Ugh. Hope that doesn’t mean those horrible British-style breakfasts with barely cooked fatty bacon and watery scrambled eggs.

Better than the overcooked cardboard bacon and rubbery scrambled eggs of US-Style breakfasts

  2. House wine was alright, food was acceptable although many were complaining, plenty of choice or if not up to scratch the table waiters would offer an alternative.

Hygiene espicially from the foreign guests was awful.

Entertainment was generally very good although i agree it took an age to get going due to the multi language introductions much better the the tui screeching wanabee entertainment team and naff productions.

above the pool deck drink service was little or non existent so better to get your own drinks rather than die of dehydration, many bar staff have an attitude problem a session in charm school would be appropriate.

Cabins are good and kept to a high standard.

Ship is more like a passenger ferry picking up and dropping off everywhere en route so getting on/off at ports is sometimes murder.

English bangers were the best ive had on any ship.....top marks.

So all in all get your own drinks rather than wait for the poor service

Had too giggle at the Italians wrapped up in body warmers and scarves thinking they looked cool in tempratures reaching the high 70's.

    would I go back,probably not.

What "foreign" guests are you referring to?

  3. Chris, thank you so much for that review - wonderful job with the pics and so much info! I'm debating whether to book Meraviglia or Seaside for 2020 (first world problem) and it's so helpful reading these in depth reviews people take the time to post. :)

    Elizabeth

I've not done the Seaside so can't compare but the Meraviglia is a nice ship.

  4. Thanks for the full review. I like the idea of posting/hosting at tumblr. It gives you the ability to edit and insert as many pictures as you want. I only wonder if there is a way to automatically sort in reverse chronological order.....it's also very interesting to read that you had the butlers unpack your luggage. I remember reading a very opinionated discussion about that here....

Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. Tumblr has a very low barrier to adding and editing posts and it has good apps if you want to add posts on a tablet. I can't see if there is a reverse sort on posts but you can see a summary of all posts on one page by going to https://meravigliayc.tumblr.com/archive - I hope this helps.

I have no qualms about getting my luggage unpacked. The butler actually expected it. I put my smalls in a bag and unpacked those before he unpacked for me,

  5. Thank you Chris. No need to pull out the planners just for the classes (although I'd love to see them, I'm getting close and love looking at pages and pages of daily planners), I know they have the class I'm interested in and that there is a fee, but I'm not sure what the fee is.

The daily planners just say they they offer them for a charge but not what the charge is and as I was too busy eating and drinking I didn't get to go to them :D:D:p

  6. We’re booked on her Oct 2019 in YC. Our suite is in front and was wondering if there will be an issue with wind. We’re in 15001 Deluxe Suite. Would love to see what it looks like but have been unable to find any postings. Thanks

Looking at the ship I think they may be partially glassed in but I can't say 100%

  7. Did you notice any decorated doors on the ship and did you do any for-fee fitness classes?

    Looking forward to the review.

    Hi Tina,

Didn't see any decorated doors but I know they had fitness classes such as static cycling and stretching. I'll see if I can dig out the daily planner to see what else there was.

  8. We came back from the Meraviglia cruise from Genoa to Hamburg on Sunday where we were in the Yacht Club. All I can say is that it was an amazing experience and I will be posting a review shortly.

In the meantime, any questions then please ask.

  9. Hijacking this thread but how did you like the Meraviglia (and YC) - would like to book for 2020 and debating between that and Seaside (which I am on in 2019 but figured with $99 deposits maybe I should book something) Thank you!

Meraviglia is a massive ship and one of the few that have a promenade down the centre which they did use quite well. There always seemed to be loungers available on the main decks (except for the comfortable ones) but the bar near reception did actually feel like you were in reception itself rather than in a bigger lobby bar. The theatre shows were a bit hit and miss - I think they spent the entertainment budget on the Cirque du Soleil.

The YC (after a couple of hiccups) was amazing. We were both really upset to leave. The service was personalised and we made some good friends with the staff and a few passengers on board. The deluxe cabin was also huge. We are already looking at the YC for Meraviglia for next year.

I am in the process of writing a review.

  10. Distance from the airport is St Lawrence Gap - about 20 mins drive

Is there transport available from the airport to St Lawrence Gap

Distance from St Lawrence Gap to cruise terminal - about 35 mins drive

And any comments on either hotel or St Lawrence Gap - St Laurence Gap has a lovely beach. Not as busy as others. Not sure about the hotel as I haven't stayed there but it seemed nice when I walked past.

Taxis are quite easy to get from airport and I'm sure the hotel can reserve one to take you to the cruise terminal in Bridgetown.

  11. Can answer some stuff, we´ve been on the Meraviglia six weeks before.

Yes, "Ethnic corner", but I guess real Indians would not call it authentic, same with Chinese.

Worst idea I ever heard. The pasta on the Meraviglia was best I ever had on a cruise. 8 from 10 pasta dished were just excellent, only their Lasagne still is disappointing and I am not a Gnocchi fan. Really think twice before you skip one pasta dish!

    Sure.

I don´t think so, the slides were fine End November.

Yes, I never saw it closed for wind.

Let´s see what cruiserzockel says :)

My partner got told off one day for getting chicken nuggets and chips from the children's station in the buffet :')

  12. I would be really annoyed if non-YC members were let in to the YC. I have paid for a particular product and this dilutes that.

This would be the same as someone in Business Class on an airline inviting all their friends from Economy into Business Class. This would also matter to me as I have paid extra and why should someone who has not paid be allowed to use it for free?
