  1. Sailing on the Navigator in just over a week, and looking at the UDP since we'll do Jamie's (prob twice) and Chops. It's only offering me an 8:30pm reservation on Day 1, with no other options - although if I was just gonna book one of the other restaurants on their own, there are lots of available time slots. Will it be tough to change the reservation to an earlier seating once on board because we have the plan? 8:30 is just a little late for us. Before I commit to it, just thought I'd see if anyone has had an issue with this in the past.

  2. DH and I will be taking 2 cruises in December, back to back but on different ships (Navigator and Explorer) out of Miami. Would anyone know the process for getting from one ship to the other? Can we walk between the two ships? I'm not familiar with PoM, so not sure how far apart the ships dock, or if you're permitted to walk around the Port. I assume we'll have to be off the Navigator long before we're able to board the Explorer. Wondering what we do with our luggage in between? Can we drop it off early to the porters?

Appreciate any guidance. Really wanted a B2B on the Explorer, but it's chartered the second week we're travelling.

  3. Hi everyone,

Just booked the July 29 Summit cruise on an outside stateroom guarantee and have been assigned 2153 (much more quickly than I anticipated!). I notice it's close to the aft of the ship, directly under the Tuscan Grille. I believe TG is only open for dinner (and maybe lunch?). Just wondering if I should be concerned about noise above? We usually like to sleep in a little, but otherwise will be out of the cabin until bedtime.

Would appreciate feedback from anyone with experience in or near this cabin.

    Thank you!

  4. Ah, good to know. Thank you Bob! I didn't realize there were 'old' and 'new' rules. Haven't been on the boards much. So perhaps the system automatically just shows the full deposit amount even if I don't need to worry about it? The final total shows the $200 deposit we put down, and the correct final total owing.

Sad not to be doing the 12 night Baltic cruise we originally booked, but 11 nights in the S. Carribean will help console me eventually.

  5. So my memory is playing with me... we booked this on-board on our May cruise, not December. When I called today the rep told me because I was before final payment, I could change the cruise with no penalty..... my concern around his response on the deposit is that he seemed fairly new and had to put me on hold a few times to ask his manager questions, so just want some reassurance from RCI 'pros' that I can rest easy on this one.

  6. Hi everyone,

DH and I booked a June 2018 cruise while on-board the Harmony in December, and decided this week to move it to a different cruise in December 2018 instead. When I called to change it today, I asked the Rep if the $200 deposit we put down on-board was still enough to secure this new cruise (Serenade Dec 10). He said it was. When I look at the booking online now, it shows $940 owing Feb 1. I'm a little nervous my cruise will be cancelled, but there's a queue to speak to a rep. Anyone know if you need to put a full deposit down when you change a cruise this way?

    Thank you in advance!

  7. I'm looking at a 12 night Anthem cruise for Nov. 2016, and just realized it's Thanksgiving a few days prior (Thanksgiving is Nov. 24 and the cruise leaves Nov. 27). Since it leaves as the holiday weekend is ending, what are the chances it will be full of kids? I don't dislike children, but having been on cruises with many kids and few kids, I prefer fewer. Thoughts?

  8. Yes, the Anthem is the ship we're looking at this time. We've never done a cruise longer than 7 nights, so excited by the prospect of 12. Just trying to factor in the variables....Easter...possibly spring break for some.... That being said, not knowing how the ship is laid out, if most kids are in Adventure Ocean or the sports area, we may never see them anyhow!

  9. After checking out the latest Anthem sale, DH and I are considering the 12 day cruise over the Easter break. For those who have sailed over a holiday (we haven't), should we assume there will be a large number of kids on board? Will the fact that it's a 12 day cruise have an impact do you think?

DH and I don't hate kids or anything...we just don't want to be outnumbered by them :)

We were considering a cruise later in April instead, but this sale has us saving $800 off the cruise and adds a $100 OBC which makes it appealing.

  10. Thanks for this....I got the promo email as well. It's our 10th anniversary trip, and we were hoping to take it in April as that's our anniversary. I was looking at the end March-early April cruise, but I'm afraid with that being Easter, there will be tons of kids on board (DH and I don't have kids).

Am I crazy for hoping that in another month or two, they'll run a similar promotion for April-June cruises?

  11. It's been a while since we've cruised, and I can't remember....if I put a deposit on a 2016 cruise now and the price drops before final payment, I can call and get the price of my cruise dropped, correct? Is there anything that can be done after final payment (on board credit, etc)? Debating booking an April 2016 Anthem cruise, but hopeful there will be another sale before then. If I book an inside and the price on a balcony drops before April, I can switch to one if there's one available...right?

Also - is it just me, or is the deposit on Anthem huge? It's asking for $960 for two of us in an inside cabin!

  12. Curious since you've sailed on Celebrity as well, which line you prefer? We have sailed the Glory before and enjoyed it. Looking at either the Breeze or Celebrity Equinox for a December sailing since both are going to ports we've never been to before, but can't decide which to choose. We're in our 40's love good food, but love entertainment too. I can't find much about the quality of Celebrity entertainment. Would appreciate your feedback. Thanks!

  13. Is walking up to the dining room and asking to be seated without a reservation no longer an option on Quantum/Anthem? We did it on Oasis and never waited more than 15 mins or so...which we passed enjoying a drink at the bar and people watching. Is it required to book in advance now? Or just recommended?
