  1. Last year during our fall foliage cruise I lost my passport in Saguenay but did not know it until we had left port on our way to Quebec to depart the ship to fly home to Texas. I went to the service desk on the ship and they immediately started to track down my passport or figure out what I would have to do to get me through customs at the airport. Needless to say I was frantic. As it turned out someone had found it and turned it in to the authorities in Saguenay. RC had them put it on a bus so I would have it hopefully before we left the port to transfer to the airport. We were traveling with 3 other family members that had to board the transfer bus without us while we were taken to a waiting area at the pier to wait for the bus. We hadn't been there 10 minutes when a port authority person brought my passport to me and we made the transfer bus with the rest of our family. Everyone from Saguenay to Quebec Port Authority to the RC staff were wonderful and reassuring that everything would work out. Rest assured that will never happen again.

  2. My husband and I are doing a pre-cruise from Anchorage for the first time which we booked through Royal Caribbean. My question is if it's possible to make alterations to the land portion. We would like to ride the train from Gridwood to Seward rather than taking the motor coach. I understand we would have to buy the tickets ourselves. Just didn't know if anyone had made a change like that.

  3. We are booked for May 2017 11 night precruise starting from Anchorage. We have never done a precruise and am wondering just how it works. We have booked our flights ourselves so am wondering if RC will provide transfer from airport to hotel free of charge. Will any meals on the land portion be included in the price. I read something about having to put your luggage outside your hotel door each night, is that true?

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

  4. Sailing the Serenade of the Seas September 12th this year. Understand it is the Serenade's first trip for Canada/New England but was wondering if there were any compasses that would give us some kind of information for this type of sailing. Any and all information would be great fully appreciated.

Spending 3 days in NJ prior to cruise and will go into Manhattan Sunday and Monday to do the hop on hop off bus.

Never been on the Serenade so pictures of the ship would be nice. We have a starboard OV cabin. Where to be for sail away suggestions would be helpful.

Formal nights on a 10 day?

  5. We are doing the fall foliage 10 day cruise from Cape Liberty and was hoping to see the cruise compasses for this cruise if any are available. Also would like to know when are the formal nights on a 10 day cruise. We always do 7 day cruises so this will be a new experience for us. Never been to the east coast either. So looking forward to this trip.

  6. After looking at the other locations my concern with them would be getting us and all our luggage to them on our own. This would not be do able without outside help. Not sure if the other hotels offer airport pick up. We are locked into flying into Newark as we had a great price and have purchased out tickets.

  7. I will check into all recommendations from everyone. It is easy at times to take texted information in the wrong context. Sorry if I got a bit short with mine. Carol I do really appreciate you trying to help us since none of us have ever been into that part of the US and we do want to make the best of our time there. We can cancel our reservation at Country Inn without penalty if it comes to that.

  8. I appreciate your input Carol but we are not going to pay $1500.00 for 3 nights at a hotel. It was my understanding that there is a nice mall close to our hotel that we can walk to and we will not be hanging out in the lobby of the Country Inn so no problem there.

As for the independent drivers, we have a guide already lined up unless we find something better.

Thanks again for all your help.

  9. Pier transfer is $20.00 each extra for a one way transfer but it would be more, I think, to take 2 cabs to the pier with all our luggage. Even with that additional charge it is an acceptable amount to us. We depart the ship in Quebec so a one way is what we need.
