We stayed in grand suite with 3, my 17 year old daughter had the sleeper sofa, she said is was pretty comfortable. We had no problems sharing the bathroom between husband, daughter, and me. We enjoyed the concierge lounge in the evening for cocktails and lounge has a great view. One of the great perks of staying in a suite. The sofa bed size looked like at least a full. 2 children should have plenty of room of they don't mind sleeping in same space.
Master bed has a heavy privacy curtain we used.
We chose southbound cruise to do landtour first.

Megacruiser, I am very much interested in the Solarium bistro menu and wine list. Thanks for continuing the review. Laura

Highly recommend Ken, chartered his services in July 2013 and the family said it was an excellent experience. Lots of different salmon caught. Just had the last of the pink salmon tonight.

Enjoyed your review and pics of Legend. I hope she stays as clean as your pics look. I will be on her in April 2015. Thanks

Oh darn I hate that they aren't showing, I copied and pasted them from photobucket. Looking at pics of 1066 looks like both have nice balconies. I think I will have to try 1066 if available on a future Radiance class ship.

My husband, daughter and I were in 1556 July 2013 and it was the perfect grand suite location. The balcony offers privacy, could not see our neighbors or they see us, and the balcony had shade; the only time we heard noise from centrum was during the 70's show but it did not last past 11:00. Across the hall at edge of centrum is the card/game room. It was very quiet. My vote is for 1556.

second bedroom: no TV, 2 twins that together make King and 2 bunks
living room with couch made into bed
balcony
I wish I had gotten more pics of living area and second bathroom-it has a shower only, master bedroom and living room both have TVs, also had a small dining table and 2 chairs in living room close to balcony door

Haven't stayed in 2 bedroom suite on Brilliance but my mom and brother's family stayed in 7672 on Radiance in July 2013. They loved it for all the room in living area and 2 bathrooms. My mom in master bedroom and my brother, sister in law, and niece and nephew in extra bedroom.

Lisa, I have a question about lady's locker room in fitness area. Does it have a sauna and stream room like Brilliance and Radiance? Thanks

It is easy to upgrade to Tundra wilderness tour. Your tourguide will meet you first evening and hand out a pamphlet of all extra excursions. I had to give her the number of people in my party that wanted to upgrade to TWT by the next morning. The tour was well worth it. It seemed all fellow vacationers that wanted to upgrade did, didn't seem to be a seat limit.

So we should be ok with 4 suitcases, two 29" that will be stored that we will only need on the cruise and the other two 24" plus one carry on for the land portion that they will deliver to our room each night.
I sure wish I could learn to pack and make due with just a carry on for the entire trip like I'm recently read here on CC but I'm afraid that day will never come.
We should not have to get anything out of the stored bags.
Unless they have new restrictions from last year, you will be OK. RCI contracts the Alaskan land tour portion out to another company. As of last season, the employees said things were about the same.

Your cruise director will give you 2 different tags, one for luggage to store way under the tour bus and not needed until the cruise, and the other for the piece of luggage you want to be taken to your hotel room each evening. If you happen to need something in one of the stored bags, you can ask the bus driver and he can get that luggage for you at next stop. The bus follows The Wilderness Express Train to next hotel. I was amazed at the efficiency of our driver always having our bags in our hotel room before we got there. We stayed in 6 different hotels on last years tour #13.

another vote for grand suite 1556, I was in it on sister ship, Radiance, and I thought it was the perfect location

Just 5 days shy of surprising my husband with his Christmas gift of our first cruise. My 11yr accidentally let it slip today. I had purchased a toy yacht to wrap with the set sail pass. I haven't told him where we are going so that will still be a surprise but still bummed as that was his only gift other than stocking stuffers. Only 9 days to go to Liberty.
What an awesome gift, I would even forego stocking stuffer gifts for one cruise. I have a feeling your husband will to.

Isn't that the key to it?! They know they have the demand summers and school vacations so the value isn't quite as good, but gosh, I don't really see any place you can travel these days and get a bed, transportation, food and entertainment for such a reasonable price!
Here's a another thing...you could not really expect to walk into a bar or lounge and just sit there without a drink at any other resort or hotel; yet you can walk into any bar or lounge on a cruise and you don't need to drink to use the space or enjoy the entertainment.
agree, Royal Caribbean is my choice for a "I can afford that vacation"

I'm on vacation!

Cindy, my family and I had a fantastic land tour and cruise. Your review and tips put me at ease. Because I did all planning prior to the trip, I was able to relax(but only after making sure everyone was on time for excursions). I would definitely do land tour 13A again. Thank you again, Laura

Cindy, thank you for the comprehensive report on land tour 13. I feel much better knowing more details. We leave Saturday.
