1. Thank you for taking the time to write your review. Great information.

One question I have. Did you feel that the ship was too crowded? Friends of ours sailed her and hated it because they felt the ship was very overcrowded.

We are thinking of booking Sunshine for next year and need feedback on the subject. Thanks in advance.

  2. Post-it notes worked best for us.

We have had bad experiences with magnets/signs on our cabin door. Most were taken or vandalized. Even saw some kids changing the door knob hanging sign from "do not disturb to out cruising" on some ones door. . We did call them down, but they just gave us the middle finger and walked away. Such disrespect now a days. :(

  3. Yes, they will board with you.

We have cruised with family members who were on a different booking number, but were let on with us in the VIP area since we are Platinum. We were very surprised with this, but very happy.

On another occasion, it didn't happen that way. So guess it depends on the dock employee you encounter.

  4.
I have ordered through Bon Voyage and then reordered from Room Service a few days later.... No problem at all. I called room service, told her what I wanted, she told me the price (which was the same as BV) and 20-30 minutes later they knocked on my door with a brand new bottle.
Good to know. I have ordered from BV and didn't realize I could also order liquor from room service. Thanks!
  5. I've been to Nassau many times and tour on my own. I have never felt afraid or in any danger, but I don't walk alone. I have walked to Junkanoo Beach and also to the Fish Fry and never had a problem. I would not walk at night though. We (two girls) did leave Senior Frogs one night to go back to the ship and it wasn't the best feeling. Won't do that again. Just be cautious and smart.

  6. I agree with the others that the straw market isn't worth going. Years ago it was really nice to see the islanders making their goods and selling them at the market. Now it is a really crowded, hot place where the vendors hawk you as you walk through. You can make deals with them and get the price down, but the quality isn't very good. I do buy a few trinkets every time I go to Nassau because I am always traveling with people who have never been before.

There is a free beach within walking distance called Junkanoo Beach. Google it and see for yourself.

  7. We have walked and it takes around 30 minutes or so. We did stop at Junkaroo beach for a few pictures first. The food was very good, but it took a long time to get it delivered to us. It seems that Nassau is known for it's, never in a hurry reputation, but we felt the food was worth the wait. There are several restaurants to choose from. We did take the #10 bus back to the port because it took so long to get our food and we wanted to walk through the straw market before we had to board the ship.

  8. Having lobster taken away isn't huge to me - although I do like lobster. But it is disconcerting to see so many cutbacks at a time when Carnival's prices are steadily going up. At the rate things are going, it won't be long until a Carnival cruise is no longer the most attractive vacation option for those in the middle class, with a limited vacation budget.

I agree Towel Critter. I also like the lobster and am disappointed that it has been taken away for the shorter cruises. Would it be a deal breaker for me, no, but disappointing. With all the cut backs and changes Carnival has made recently it isn't the low budget vacation of the past. We have a cruise booked for early next year, but also are looking at A.I. for the fall. Times they are a changing.
