  1. Thank you for all the replies.

I have a feeling we will go with 9320. We really like to sit out on the balcony and enjoy a bottle of wine late at night and just listen to the ocean. So I think we will go for the biggest balcony we can. The Aft Penthouse suites are just way too expensive for me, not that we can't afford it, more that we can't justify the more than double the cost.

It seems that no matter what balcony you get, there will be a mixture of sun and shade, but the bigger the balcony, the better the chance of having both.

Thanks again everyone - really appreciate it!

  2. Thank you.

If you were next to a corner suite on deck 9, that was probably 9320.

Was it sufficiently sunny enough that you could lay in the sun if you wanted? My wife would probably like to be in the sun, while I was in the shade LOL.

Also, could you see the fireworks from your balcony?

BTW - did you enjoy Bermuda? We have been there 4 or 5 times now and really enjoy it every time!!

  3. Hi all,

Planning our cruise on the getaway and we want to book an aft balcony cabin B1.

I have read a lot about these cabins on the Breakaway, so I'm assuming the Getaway will be very similar.

Most people seem to gravitate towards 11910 or 9320 on the Breakaway.

Of these which is the best for Balcony size, noise levels at night, and shade on the balcony? We probably won't spend much, if any, time at the pool area on sea days, as we prefer to just hang out on our own loungers and read, etc.

Comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

  4. I was the opposite. I didn't receive a confirmation when I booked online. I emailed Tony to say I wanted to make sure he had my reservation and he responded that I should have received an email confirmation. i told him I hadn't so that's why I emailed him. He did verbally confirm my reservation so hopefully I don't have any issues either.

I did send an email to Tony asking for a confirmation of my reservation. It took about a week, but I got one. He was obviously very busy with his business.

I am glad that he did send me the confirmation though, because it was incorrect. However, it is all sorted out and I have the confirmation along with the prices.

I'm looking forward to the jet ski tour, kayak and boat rental - all on the same day!!!

  5. I had to call both places I had reservations with when I cancelled. One boat rental company would not confirm the reservation or cancellation through email - they said "you need to trust us".

Seems like email confirmations may not be the way business is done all the time in Bermuda;)

Anyway, calling is definitely the way to go.

  6. I have seen lots of people do it, but I never would attempt it.

The cost of transportation in Bermuda on busses and ferries is so reasonable that I wouldn't take the risk of renting a scooter.

The Bermudians drive on the left side of the road and the roads are very, very narrow and twisting. I watched a tourist on a scooter turn right at a stop sign, directly into oncoming traffic - just from years of habit I suspect.

I've been on four cruises to Bermuda, and every one had a passenger injured on a scooter - without fail.

  7. I am getting a little worried now. I've always wanted to be in an aft cabin, because I love to walk the promenade and watch the wake of the ship. Since there is no promenade on the Epic, an aft cabin was something I really wanted.

However, I can get a mini suite for the same price right now. They are larger and probably away from the vibration.

Some people say the vibration is only when docking at a port - is that correct?

Any suggestions? We are currently in an aft cabin on the end - 13314.

    Thanks!!
