  1. Calling on Bonaire on Wednesday 23 January, 2019 from 9am - 7pm. Wife and I wanted to rent the 2 person golf carts from Bonaire cruisers, BUT they are sold out (we're on the wait list). Wondering if there is a scooter rental option. We don't want to do their 4-person guided tour. We'd appreciate ANY advice. Thanks, fflashh

Consider that 3500 people embark on Divina every week or so...and very few complaints.  Divina is a gorgeous ship and you will enjoy her I am sure.  You will be impressed with the design and decor everywhere you go.  The Divina exudes a luxurious atmosphere.  I find it more relaxing to go where the crowds are not.  Be sure to look in on the smoking lounge next to the casino.  The room is one of the best looking rooms onboard the ship and it is usually empty...well worth a peek even if you can’t stand smoke.  You can actually win in the casino...unlike some of the other mass market lines.

One of the best things on Divina is the nightly music in most of the lounges.  The lively international mix is a welcomed change.  If you are a people person you will be sure to meet some interesting people from all over the world.  If you enjoy your wine and cocktails then upgrade your drinks package.  And don’t forget the pizza and the gelato!  Remember the pizza place offers better pizza than the cafe.

Enjoy...and don’t pay any attention to the nay sayers.  Every cruise is a great cruise.  It’s up to you to make it so.

Thank you for the info, CGTNORMANDIE

CGTNORMANDIE, would you be so kind as so send me the link of your Divina review? Thanks in advance . fflashh

  3. Two +/- 60 y.o. (a married couple) with about one dozen Caribbean cruises, wondering what to expect on our 20 Jan. 2019 sailing on the Divina for 11 days. We have done Carnival, Princess, HAL, NCL, Disney and Celebrity. Probably Celebrity was our fav. We have a "drinks on us" package, with a "fantastica" balcony. Sailing to the Southern and Western Caribbean this time. We enjoy relaxing, music shows, sea days (as we've been to most ports) partying and beach/pool time. What is the Divina like? She looks big and gorgeous to see in port, but what kinda "flavor " should we expect? Do tell. Thanks, so much for any input, fflashh

  4. :)

Fflash we have stayed in cabin 13052 several times and loved it.

The balcony is huge and yes the overhang is a lot longer but we enjoyed it when it rained we could sit out there and watch it without getting wet.

The bed was by the bathroom and the couch was by the balcony door.

The room seemed much bigger than most other balconies that is why we always booked 13049 or 13052 .

Also just to the right of your cabin is a small elevator bank that is hardly ever used . It came out at the Black crab Restaurant.

As far as noise not really noticeable.

If you need any other info I will be glad to answer them,

Have a great day and great cruise

    Gerry

Thanks so much Gerry. All the info is appreciated and probably "sealed the deal" for us. Good news and a swift reply. If q's come up, I'll ask you. Again, thanks fflashh

  5. Skier52, you helped me a few months ago with my stateroom on the new Seaside. Thanks again. We are now on deposit for an 11 nighter on the Divina. Never been on her. We picked 13052 because its diagram shows a HUGE angular balcony. We like high decks and close proximity to elevators which this selection has. But really worried about noise from above. And concerned that there is too much of an overhang above giving the balcony a cave-like feel. Is balcony really big or are diagrams misleading? Bed by bath or balcony? Any other tidbits appreciated. Your thoughts? Thanks, fflashh

  6. Looks like from diagrams that this stateroom has a HUGE angular balcony. This is why we (married couple 60 yo) put a deposit on it, a 11 nighter in January . But I'm worried about noise, mostly. I can't tell just what is above it. We like higher decks, closeness to elevators, and a seemingly large balcony, but is there a prominent overhang just above it? Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks, fflashh.

  7. Wondering..... We (wife & I) were thinking of a place with drinks and a beach within walking distance of the MSC pier. Are there any suggestions anybody has? Probably after we do whatever tour we decide on..... Local establishment, or tourist place like Margaritaville would be nice if it's there. Any knowledge appreciated. Thanks. fflashh.

  8. I believe that there are 3 piers for cruise ships in Coz. Which does MSC Seaside use? What is within walking distance? 5 ships total in port that day (23 May, 2018). Any suggestions for just walking off the ship either before or after a possible bar hop tour? Thanks, fflashh.

  9. With the jeep tour was this completely driven by their driver or is this the company that makes you drive in and out of town to avoid union rules? Itinerary sounds good, just not keen on driving on Cozumel after four shots and a cooler of beer.

The website you linked suggests they do use a bus so I presume you chose the jeep option?

:confused:I believe this is the same tour wife and I took +/- 2 years ago, and we had Gizmo as our driver. He was GREAT! But yes, I had to drive to the first stop (the tequila factory) where he took over for the rest of the day. Not sure what would have happened IF wife and I both declined to drive or were unable to drive a stick shift. We were the only two on the tour with Gizmo. Tour was super and are probably going on it again next week. Lots of fun and informative, too. Still, not convinced why we had to drive initially. fflashh.

  10. What is the "set" dress code for the 7night Seaside for this spring / summer sailings? We sail May 19th. Is it: 2 formal nights, are there "Gala nights" additionally, and are there also theme nights for the MDR? Confused also as I read these threads. fflashh.

  11. Did the Bamboo rafting tour a while back with Chris from Chris Jamaica Tours. After that he took us for a sight seeing tour which lasted about an hour and a half through the Fern Gully and also for some panoramic views of the city and then to an authentic jerk place for lunch then left us at a nice beach just 2 minutes walk back to the ship. it was a very relaxed ans chilled day.

    Thanks, cruizze20

  12. We were surprised too. Just an open Jeep, cooler of beer/water, my wife & I, and Gizmo our guide. We met him on time and he said we had to walk a few blocks to the jeep b/c of rules / regulations!!! He also said that we were the only 2 and asked if either of us could drive a stick shift. Then he said, "regulations" he wasn't allowed to drive in downtown area, or something like that! He threw me the keys (and a beer) and gave me turn by turn directions to the first stop, a tequila making facility. Wow, were we ever questioning our decision! Gizmo drove after that, and it was a super excursion! Very funny, informative, good driver, and dropped us off right at the pier. Looking to book again for this month! Can't remember whom I booked with, it was in 2016 and I'm searching for help on which company we took. I think we went to 4 or 5 places. Any feedback ? Thanks, fflashh

  13. Wow Pete, you are a wealth of info!!! Probably should be paid for all of your info. Truly amazing and helpful to so many. A minute of your time, please. First MSC cruise (13th overall) on the 19 May, 2018 sailing of the Seaside (15 days away). Got balcony cabin 15144, and would love your thoughts and insight. My wife and I prefer a high deck first of all, and probably our biggest concern is if there may be considerable noise from Deck 16 above. Also, wondering about cabin set-up (bed by bath or balcony) cabin pics, square footage and any view obstructions or severe overhangs. Once again Pete, thanks so much, fflashh(y):ship::cool:

  14. While DW(62yo) & myself (59) have been to Nassau each twice before, what can anyone suggest to do considering that we have to be back onboard by 3:30PM. We will be sailing on MSC Seaside, and docked in Nassau friday, 25 May. Don't care for Atlantis, have done a day pass at Riu before (don't think enough time this stop). How is that beach bar (name unknown) where you rent a chair & umbrella and barter(?) over a drink / food package? I think this may be a solution. Anyone experience this? Comments, please. Thanks, fflashh:confused:
