Thanks so much for your detailed review. I truly appreciated the effort you put into this and I have a ton of back pocket tips to use on our cruise departing next Sunday ... and this is coming from someone who has a Splash Academy child, drinks a lot, stays up super late, and eats a very different set of meals 🙂 Go Bruins!

We are bringing an old disused iPhone for my 10-year old to use (for example, when she's in the kids' club and we're at Syd's or the casino or something and she wants us to pick her up). Even if the iPhone has no cell plan it still works with Wi-fi ... and iPhones can text each other on the ship for free.

So from what i gather from this thread, I will be able to walk into Syd's on the Breakaway during a performance as long as i'm willing to stand ... and maybe have an obstructed view. Sounds good to me - I would want to stand anyway if the music is great!

This is my favorite thread ... please keep the discourse flowing (even those I vehemently disagree with) 🙂 As many have mentioned, it's a value proposition. For me, as someone going on a spring break Caribbean cruise in March, I bought passes for my wife and I even though our 10-year old won't be able to gain access ... because I am highly confident the pool deck will be packed and super loud, chairs hard to find, and the bar constantly backed up. A relaxed place in the sun or shade with a comfortable chair, a great view, and easily accessible drinks makes the upgrade worth it to me. My wife doesn't know I bought the passes yet so I can't wait to find out if she agrees with me. I would use it early morning, during the day, and before dinner, particularly if my 10-year old is hanging out in the kids club.
