  1. When you are in a suite I know you get priority boarding but will your room be ready and can you go straight to your room same as FTTF? I haven’t seen anything that clarifies this point.

We will be in a Grand Suite for the first time ever having a suite and I want to be able to go put our luggage away as we carry on. Do I need to try to purchase FTTF? Or with suite can you also go in to your room early? Thanks!

Booking a suite does not give you early access to the cabin unless you book FTTF, or are a Platinum or Diamond guest.

  2. No need for FTTF because you will be platinum when you board. Your Sail and Sign card will be platinum from day 1 of your cruise. When we did our platinum cruise, we were doing a B2B cruise, and we would have turned platinum on the second leg of the cruise. We were pleasantly surprised when we received platinum cards on the first cruise. Since the cruises were linked, we got the benefit early.

    Congratulations on reaching this level!

  3. Thinking of B2B in June, what happens at end of first cruise? Will we have to disembark? If we have same cabin can we leave our clothes etc in the room or do we have to pack it up?

You do have to disembark the ship after everyone else has. When we did this on the Conquest, we only had to go down the gangway and meet with a customs agent who reviewed all of our documents, and then let us go back on. Make sure you take all of the documents that Carnival gives you when you disembark. For some reason the customs agent wanted to see our port clearance form even though we weren't leaving the port. Just take the whole package that they give you in your cabin along with your boarding pass. Some people in the B2B group didn't have the port clearance form since they weren't planning to leave the port. They were delayed until someone from the ship could bring them another one.

You do not have to pack up your stuff if you have the same cabin. You can just leave everything in place. I would contact Carnival to make sure your bookings are linked, and let your cabin steward know.

  4. We were on the Victory over Thanksgiving, and loved the crew. Servers in the main Dining room were great with our grandkids.

Favorite spot to visit in the Bahamas is definitely Half Moon Cay. Get a cabana if you can and be on the first tender. You will have the entire beach to yourself.

  5. If you’re going to have FTTF, or any other form of priority boarding, I would definitely recommend parking at the port. If you use off-site parking, you have to wait for enough people to clear the ship before they will start letting you park, and shuttling you over. Takes quite a while.

  6. If you own 100 shares of Carnival stock, you can request onboard credit for your sailing by emailing a copy of your brokerage statement to guestadmin@carnival.com, or you can fax it to 305 406 6102. You will also need to include your ship, sail date, and booking number. You will receive an email back once approved.

The current program is good for sailings through July 31, 2018. OBC is given based on the number of days of the cruise. For cruises 6 days or less, you get $50, 7 - 13 days, $100, and 14 days or more.

  7. So excited to find your review tonight while at work. Unfortunately I can't see the pics while I'm here, but will get caught up and review them all once I get home.

We're going to be on the Victory for Thanksgiving, and it will be our first time cruising with our daughter and family for their very first cruise. Our grandkids, 8 yo and 5 yo, will be staying with the DW and myself, so we're hoping it all goes well. Their dad, my SIL has been in Afghanistan for the last few months, and the kids don't know he's going to be joining us yet. We're all looking forward to it.

  8. We have been called twice by the upsell fairy, and took it once. We went from an aft-view extended balcony to an ocean suite for about $120 total. It was a great deal. We enjoy having a balcony, and haven't had an inside cabin in quite a while. We like being in the aft of the boat because it's closer to the Lido deck, and the restaurants. Anywhere on a ship is good for us though.

  9. Here is the quote from the FAQs:

Bringing Liquor and Beverages Onboard - Embarkation

Guests are prohibited from bringing water, sodas and other non-alcoholic beverages onboard that are packaged in bottles.

A small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages (i.e., sparkling water, sodas, juice, and milk) packaged in cans or cartons may be brought onboard on embarkation day and must be in the guest's carry-on luggage. A small quantity is considered a maximum of 12 sealed, unopened cans/cartons of 12 ounces each or less per person.
