We are on Allure next weekend. Just did online check in and I have a question. Notes said our seapass card would be in an envelope on our door. Assuming rooms aren't ready when we board, how do you get drinks from your beverage package without a seapass card? Anyone know? I AM SO EXCITED!!

I don't see an Ultimate Drink Package offered on Allure (we sail next week). I bought the Deluxe, but was a bit appalled to find that there are very few wines that fall in the $13 limit. I have never had that problem with beverage packages on other Royal ships. Logged in to see about maybe "upgrading", but I don't see any package offered that would go to say $15 or $16 drink limits?

Check the RC website. I purchased the Deluxe Package today and it was 25% off. Sale ends tomorrow (Jan 7th)

My family wants to cruise out of galveston on LOS, I'm trying for Harmony, but they won't have to fly to galveston.
Is LOS a good ship since theyve updated/added things - any advice, comments, etc. Are the shows good, etc?
Cruised on Liberty in April. Loved it.

Did OP ever say both balcony and other door were open at the same time? I never saw that. The real truth is that the doors close automatically and are heavy, even on an inside cabin.
Seriously...took my 11 year old grandson on a cruise in April. He is VERY slight...more the size of an 8 or 9 year old. Not ONCE did he have any trouble with the door...of course we had a LONG talk about being considerate and not allowing the door to slam so maybe that was the difference. ;-)

I just booked Embassy Suite for one night Nov, 3rd on yesterday. I had to speak to a reservationist in the hotel. If you call the published number, you end up with their central reservations somewhere in Fort Lauderdale area and they show it is sold out as well.
So I told the representative I had been trying since December 2016 and asked her did they book the entire hotel for people who are attending the boat show...she said "no" and transferred me directly to the hotel and I got the reservation. I was not asked to book a minimal of 3 nights.
I got my electronic confirmation within 15 minutes.
Well that is discouraging because I did call the hotel directly. Oh well, ended up booking something on airBNB instead,

The boat show people changed the boat show dates year before last so your dates weren't always over boat show.
Well yes actually they were...the dates of the charter cruise we take changed too. Believe me it is pretty hard to miss if you are there during boat week, lol.

On our recent trip on Liberty of the Seas, my husband realized he left his spare rescue inhaler at home and only had around 10 puffs left in the one he had. We went to the medical center and the doctor saw him promptly and they had exactly what we needed. We were surprised at how reasonable the charges ended up being. They were amazing and really helped relieve our stress!

We always order a bottle of Bailey's when sailing on HAL. If I remember right it is around $45-50 but keep in mind it is a one litre bottle, so bigger than the normal bottle you would buy at home.

So I solved the mystery. The hotels aren't "booked" they have a three night minimum. The lady at the Embassy Suites tried to tell me it has been that way for 20 years. Interesting because I have stayed there pre-cruise during the same time period for the last 5 years and never had a problem. I think it might be because I usually don't book until April or so...maybe they relax the minimum stay at some point.

Interesting because I tried googling the dates and couldn't find anything for 2017.

We cruised out of Ft. Lauderdale this year last week of October and had no problem getting a room for the night before the cruise or the night the ship returned. Fell right in the middle of boat week. I was a little surprised to have such difficulty for next year.

The boat show dates are booked 30 years out.
October is the start of our peak season.
Interesting because I tried googling the dates and couldn't find anything for 2017.

I agree with the Park Cafe suggestion. Might be the best roast beef sandwich I have every had!

We are having the same issue. I am wondering if the hotels have dates blocked out because the date of the boat show hasn't been announced yet?

Just got off the Nieuw Amsterdam. Smoking was allowed in the casino for sure and I believe at the aft pool.

Another vote for Embassy Suites. Staying there again for our November cruise.

If you are cruising out of Fort Lauderdale, we are fans of Embassy Suites. Just a short walk (less than a block) away is Duffy's Sports Bar. Great food.

DH and I are Platinum. We are taking our daughter and grandson on Liberty in April. Both are first time cruisers. Their room and charges will be on our credit card. Will we be able to take them with us to check in through the Priority Check-in and Boarding?

My original booking says early dining is at 6:00, but I have seen several posts that seem to indicate it is now 5:30. Can anyone clarify? That would really bum me out, because we like to meet the wait staff the first night in the MDR, but really don't want to miss sail away!

We will be flying into FLL and staying at one of the airport hotels pre-cruise, 2 adults and 3 kids. Will there be cabs for 5 readily available at FLL or will I need to reserve ahead of time? I think a cab company would be hesitant to take a reservation for 2 miles. I know the other other option is just to take 2 cabs.
The cabs line up outside baggage claim. You shouldn't have any trouble finding one that is a mini van or something to take you all.

The pool in that pic is being used on their balcony not on the outside public areas. There's not exactly room for even a pool that size on the deck. Too many people walking around.
The poster comments that people would stop and comment on what a clever idea it was. Sounds to me like it was at the pool not on their balcony.

Not judging anyone ... just curious. I think HAL's liquor pricing is very fair and not over-priced. So why would you smuggle liquor onto the ship, when purchasing it on-board would be so easy and meet HAL requirements? I truly am curious.
I agree with you. We always purchase a bottle of Bailey's to have in the room to add to our fancy coffee from Explorations. Considering it is a 1 litre bottle compared to the 750ml we would get at home it is very comparable in price in my opinion. I just can't imagine dealing with the hassle and chance of getting caught to save a few bucks, lol.

That is the point. I purchased a beverage package...I don't want to have to "charge" a drink.
