I wonder if this is in connection with Curtis Stone......

We are looking at the possibility of booking a 9 night on the Emerald out of Ft Laud. It goes out to Grand Turk and then comes back in to Ft Laud, so it is really a B2B but they are selling and we are booking as a 9 night.
Has anyone done this? What we are wondering is, do you need to disembark and then get back on again, if so we will not book it. Second question is do they make you go thru the Muster drill a second time, I mainly ask because I am disabled and getting around in large crowds can be a bit much at times.
Thanks, Anne & Bob

What does the Park Café serve?

We are going to be on the Brilliance of the Seas, I believe they have a Thermal Suite. Does anyone know if you can pay daily or do you have to pay for the entire cruise, it is 15 nights?
-
Thank you I will look into that :)
Hire a car? Its just over an hour's drive. How long are you in port. Bus could be possible:
train from cobh to Cork, walk to bus station, bus to Cashel (1 hour 40 mins). Couple of hours in Cashel and then reverse journey.

We are doing a 15 night TA so I was also wondering about wine bought in port. If I picked up a nice bottle or two in France would I have to turn it over?

My husband is a Veteran of 8 years as well. That is just outrageous  please tell me what chain that was so I can no longer do business with them!
Thank you for this info. My husband is also a veteran (served 8 years), but not retired. I didn't know he was eligible...good to know. Some places give military discounts to ONLY retired or disabled veterans, not just any veteran. We were getting lumber to build a deck this summer and were at one of the two very large chain stores that sell lumber and they advertised a 10% off Veteran Discount, so I told the clerk my husband was a veteran. She asked him a few questions about his service and then very rudely said, "I'm sorry, you don't qualify for the discount, because you're not the right kind of veteran." :eek:I still tease him about it...I told him he should return the veteran's license plates that he has on his car because he's not the right KIND of veteran.:p

Thank you all Very much, you have all been very helpful and kind,

I have a question about what Royal Caribbean considers "retired" for the Military Credit. We sail Princess most often but also enjoy RC. We will be booking a RC cruise for next fall; my husband was in the Army for 8 years, with Princess you get a $100 Military Credit, does Royal Caribbean work the same way?
Either way we are really looking forward to this upcoming cruise on Royal Caribbean. :)
Thank You, Anne

I agree the Vatican tour is wonderful! I am disabled and was concerned that I would hold the rest of the tour up, Rome was the end of a 3 week trip so I wasn't at my best. The tour guide was wonderful and I didn't slow anyone down.
Yes, we have used them when we were doing a pre-cruise stay in Rome. We were so pleasantly surprised with the Vatican tour guide (American ex-pat) who was very, very knowledgeable and friendly. We booked some tours on our own, but the ones through Viator were excellent. We will definitely use them again when we go to Switzerland next year. They also have transfers too and one of the best things about them is that you can book in USD instead of Euros which saves some money.
-
Keith, how have you gotten in touch with the tour guide in advance?
Anne
Yes I have used them.I read the review about the tour guide I consider as I use them for private tours.
I also correspond with the tour guides before finalizing a booking with them.

Yes, we have used them in several cities and been pleased, the Vatican tour was wonderful! However we have never used them for shore excursions before.
I think the OP is asking have you used them for shore excursions when a ship reaches a port for a day, not if you have used them pre-cruise or post-cruise. -
Has anyone ever used Viator for Shore Excursions? We have used them in cities on regular vacations, I am just wondering about cruises.

Does anyone know of any tours that go to Cashel from Cobh? I've had enough Blarney ;)

Do yourself a huge favor and go to Windsor Castle, it is wonderful! It is one of the oldest and beautifully maintained, and has been in constant use for over 700 years. St Georges Chapel there is the burial place of Henry VIII, his great Grandfather Edward IV, his notorious wife Elizabeth Woodville and many others.
Windsor is down is down near Southampton not far from Stonehendge, and Salisbury. By all means rent a car the countryside if beautiful.
Hope that helps, Anne

We are thinking about booking the Sept 2015 TA on the Brilliance of the Seas, we are Princess fans, the Brilliance looks lovely and we have our doubts Princesses new big ship. We have sailed RCCI before and loved it we just find Princess a better fit for us.
The thermal suite is one of our favorite things, can anyone tell me how much it costs? We will be spending almost a month in England prior to the cruise and I am 60 and disabled. There are no handicapped rooms left and I may or may not be using a wheelchair to get around by then, it will all depend on how much I have over done in England.
Thank you, Anne

We are booked in E710 on the Royal for 10 nights. Our TA didn't mention anything about an obstructed view, however I noticed on the Princess deck plan it is. Does anyone know how bad that one may be?
Thanks, Anne

Beautiful pictures, what type of camera do you use?

Does anyone know where you can view the menu for Alfredos?

Polite conversation is always welcome :)
Wasn't any question on what to wear just on the number of Formal Nights. And the answer has been correctly give . -
I remember when the statement first came out about the Royal that after a few builds in that size they were looking at a new smaller class capable of the smaller passages and ports. The bigger ships can't do the Panama Canal and smaller, local ports like Baltimore are gaining popularity.

My husband will be getting off lucky with just the two formal. We are in a set pattern now, Crown Grill for the first one, Ultimate Balcony Dinner for the second and then he does dress up for the third, if there is a third :)
Warnemunde to Rostock and back???

We will be on the Regal Princess next summer and I am just looking at some options in ports. Your pictures are beautiful! :)
