I’m waiting for it to be 30% additionally cheaper for the Going Going Gone sale anyway. -
RCL Coffee Cards: Beware FALSE ADVERTISING!
dada2199cc replied to 70KToM's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Class action lawsuits only enrich the lawyers and then the rest of us cruise consumers pay more because you can’t reach a contract. The coffee cards do in fact save you up to 50%. 1% is in that range, as is losing 50%. Stop cruising, Karen. -

what is left for Adventure of the Seas 14 January
dada2199cc replied to JOHN 57's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Folks cancel cruises last minute, or miss flights. I have a friend who is a travel agent and her group cancelled 5 staterooms 2 days before departure. -
Daily Service Charges are now officially out of hand
dada2199cc replied to bjlaac's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I have it for every travel organization I deal with, yes. It took maybe 2 hours total over many years to work out and tweaks are really fast. When I go comparison shopping, I just put in the base rate in one column, fees and taxes in another column, days and it basically shows me the bottom line or close to it. It's not a hassle at all. YOU are hassled, but that's you. -

I made my own little calculator spreadsheet that lets me track that kind of stuff really easily. Not too difficult to do. -

This is a horrible idea. Anything in the base fare has to also have commissions, taxes, fees, etc added on. -

It's been shared officially by every major cruiseline customer service department at some point, or by employees themselves. -

Got to love it when Royal cancels your cruise

She already has a job scheduled for August 2023? I'm going to guess it won't be impossible to shift that a little bit, right? -

This is why I prefer talking about cruises on F__eb__k because I can (a) see real names, (b) see real photos and (c) block people I disagree with so I never see them again. I'm still here because of monitoring the cruise news on multiple sites, but the discussions are better over there. -

Tips mean lower fees, taxes and commissions on the base fare. If you want to pay 500 middlemen more money, then build it into the fare. I want prices to be higher so fewer cruise ships are overloaded. I actually email RCCL executives regularly asking if they can raise prices 20-30% more. -
I got these so I am guaranteed to see mushrooms in Chops, MDR and especially on formal night.

Wonder of the Seas oversold 12/11/22
dada2199cc replied to bavrail18's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I wish they offered inside suites. We like sleeping until we want to wake up, and curtains just don't do it well. I also have zero interest in the balcony (partner vapes and can't do that on your balcony). We do love bigger bathrooms and more stateroom space and suite privileges, but just have no interest in the balcony portion. I have a holiday cruise in a WS and they are showing no available suites so I would LOVE to get downgraded to an interior with a FCC for the WS amount. I'd take it in half a heartbeat! -
Royal Caribbean Shareholder Onboard Credit

They did my shareholder OBC for my next 10 cruises through Feb 2024 in under 48 hours. Amazingly fast! -
Infinite (Nordic) Balcony Issue
dada2199cc replied to gmerick's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Lol what? Cruise ships are designed to withstand wave impacts of 15-25 t/m2. This includes windows and balcony doors A rogue wave has been reported to have a breaking force of 100 t/m2 and theoretical waves could be 200 t/m2. There is no way any ship glass (or even metal in peak cases!) will save you from a rogue wave. -

A few ways you can get OBC on your planner: Shareholder credit Travel agency bonus RCCL Credit Card redemption I'm sure there are others! My December cruise has $250 right now but I have another $100 coming. @Biker19might know of other ways to get OBC to apply towards planner purchases.

I am shocked at the prices for cruises in 2023!
dada2199cc replied to oldmom's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I run reports like this a few times a month just to see pricing on my preferred airline, after 5pm, nonstop, to popular cruise destinations, one-way and that helps me try to figure out when it makes sense to cruise. The airlines already know the hot weeks a year in advance, so it helps me plan better. $173 per person each way is decent. $399 is ridiculous ($1600 round trip for 2!) -

dada2199cc replied to oldmom's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Yeah it's not a big deal to me -- COVID more than doubled my income, so I expect prices to go up. I normally book F if I fly with a partner, family or friend, but I have so many SWUs that I just book into Y and hope for upgrade space. ORD-MIA in F has been really expensive but there are so many seats open T-100. -

A bunch of my flights for next year's cruising season are over $600 r/t pp. Even booking 330 days out! I just booked a cruise for July 2024 -- I'm fearful for what those prices are going to be. Probably more than the cruise itself! -

Cows eat grass and turn it into butter, cream and meat. Do you refuse to eat that, too? Grass is covered in feces.
