Thanks for the info. There is no way that I will be taking a travel kettle with me.

I was thinking of pre-buying the Coffee Card for our Christmas Markets tour in December. It is only a four night cruise and for two days we will be in Amsterdam.
My wife and I would probably share the card as I don't think we need 10 coffees during the trip.
So my question are
1) is it worth the money ?
2) do they do take away coffee so I can take it out to a very wintery Amsterdam?
3) does the QE have somewhere like Sir Samuel's?
Any help from would be appreciated

If you have one of the large inside deluxe cabins on deck 1 on QE, you will have far better family accommodation than is available on QM2. Our daughter and family enjoys these cabins with 2 young children. I think you will be very pleasantly surprised.
Thanks LadyL1 - that's exactly what we went for. Well it was the only one that would take us. So it was more luck than judgement.

Lovely video - how did you cope with the room? I only ask because my wife and I will be taking our two children on the QE soon.

Thank you for taking the time to post these pictures Colin. They have made my little girl very excited.

I forgot to say that we will be on deck one.
I have seen a few threads about the cabins, but could not find any with pictures on. It would be great to show my two little ones their home for four nights.
Thanks

We have booked an inside deluxe cabin on deck one. I think we will have a pull out sofa and a pull down bed.
Really looking forward to be taking my wife and two toddlers! Just wondering if anybody has any photos of the cabin they could share?
Thanks

Took my son when he was 18months on Qm2 and will be taking him and his new sister to Amsterdam on the QE over Christmas.
Reason why we are going again (son will have his 4th birthday on board and Lottie will be 18 months) is that my son was thoroughly spoilt by the staff on board. Enjoy it- ignore the comments that some people have made to you.

Can't fault the Westin. Just off time square, good views of the river and Empire State. Also has don shulas resteraunt.

We did that a few years ago, you can get rather close to it, but not close enough to jump aboard though.

Evening ladies and gentlemen.
My word, my post has caused a few problems!
Lets get it sorted.
1) yes 4 night cruise to the dam
2) two children one aged 3(4th birthday while on board) and one aged 20 months
3) yes I know all about the kids clubs
4) of course I did my research before I booked the cruise and of course I asked about papa noël.
5) this will be our third trip - love the transatlantic but the youths are too little at the moment. So it will have to be short cruises for the moment.
6) all I wanted to know is individuals views of Christmas activities for my family. Christmas carols etc?
7) people make mistakes, let's leave it at that.
8) always enjoy your blogs captain pugwash.
Thanks for all your comments be that about relevancy of posts or more importantly about the great time my family will have just before Christmas this year.
The only thing I really need to worry about now is asking my head teacher if I can leave for my holidays a day early ;)

Thanks maitai999.
I didn't think about our own decorations. It is my son's birthday on the last day, so I had better remember to take some birthday banners.

Check out Mersey ferries - they run special tours. We are on one for Saturday afternoon.
Nice to see it from the water than the dockside

We will be travelling on the Queen Elizabeth on the 19th December. I wanted a nice Christmas experience on board, tree and Santa for my children.
We travelled on the Diamond Jubilee with our son, he was too young to use the facilities at the time. Can anybody tell me their experiences of Cunard with children aged 3 and above, especially with regards to evenings and what they offer to give myself and my long suffering wife a romantic meal?
Also do you think Father Christmas will be making a special visit on board?
Thanks

We will be taking the short Christmas Markets trip to Amsterdam with my family on the 19th December with my family.
Can anybody tell me anything about where we will dock? I was wondering if it is close enough to walk into the city or will we need to take a shuttle bus?
I always love knowing where we will dock so I know what to do as soon as we get of the ship.
We are looking forward to spending a relaxing time on the Queen Elizabeth before the madness of Christmas in our household.
Any help will be appreciated.
Ps I do hope that pol Aker has not been stopped! I need use it as a Christmas gift to my noisy neighbours.:)
