There must be some changes, as I have looked at some of the wine in the current packages, when you go into, Indulgences/ Beverages in your Reservation and they are not listed in the PDF link above.

Is there an alternative listing for the wine packages?

We travelled on the Solstice in 2012 and were lucky enough to get one of the wonderful S1 Corner suites, it was a great experience. Hoping HAL can come close :)

We are on the Noordam in mid September, so following your Review with great interest. Given the current thread trashing the Noordam, can you tell us how you found her a mere 4 weeks ago?

One thing I would like to clarify is :-

The 9hr bus transfer to Florence was more than I wanted to do.

Do you mean the whole day was a 9 hr trip, as my memory of transfers to Florence were about 2 hrs each way and that was from La Spezia which is further away than Livorno?

I do read the recent reviews of the ship I'm sailing on next, but do have an extremely large pinch of salt to hand !!

I've seen a few that complain about a certain cabin and then don't tell you which one it is..very annoying.

I think the professional reviews are pretty much a waste of time as they are generally written at the time of launch and are out of date, you get a much better picture of the current condition of the ship by reading here on the Forum.

Hi all,

We are sailing on the Noordam on 16th September out of Rome. Having previously sailed with Celebrity we were able to monitor our onboard account via the TV in the stateroom, does HAL have this facility?

Last year we did your itenary on the Solstice, it was a fabulous cruise and the S class ships are just amazing. We also, later in the year, did Mariner of the Seas out of Civitavecchia for a 7 day Western Med and frankly RC did not come near Celebrity's standard.

Happy to expand, if you want more details, but nothing that hasn't been said when similar comparisons have been asked before.

Go with X you won't regret it :)

Terry, I hesitate to put my snaps up along with your photo portraits, but here are a couple of other sights on the fabulous Solstice from our Med cruise in May 2012

The Sky Observation lounge has a great array of seating, if you want out of the sun or the occasional damp day

Looking forward on Deck 5 beside the Gelateria towards Cafe Al Bacio, where you can buy a specialty coffee or get some free snacks and pastries

The Glass Show in full action, you can get up close or stand at the back on the Lawn and soak in the atmosphere

They look after the Lawn with loving care :)

Oh and sometimes you have to leave it to the professionals to get the right shots !!

Is the "sail out" of Venice the reverse of the "sail in" or does the ship take another route?

I had read that the ferry terminal was close, and took your advice and did a search and found this

Sorrento & Capri on your own

which indicates it's not too far from the Cruise Terminal

When you touch land in Naples, how close are you to the ferry terminal? I was thinking of getting the hydrofoil to Sorrento on our day there in September, so am interested to know how far it is to the terminal.
