit squeamish. You decide on a shape and colour with the therapist -  as near to your naturals as possible. You then get smothered in freeze-cream for 20 minutes or so. When you're frozen you lie on the couch and the therapist cuts into your brows with a machine- operated scalpel and follows the shape you've agreed on.  She then puts the dye into the cut bits and you come out looking like you've got perfect eyebrows! It can be a little bit painful when the first cut goes in but overall it's quite relaxing.  Jane xx

So it is like tattooed eyebrows? Sounds very painful. I think I will pass😉

Strange I found the meaning simply as 'Latin origin. Heavenly or from the heavens'🤫

Just looked again and and I've missed out the N. It should be  CelestiNa. Sorry about that🥴

I think I prefer Celestia. Much more exotic 🙂

On another thread, an esteemed poster expressed the opinion that Ventura has the best glasshouse in the fleet. This set me thinking what our perfect P&O ship would be like. Adding to the glasshouse on Ventura, I would say the aft cabins on Arcadia. If you would like to help us to design the best P&O ship, just quote the previous post and add your suggestion to the bottom of the list. This should collate the list for us all in one place. No arguing please and nothing that is not P&O.

    1 Glasshouse on Ventura

    2 Aft cabins on Arcadia

    3

    3 Cinema Iona

    4 Pool aft Aurora
