Treated me and my mum to cabin no5 twin bed balcony cabin for our colourful coasts cruise, and smoking is allowed on your balcony too, got a picture sent with the info but unable to post on here
there was only cabins 2 and 5 left with twin beds
Great:D, we'll all look forward to your review.

Spoke to someone in thomson today there will be 20 balcony cabins on deck 9 and six on deck 6 ( the cinema is to be removed)
So 26 balconys in all, and they are selling well, they are calling people who have booked 8/9 deluxe cabins to offer them first
So, did you get one mtt????:)

As we can only vote for one
I've gone for the destinations, because I know even if there was a new ship, if it was doing an itinerary I'd already been on I would choose a new destination every time
I agree about the desserts, however I eat far too much anyway so I look upon some bland desserts as a control factor.:o:D
-
......just ONE destination, or destinations, as that will make a difference to my vote.:)
Oh, and thanks S.

So, what do we think is going to go to make room for the balcony cabins on deck 5. I bet it's the cinema, and I like the cinema. Or maybe Explorer's, and, could they go around the front and use the card room and the kids room? I hope it's not the restaurant:eek::eek: because I really really like the restaurant.:D
Would they have to be inset, because I think they would look a bit odd just stuck on the side of the ship.
-
Ooow, you must be the 'favoured one', mtt.;):D
-
Nothing like a good tease! :D
I would have thought if they were introducing a new ship, Celebration would have moved over to ex-UK. We'll see...
That would be acceptable.:)
-
Gibraltar dates for Dream and IE have now been added. No luck yet on Spirit, but I have just found that a ship matching the specifications of Statendam has been added to Norwegian ports. Could it be Spirit's replacement?
You do like to tease, don't you Sailaway;):).
I also very much doubt that a new ship would be put ex UK, far too much to hope for.:D
-
Well we'll find out soon......it's only about two weeks for the new brochure now, isn't it?
-
That's great Linda:), though you've been booked so long, it's only right!;)
-
Are you thinking of booking a cruise then Vera? :D:D
Always thinking about it Linda,;) but not managing much at the moment. Thomson have free upgrades on and I was just pondering if I could go to the Arctic for two weeks without a bath..
I've just re-read this and it sounds bad.........I mean an actual bath, not a wash!!:D

Sorry Jakanne. we live in Chester-le-Street.
There is a Cruise Deals shop in Team Valley, or there was the last time I was there. I'll have to go to see if it's still there next time I am passing.
-
So, it's just shops or internet then.
I wouldn't bother phoning just to be put through to a shop. The last time that happened to me the woman was absolutely clueless.:(
-
I've been using this today so just moving it up the board so it doesn't get lost.
-
I don't think it could do that. Cape Verde is a couple of hours south of the canaries on a plane and it would take three days just to get to the canaries.
Thank-you...........Canaries it is then.
-
Well I'm normally confused anyway so I'm no help at all.:o
BUT, could the Dream get to Africa and the Cape Verde Isles and back in a week ? That would be different.
........oh and please don't start with not sailing from UK again !!!:eek:
-
Didn't we have a poll about this some time ago?
-
You are giving your age away Sweby  I bet they don't have tangerines and nuts at the bottom of their stocking nowadays :D
They don't have stockings, they have sacks:D. Mind you I think they like a stocking aswell.;)

So, there's the news. Thomson Dream WON'T, I repeat WON'T be sailing around the Caribbean next winter, with Thomson Celebration taking over instead, the first time Thomson have sailed it around the region.
And where is Dream going? Well, it would seem Pacific Mexico, but not confirmed yet.
As I was getting excited and carried away with myself :o, I just remembered about last year when Thomsons put the wrong names of the ships in ports.
Just a thought before we write the brochure.;)
-
Montego Bay would be a good option.
Of course, this does all mean that there probably won't be a new destination now for next winter. :(
Still, at least they're offering something different to this winter it seems.
We've sailed out of Dominican Republic and Motego Bay, and if it doesn't make any difference to the ports of call I have to say I would choose D.R. every time. We were straight through the airport and checked in on the dock. Whereas in M. Bay we were ages getting through immigration and the traffic jams to the port were ridiculous.

I haven't done the bike tour, but I've been to Rome and would never try to cycle on their roads!
The best excursion to see only the things you want and have free time would be Rome on your own. You are given a map, but I would advise you to decide where you want to go first and do a bit of research about how to get there. It is possible to walk to all of the main sites or depending on how much you want to see there is a very good ho-ho service.

so guys...I'm booked on dream (thumbup)
after all that work i've booked direct online....none of the ta's (i spoke to) were really playing ball much...(probably because I always book basic and then add on later....unless they offer me an upgrade cheap...which they didnt?)
it is interesting that thoms shops will match the online price for a £20 fee (allegedly because...online bookers are coming into the shops to have various errors sorted?)
surely this should be the other way around? why should those that book in store have to pay for the online bookers errors?
I've triple checked everything....I hope:confused:
they should make the in store booking £20 cheaper than online in the first place....so that if you do book online and need some error sorted you have already contributed the fee to cover the shops costs? (probably wouldn’t look good for thoms online presence?....but you would have thought that thoms would want people to use their shops?)
anyway...I'm a happy bunny....I can relax now (apart from the relentless counting of the days/hours/minutes):(:);)
I knew you were going to do it.:D
Don't worry the time will fly.

Hello and a warm welcome loolybell! :)
Very interesting! I have a feeling that the manager is most certainly correct about Spirit and Majesty, and I think it will probably be Spirit that will go (although I hope it's Majesty myself).
Now, the other part. I have thought that this might be what they plan if they have a new build as going from their current ship to a brand new ship would be a huge leap, one that probably wouldn't work unless they had a different brand. Thomson Sensatori Cruises then?
Let us know if you here anymore! I will keep a look out to see if there is any info anywhere.
BUT..............if it's new, you all said it takes years to get a new ship. What will we do in the mean time?
I also would prefer Spirit........I think we need a poll;):D:D

I haven't been offended by any remark. I have re read posts and don't think I have come across as upset or offended by anything, hope not anyway as I love reading comments on here. I was a bit upset with St Barths changing to a sea day, but that has been put right and I am happy happy happy!!!!
I do understand that experienced cruisers will be looking for new ports, and that is fine. No problems here, honest.
Oh, what a relief. I thought you thought I was being snobby (and I'm common as muck, honest).
Right thats sorted now to get on with more speculation!;):D
Thomson Celebration - Will You Miss the Cinema?
in Marella Cruises (formerly Thomson)
Posted
Well as I've said before I do like the cinema. I think it's a good alternative especially from the UK and sea days.
