We are sailing out of NOLA on the Majesty next week. We are Diamond, close to Diamond Plus and have never had the upgrade fairy come to visit.

We have never sailed any cruise line without sailing in a balcony. Im a bit claustrophobic and worried about not having a balcony on Majesty. Is Royal still giving surprise upgrades. I am hoping beyond hope for a suite w a balcony. I know the chance is very small but at least, I have a bit of hope...

    Thoughts??

Royal sent out Royal Upgrade forms out. I checked out how many Suites were available and it said they were sold out. Not sure why they would send out the form if they were sold out.

Thanks for sharing your experience on Majesty.  What a shame RC has made this decision to cancel Happy Hour.  Maybe if enough complaints received they will change back?  I did express my disappointment.  We had planned to do some extended cruising on Majesty.  But instead have booked Vision instead.  At least we know what to expect on that ship.

    Cheers,

    NJ

Thank You for the information. We are sailing on her next month.

This is really upsetting.  Booked for May 2020 and I would not have booked if this was the case.  I was told DL was set up in Viking Crown!

We just booked the Majesty in March. This is very disappointing. I enjoy sitting in the lounge meeting new friends.

I would of booked another cruise if I knew this ahead of time.

Do you think they'll limp along like this for quite some time, or do you think they'll cancel somewhere and do a drydock

It seems like they are shortening the port times again. Pretty soon we'll do a drive-by the islands.

Drastic schedule changes due to mechanical problems on the Allure call for valid consumer complaints.  Our sailing originally had stops in St. Kitts, St. Thomas and Nassau.  Due to the propulsion issues onboard, the itinerary now shows St. Kitts with a five hour reduced time in Nassau, and the cancellation of St. Thomas which was replaced by San Juan with a 2 pm departure.  I have no interest in going back after 6 stops in Puerto Rico.  We were already considering staying on the ship in Nassau.  Now, with the cancellation of the port of St. Thomas and a 2 pm departure from San Juan, there is very little that we can do with children.  Royal Caribbean has refused passengers on non-refundable fares refunds or the ability to change their itinerary even if they have not made their final payments.  Frankly, at this point we are stuck. I think that each and every one of us affected should call and demand compensation.  If an airline cancels a flight due to weather or airport conditions there is no refund.  However, if it is for mechanical reasons they have to compensate the traveler.     Royal Caribbean needs to understand that travelers have other options and they will lose future repeat business.  Their inability to fix a mechanical issue that was known years ago is the cause of this problem.  The cruise contract allows  RCCL to change ports.   Perhaps, we should call RCCL to complain as well as urge our congressmen to change the law to force cruise ships to adhere to the same rules the airlines have been forced to abide by.  If the cruise line's maintenance issues cause a port cancellation, passengers should be compensated.

Got these for our Sept 1 and 8 cruises, nothing yet for our Sept 15th cruise but I expect the same.  No big deal to us.

    Dear Guest,

We look forward to welcoming you onboard Allure of the Seas and have an important itinerary change to share with you for our September 1st cruise

I saw a couple of posts on FB regarding the Allure adjusting it’s itinerarh because it needs to slow down.  The comments suggest an azipod issue.    How does this get fixed?   We cruise in July so I’m hoping it’s done way before that

    thoughts?

There are four of us sailing in July.  We have not received an email as of yet. Maybe it's too early. Hoping things get settled before then.

I wonder how many sailings have received emails about the itinerary changes.

I have not received anything for May 26. I'm worried they will have to cancel some upcoming sailings to fix the issue...

How long can the ship sail with defective azipods?

  9. The hours don't change based on the length of the ship's voyages. The ship has its own schedule, and as stated above, Lounge hours for "free drinks" are based on the fixed traditional dining times.

The cocktail time begins one hour before first seating and ends at the start of second seating.

    5:30 & 8 traditional dining times = 4:30 to 8 "happy hours".

    6 & 8:30 traditional dining times = 5 to 8:30 "happy hours"

The hours apply wherever you get your drinks. (in the Lounge; at a bar with vouchers; where available, in the restaurants with vouchers)

Now and then there is a ship that deviates from this rubric. For a while, Anthem was one of them. Not sure what she is doing now. Haven't been on in six months.

    Thank You

I debated doing this short trip report, but since I have been doing some lately, I didn’t want to leave a gap in my cruises. Plus, I can load up the report with all those Cruise Compasses that no one reads, but at least the information in them will be almost as useful as what shows up on the app. Anyhow, a little iMovie preview before I get to the report. (Don’t be critical, I am an old person struggling with technology)

I always read the compasses. It's a good way to plan your vacation.
