  1. I have dresses I would like to post but have had too long for them to be on any store's website, and I don't have any pictures of myself in them. Will pictures on a hanger work? I'm not sure how well they'll really translate though.

To the poster with the 16W dresses-I have a couple to post and would love to see yours! I run from a 14 to 18 right now depending on the cut.

I would be interested in anything 16-18w.

  2. I would like to know more about these outfits.

    Laura

One is a jones new York black dress with a small amount of sequins on the dress and is a-line. I'm 5'4 and it is about four inches below my knee. I also have a black flared jones new York skirt that is lovely with a lovely top. I will try to take pictures of the outfits, I just have to figure out how to do it. Both outfits have been worn on previous cruises and size 16w.

  3. Yup

I recieved mine and had already asked, by email how much postage was and sent a cheque as soon as the package arrived. I also let the giver know when i recieved the item, and they let me know when they got the cheque. When I sent them out same thing.

Its a great way to recycle!

Both were sent in flat rate boxes USPS

So we leave our email addy after an interest is shown? I must want to make sure that this is safe. Sorry for all the questions.

  4. Shorbur

We try to post a picture and size. People will let you know if they are interested. then usually you take convo to email re address etc. The reciever sends the cost of postage when they recieve the item.

I recieved a couple of beautiful dresses a year or so ago. wore them the reoffered them.

Ok, thanks. I have no idea how to post pictures. I will goggle it. But I have a few outfits that I would love to share.

Just one question because I'm not sure. I ship the item to them and they in turn reimburse me for the shipping costs?

  5. Dear Porthopper.

I live in Australia, and different time zones. I would dearly love the chance of an evening dress. I would stay awake just for that chance. What time do you post them?

My mother told me about how generous you are by offering the outfits to members of the cruise site. Myself recovering from cancer, and my parents are going on our first cruise. My father who had a stroke 5 years ago, and my mother who has PBC, are looking forward to our maiden voyage :) We are sailing in February next year so plenty of time to acquire formal wear. So I thought Id see if by chance Im fortunate to receive one of your dresses.

    Regards Rochelle

I have a few 16w evening cocktail outfits that I can offer. How would I go about recycling them? They are just sitting in my closet.

  6. Hello ladies,

I sent 14 packages last week. I would appreciate if you could let me know when you received your package. In the past, there were few of you who never bother to let me know.

In order for other people to get a chance to receive my things, please do not ask for more than one item.

    Thank you.

This is size medium Tadashi. I wore it one.

Wow I love those shoe and interested. My email addy is shorfi111@gmail.com. Thank you.

  7. Honestly, I wouldn't let them roam at any age. I just read that article about victims of cruise ships, and it is very frightening. Even made me afraid. These incidents happened mostly with adults. To let down your guard on a cruise ship is not safe. Predators cruise too...

Giving further thought to this...I would let them have freedom to go about...but I would be within eyesight of the children.

  8. I just purchased the Birthday decoration package for my hubby's birthday cruise. I did not choose the one with the cake, just the cabin decorations, for a cost of $31. I think it will be a nice surprise when we get to our cabin, and it is decorated. At least I hope so anyway!! But for $31 I will take that chance! Anything to make my hubby smile..... :)

I purchased the anniversary decorations for our upcoming cruise. No doubt my husband will be surprised when we get to our cabin. Like you... I'm looking forward to seeing the smile on his face.

    Happy cruising!

  9. Girl, I wish I was brave enough to wear my hair that short! It looks so freeing! Of course, when I think of Halle Berry, I think of her short pixie do, even though she has been seen with chin to shoulder-length hair and longer. If we are talking the pixie length, I wouldn't do anything special.

If you swim, I would just wash it with a gentle shampoo afterward (got to get the salt water out) and then condition/detangle, moisturize, and then add some definition. If you are looking at Oyin Handmade products in specific, this is the routine I would use:

#1 any gentle shampoo. If you want to use Oyin's Honey Wash, remember that it is a Castile soap and doesn't lather very much, but cleanses quite effectively.

#2 Honey-hemp Conditioner. Apply liberally, let it sit while you wash the rest of yourself, brush/comb through, and rinse. Then put a quarter-sized dollop in your hands and run it through your hair without rinsing.

#3 Hair dew. Run through your hair, brush or comb through.

#4 Shine and Define. Run through your hair. Let air dry. Finish with a sparkly clip, barrette, or hair band. Love your curls!

I would only do this once a day, after whatever swimming. If you are going to swim multiple times, you may want to run some Honey-Hemp through your hair between times just to protect it. At night, just cover with a scarf and refresh your curls in the morning by running wet hands through.

Yes, it's freeing, but a lot of work. As a matter of fact, I have a hair appointment after work to get it trimmed and colored (black). I go every two weeks. My hair used to curl, but since I did chemotherapy a few years back, my hair came in coarser, and it is just not the same texture. I miss it, but, I'm alive...lol...

Where do you purchase these hair products from?

  10. Just got my Oyin Handmade samples in the mail yesterday and gave them a try. Love them all so far! I tried:

    Hair Dew

    Burnt Sugar Pomade

    After Bath Oil

I also have the Honey Hemp Conditioner and will probably try it this weekend. Really liking the Hair Dew and Pomade. My hair is full of moisture without feeling heavy or greasy. And the After Bath Oil makes my skin feel like silk. It lasts a long time too. I'm very happy with the products. :)

I don't have long hair, but it is probably the length of Halle Berry. I love wearing it short, but would love to cruise without having to worry about getting my hair wet. My husband is a swimmer, unlike myself, but I would love to enjoy the pool with him. Any suggestions on what to do with short hair?

  11. 8332 is a regular balcony cabin.

if you upgrade-- upgrade to what? where?

    whats the price difference?

how much time will you be spending in the cabin?

how many people are going to be in that cabin?

Just me and the husband. Upgrade to a suite and the cost is about $49 per day. Oh, and on the sea days he will probably just relax on the balcony and I will be exploring the ship.

  12. Boring!!!

When we cruise we love to fake people out. We will go out of our way to be someone else! Last cruise we were doctors, once we worked for and undisclosed federal agency... As you say these people will never know who you are or what you do... Besides if you tell them your travel agents they bug the crap out of you...:)

This time I think we will be a professional golfer and wife, people eat it up...

This is you captain speaking, or is it!!!:D Enjoy C.G.

That is too funny. I do the same thing...on one of my cruises, our entire group were doctors, and our tablemates were shocked...don't know why, but they were impressed...lol
