  1. I realized later that you don't need to forget the home wifi, just disconnect from it, on the person who will be "receiving" the wifi from the other person. Then try to connect to whatever the sender has named their hotspot.

Just make sure your cellular data is off.

Thanks for your responses.  When we moved, no internet provider was in our new location, so we used our Motorola smartphone hotspots.  Sounds like this is how it would work on a cruise ship.

You can test it at home. Have one of you forget your home wifi, then put their phone on airplane mode (but turn wifi back on). The other one then goes into airplane mode with wifi on, and turns on their hotspot. If the person who forgot their home wifi can connect, it will work on board too.

If you don't want the hassle of forgetting your home wifi, go to a coffee shop and just have one of you connect to the wifi, then turn off cellular data on both and try the hotspot.

That's what I thought.  I've read so many comments on CC that people do this all the time -- even streaming movies through Firestick, etc., when piggy-backing on to another's hotspot device.   I didn't think they were making it up.

Some Android phones have this capability. My husband and I have Google Pixel phones and they both can do it. My friends have Samsungs and they couldn't (they had a Bluetooth sharing thing but they couldn't get it to work). Apparently no iPhones can do it.

I’m assuming on a specific itinerary. What about when that 7-day itinerary is included in 11 different itinerary combinations like ours was when we booked a “combined” 21-day Med cruise made up of three 7-day cruises?

Then your TA needs to do some work and look at all the lists and find cabins that will work.

Voljeep: travel agent says they see what we see online as to what is or is not available.

Your travel agent may not know what they're doing then, or else the cruise you're looking at has very limited rooms available.

In the travel agent site there is a button to see all available cabins in the chosen category.

Saw a price on a cruise I have currently booked cheaper on RCCL website.  Called travel agent and he said price on my room was not any cheaper.  I sent him a screenshot but he said he didn't see that price.  He did 3 way call with myself and RCCL.  Rep stated price my TA was quoting the correct price.  Why is the price online for my room cheaper but no one can see it!  It's not after final payment.

Maybe the price you see online doesn't include the taxes but your TA's does? Or is it a refundable vs non-refundable deposit situation maybe?

As you know, smoking anything in a public space in Canada is illegal.  No bars or lounges, no restaurants, no parks, no patios.  You will have to find a remote area away from public areas.  To be honest, I don’t know anyone who smokes cannabis anywhere but on their own property.

Enjoy your smoke, but please be respectful of others.

This is not the case in all of Canada. I live in Ontario, and here you can smoke in public places outdoors.

"Many outdoor public places (for example, sidewalks and parks)"

OP would need to check on the laws for whatever province they will be visiting.

  8. They do fly you back to Buenos Aires, and leave you in the airport.

The balconies in B1 and B2 categories are sit out balconies. The A1 and A2 have a window that lowers to turn part of your cabin into a balcony. Both have their pros and cons.

The food is pretty fancy but there was a basic steak on the menu every night (until it ran out, which it did toward the end of the voyage). The breakfast and lunch are buffet style so you can have what you like.

  9. I downloaded a copy of the Cruise Care details and it says this:

Cancellation Penalty Waiver refunds are also provided if you are charged a change in occupancy/single supplement charge

as a result of your traveling companion’s cancellation due to one of the reasons cited above. Please advise your travel

agent, Celebrity Cruises or the Program Administrator as soon as possible in the event of cancellation. Refunds will not be

provided for additional charges incurred that would not have been charged had you notified these parties as soon as

    reasonably possible.

So I think you just need to notify Celebrity and you will be covered by the insurance.

  10. I feel like the standard balcony is the way to go. That's what we had. We could pop out onto the balcony when there was something to see. With the horizon balcony, if you want to take a photo you need to open the window, which will then cool down your whole room.

We were on CCL Jubilee two weeks ago - worst bed we've ever had on a cruise.  I can't begin to tell you how firm it was.  Did my back no good at all.  I've recently been diagnosed with mild scoliosis and problems with my L5.  I think prmssk is correct in the assessment re: stress, food and movement while cruising. I've experienced the same results while cruising. T-2:  would love to know specifically which exercises you do.  Lower back issues are really horrible.  I'm currently going through chiropractic treatments, which are helping.  Trying to do everything I can to avoid surgery.

It's a lot of time commitment but I swear by the book "Pain Free" by Egoscue.

  12. I'm on a similar cruise right now and we did the Princess pre-cruise hotel in LA. The pickup from the airport was just the hotel shuttle but we were met by Princess reps and escorted. The hotel was nice (airport Marriott). The next morning was a bit of a hassle as we had to put our suitcases out to be picked up by 8, and then we had to lurk around in the lobby for around an hour waiting for the transfer. But all in all I was happy with it.

In FLL, the airport is so near the cruise port I wouldn't bother doing the Princess package. Also, you probably don't need a post-cruise hotel unless you want to enjoy Fort Lauderdale on your own after the cruise.

Hi, very helpful response. Nigerian here so worried about immigration checks. Will need to change from T3 to T2 and recheck luggage but have all flights on single ticket/reservation. Did you also have to recheck luggage or had only carry-on?

Did you also have to recheck luggage or had only carry-on?

We did not change terminals so I'm not sure if my answer is helpful but we did not have to retrieve and recheck luggage. It just stayed on the plane which we reboarded.

  14. I never drank wine so I'm not sure, sorry! I did order champagne and Prosecco but didn't specify a brand, and was served something bubbly. Lol. I'm not even sure if the champagne I ordered was really champagne or sparkling wine. Hopefully you can report back after you go!
