  1. Hi

I have booked cabin 9292 for a March 2020 cruise (I know I like to book early) so was looking at booking a c3 and getting my captains club upgrade to a c2 and online was showing 9292 as a c2 cabin. On all the deck plans it shows as a 1A but on my booking confirmation it states = C2-9292 Deluxe Ocean View Strm Veranda.

Has anyone stayed in this room and had the concierge benefits?

  2. Booked our first Viking cruise but have to wait until 2019 - Sydney to Bali! Have read and re-read the new brochure and can't wait to get the 'Viking' experience, it all sounds amazing.

  3. Hi

This might seem an odd question but I recently became a Diamond C&A member :) and I'm looking at taking a cruise with my daughter in February (just the two of us) who isn't a diamond member.

Not sure how it all works as this would be my first cruise at this level. Whilst I have an idea what benefits I get, I don't know if it means my travelling companion is excluded?? Does this mean that we are not able to go into the diamond lounge together?

    Thank you :)

  4. Quick question for anyone on board Eclipse right now. We will sail on April 3rd and wondered if Bistro had been converted over to the sushi? That is our gathering place at embarkation, we loved the salads, soups and crepes. Just wondering.

Keep Eclipse well for us. We will be sailing her for the third time and love her.

    Thanks.

    Pat C

Glad you asked this question PatC, pleased to hear it's still Bistro on 5, we too love to go there on embarkation - see you on the 3rd ;)

    Jo

  5. We have our interviews for the Global Entry Card in April when we arrive for our TA on Eclipse.

We have read so many good things about them, can't wait to get them!!

    Hi,

Are you having your interviews at the airport when you fly in?

I'm thinking of applying, just been on the uk gov website to read up about it.

    Any info would be appreciated.

    Thanks, Jo

  6. Hi,

I know that a few people use US travel agents to book their cruises and want to ask about the process and how best to find a reputable agent.

I want to book a RCCL cruise for next July, I have been looked on the UK site but was hoping that as my brother lives in Florida I could possibly use a US agent giving my brothers address as my own, if needed.

    Any tips welcomed :)

    Cheers, Jo

  7. Is only featured on Solstice; it is not a design feature on Equinox, Eclipse, Silhouette, or Reflection...

By all accounts [i haven't experienced it first hand], the "X" [or part of it] does not impact visibility from verandahs on Solstice...

Thank you, I'm glad you spotted my mistake - I did mean the Solstice :) I've edited my original post now.

  8. Hi, looking a booking a standard hump cabin on the solstice, I have noticed on the pictures that some of the rooms would have parts of the celebrity x either partially or fully going across the balcony. Does the x block the view out from the balcony? Ie if sat on balcony you cannot look straight out but you would need to stand up to look out at view or is the x a see through type material?

Hope my question makes sense? Thank you for your feedback :)

  9. Hello,

I am after some advise and info on the disembarkation procedure for non-US nationals in Port Canaveral.

We are doing our first cruise departing and returning to the US, normally we sail in and out of the UK so this is completely new to us.

Do we have to be finger and eye scanned the same as when we fly into MCO a few days prior? Is there separate lines for non-US passengers? Are we able to do self disembarkation still, as we always prefer to take ourselves off the ship rather than waiting for an allotted time.

Any UK travellers out there had any prior experience of arriving into PC, your feedback would be most helpful.

Thank you to all that reply :)

  10. Yes! But SOLO has been tough lately.

One thing you have going for you is that at least the kids go back to school this week. People combining Disney and cruise will be lighter. Maybe there will be something in the Going Going Gone sale next week with less than 200% ????? Cold weather up north doesn't help either.

I have been looking for SOLO Miami, Ft. Laud and Cape C for 2 weeks and coming up with no real deals on RCCL......Might stay landbound until April or move to another line where there are a lot of SOLO deals. Good Luck to you.

Thanks to all for the input, I will have to keep my eyes peeled. I did ask my travel agent to contact rci to move one person from my booking (as we are 3 in a room occupancy at the moment) out of my room to share an inside with my brother but they came back with a price of nearly £2000 pounds  which would be over $3000.00

I dont think they have priced it correctly. Even with my brother paying single occupancy at say $1471 (price quoted by rci rep) it doesn't equate as my 3rd passenger is already paid for at a balcony price. we currently have 7408 which only sleeps 3.

ps - what is a going going gone sale? where can I find the info to when it is on?

  11. Just booked my first ever Christmas Cruise :) onboard Arcadia J422.

Very excited and looking forward to it already. I have so many questions in regard to the festivities on board - are there decorations? Is xmas day lunch at lunch time? Queens speech - is it shown, xmas movies - will i miss out on the regular stuff that I would normally enjoy at home? I would love to hear about other peoples experiences on xmas cruises and what we could expect.

    Thank you :)

  12. Hi,

I managed to get a price reduction earlier this year when I noticed that my class of cabin had been reduced by £40. I had never asked before and thought there's no harm asking. I contacted my cruise booker, asked the question - she contacted Princess got the drop and sent me a refund :)

So yes you should be able to depending on the new price advertised, if it's stipulated that it's for new booking only that might be a different story. Good luck xx

  13. I would like to say a 'HUGE' thank you DeloreanGirl for posting your cruise review. I was hooked from the beginning and have spent the last two evenings when I got home from work, logging on to CC and continuing to read the review from where I'd previously left it :)

I must admit you have me seriously considering doing a British Isle cruise myself after reading your review, where I had never, ever thought of doing one. Living here in the UK I thought I wouldn't find it that interesting and why when you have such a choice of cruises, would you holiday at home? I take it all back, I would love to do this cruise!!

    Thank you, thank you x
