I agree 100%   Somehow the PC police miss these kind of issues.  Unfortunately for Celebrity, the choice of designers without any ship experience and the lack of any adult supervision on the new ship designs will cost Celebrity dearly.  As people discover that the IV balconies are really not balconies and other new features are non functional, the cruise fares on these ships will drop dramatically.

I agree with you 100% on the IV balconies. To me they just lookalike CV cabins.

Why should I pay so much more for IV if I can get OV much much cheaper.

    No brainer.

Paul, thank you for posting about your upcoming cruise and offering to answer questions. We are also booked in an S3 in a couple of months. What deck are you on if you care to mention it. I am concerned about the Magic Carpet passing by our balcony. It appears that we have an adjoining room and I am a bit concerned about the noise coming from the adjoining door.

Never had a suite on Celebrity so not sure what Michael’s Lounge has to offer and how it compares to the Top Sail Lounge on MSC another favorite line of ours for their Yacht Club area. With this in mind, I’ve been looking at pictures of The Retreat on Deck 16 forward? Is food served here or is there only a bar, pool and sundeck?

Concerning “Luminae at the Retreat”, is  The Retreat what used to be called Michael’s Lounge? I cannot seem to find anything about Michael’s Lounge on this ship.

Also curious to know about the menus available at Luminae and the quality of the food here and at the OVC.

Will you be checking out the 4 MDR dining venues also, Tuscan, Cosmo, Normandie and Cyprus or will you be satisfied with Luminae? I had made reservations for these until I realized that they are part of the MDR.

What specialty restaurants did you book if any?

    TIA

Cheers and looking forward to learning a lot from your experience!

Michael's Club is gone. They is now a new lounge called Suite lounge.

Loyalty means nothing to Celebrity any more and now they only focus on making PROFIT for the company.

I felt so sorry to myself to be so loyal to this company.

    Good suggestion.

From the mid 80's to the mid 00's, I'd get the number for the sailing coordinator of a particular ship; call directly and ask for a complimentary upgrade (not Celebrity) because I was in the hospitality industry.  This actually worked several times and I was upgraded for free at the last minute. It was awesome.

I think in the days of revenue management and bidding for upgrades, those days seem to be over.

    Those days are gone.

Sell Me, Why would I like Celebrity.  We have always sailed Royal.  Kids are grown, My wife and I like to have cocktails and see shows.  like casinos and the main dining room experience on royal.

    GO.........

Please do not sail with Celebrity.Just stay where you are.

Food is bad ,services also bad.

Happy hour's Lounge and MC Lounge is always over crowded as some one posted recently.

That was on the RCCL President's Cruise on Harmony of the Seas which has 6000 passengers and that particular cruise had a very large number of Pinnacle members (similar to Zenith level on Celebrity).  I believe that regular cruises on Oasis class ships with a suite lounge don't normally have this issue.  If Pinnacle members sail Celebrity I do not believe they get Zenith status. They would only have access to the Suite amenities if they booked a suite.

There was also a thread the pinnacle members would like the reciprocity with Celebrity as Zenith to solve their over crowding.

That was even mention recently by Michael Bailey during the President's cruise and approved the idea.

Well if you want to single anyone out, then historically speaking it was allowing Sky Suites access to the lounge a while back that is the cause of any overcrowding.

    Phil

There was a suite passenger on RCL Bashing the Top Tier saying they were over crowding the Suite lounge on Symphony Of The Sea last month.

I hope this never happen to Celebrity Ship.

We have booked a Sky Suite and leave on the 5th Nov.   I am confused, do we have access to Michaels like other suite guests or not?  I just found this on CC page about the ship.

"Michael's Club (Deck 5): This clubby bar decked out in dark woods and plush seats is only open to Zenith members of the Captain's Club -- Celebrity's loyalty club -- and those staying in mid- and top-tier suites (Sky Suite and AquaClass Suite guests do not have access)."

I like the idea Michael's Club only open to Zenith members of the Captain's club once they revolutionize the Solstice Class ship.

That will prevent over crowding by the Zeniths in the Suite Lounge.

I have heard complain from poster mentioning over crowding in MC was caused by Zeniths.

Edge Feb 24 2019. But I literally booked the cruise on Day 1--the rep I talked to didn't even have deck plans yet.

    Very nice.

You must have booked before 07/28/2017

Well, we were targeted for this incentive and our booking was made at $2799 pp for an S2 that is currently listed at $6299 pp. So if the point is to secure people who booked at the LOL rates they are doing a poor job of targeting the offer. And, like I said, nothing on my invoice suggests that the cancellation policy has changed; based on what's on my documentation, I could cancel without penalty up through 90 days prior to sailing---aka the original final payment date of Nov 27.

We did a cruise with Silversea this year and they offered 10% off our fare for early payment, so perhaps Celebrity is experimenting with incentives along those lines.

Wow,You are the lucky one.May I know the ship and the sailing date?

  10. The biggest mistake is The PC member wearing the pins. Its just a piece of souvenir and recognition from the company.

I even asked my friend who is PC Member's why you need to wear it.The answer is to get the staff member know his status.

Then I told him when I was in Michael Club on Celebrity you won't even know who is Zenith member in the lounge because no one ever wear the pin at any occasion and not even during the senior officials party night in Michael Club.

  11. Why would Celebrity folks be upset??

Currently points earned on Celebrity and Azamara combine and status reciprocates between RCI, Celebrity and Azamara up through Diamond Level on RCI.

    https://insideflyer.com/2015/11/cruise-line-status-match/

Celebrity has one of the best loyalty program in the cruise industries.

I don't see why they get upset.

I believed in future Royal Caribbean will copy the point systems of Celebrity so the upper tiers won't get crowd.

    Zenith

The height of Captain's Club membership—Zenith—is designed exclusively for our most loyal guests, offering the quality benefits and perks this ultimate level of membership deserves, such as access to Michael’s Club Lounge, a beverage package of your choice, complimentary laundry, and anextensive internet package.

  12. It's been easy for us to cruise with the boys because they are only 2 and 4 so traveling in low season is not an issue. We have found great suite pricing as a result. The 4 year old has been on a 10 day Equinox, Reflection and twice on Harmony.

Our spring break next year is April 20. A GS that week on Symphony is $14k. I'll spend that kind of money on a vacation but not for a cruise so not sure what is going to happen going forward. I've heard that once they start Kindergarten they really start frowning on you taking the kids out of school for vacations.

Andrew, on a separate note I have those two side by side GS for December, do you think it is worth spending an extra $3k total for two side by side CL L1s? The second suite will be used by my mom, FIL and MIL.

    Andy,

Just wondered did you started any threads about Zeniths and Michael's Club when you were on cruise of Equinox or Reflection?

It seems Michael's Club has a much much smaller space to accommodate the Suite guests.

  13. I agree all this over a little band its not like she was having a heart attack or something was she in danger of bleeding to death if a little band aid was all she needed put apaper towel on it or something people need to start watching out for themselves.

You misunderstood the poster,Its not the problem of bad was the injury.

The poster was trying to tell every one about the bad customer service.
