  1. PORTS:

    1. RAVENNA - Saw it don't need to return - Been there done that

    2. SPLIT - Would go back in a second

    3. DUBROVNIK - DITTO ABOVE Our Favorite Port of the cruise

    4. MYKONOS - Loved it, need to see more

    5. EPHESUS - Very cool - historically and diverse

    6. CRETE - had a food tour, but a great city was Herkalion

    7. SANTORINI - IMHO; this should be an AT SEA DAY; It was just a mad house in OIA and FIRA

How were the shows? How was musical entertainment throughout the ship?Did they have a comedian? Who was the cruise director? Thanks.

    1. IMHO, the shows were good to very good;  We've been on a lot of cruises, so to WOW us takes a bit

    2. Music entertainment was great;  Lots of variety from, Motown to Rock to soft music

    3. The cruise director was Ernest[ from USA] and the assistant was Marc[ from Czech Republic]

  3. NOTES:

    • Lobster tail is $20 for extra tail
    • tender service is WELL ORGANIZED
    • Cold towels and water at the ports is such a blessing
    • Pastries at Al Bacio are free so is water; Coffee is NOT
    • Debarkation process - smoothest yet; found bags within 2 minutes
    • Casino only takes dollars; $5 minimum before 6pm
    • Showers have nice pressure and temp controls
    • Only Butter; forget about finding margarine [ live a little!]
    • A/C in room works well; safe in room too
    • Ample time given between evening activities
    • Dinner service is PROMPT - no 2 hour dinners
    • Shows were NEVER crowded; ample seating; ditto for solarium and Pool Chairs
    • There are (4) omelet stations in the Oceanview cafe; no queues
    • Water in the drinking fountains is COLD

I'm sure I'll think of more; but this is it for now

  4. Can I tell kids to leave the solarium during the times when they are NOT allowed?  Should I report them to a crew member? As a 65yo, this is my fortress of solitude, and I go in there for the peace and quiet

Hello, has anyone used Celebritys transfer from Venice to Ravenna?

Staying at Rialto hotel but unclear how to get to where bus pick up is.
Will have luggage but don’t want to have to pay a high taxi from hotel to where bus pick-up is.

    Any help appreciated. Thank you

We have the Xfer from the VCE airport to the ship at 1:30p;  Maximizes our time in venice

    1.  So when they tender us into port, can I buy a ticket to boat to Oia? YES; Lookup OIA SPEEDBOAT on GOOGLE
    2.   Can I buy this in advance? YES or PURCHASE AT THE PORT [ YouTube has good videos on this]
    3. How do I get from Oia to Fira on my own?   The Speedboat tour includes a PRIVATE BUS back to FIRA
    4. Is there a ticket I can buy now to get me from Oia to Fira  or can I buy that on the spot? YES and YES;  If you purchase in advance, you choose the time and will not be shut out

That's fine if you pack light-ish. But keep in mind that you will have to:

-- Get your luggage to the train station and loaded onto train (no porters)

-- Get off train at your change point (usually Ferrara) and get to your next train, again loading your own luggage

-- Get off the train at Ravenna station, which is still 30 minutes to the ship. So you either end up on a shuttle bus anyway from the station to the port (having shuffled your luggage 3 times) or you take a taxi, if one is available...

These are minor things.  I NEVER use porters anyway; we pack light[ 1 suitcase each], and bologna is the xfer point.  Don't have to worry about traffic jams, free to walk about, wifi,  and a lot cheaper
