  1. And now the food. Rojaan began with the mushroom and cheese turnover whilst I had the curried cauliflower. Both were nice. I then had the baked polenta with mushroom and gorganzola cream sauce. Delicious. For mains Rojaan had the salmon Amiyaki Gohan which she loved and I once more went for the fillet. And for desserts we both had the eclair. One of the better Silversea offerings for dessert. I woke up during the night on our way to Sicily and saw this - Probably a ferry from Sicily.
  2. A drink in the Panorama lounge. Going through the list of cocktails. Not sure what this one was. And once more to Atlantide. The Daily menu plus a few changes to the basic menu. The wines for the night.
  3. Didn't have to wait long as a tender was just about to depart for the ship so met Rojaan at Kaiseki for the usual lunch choices. Then some shots from our balcony as the sun was now behind us. With Vesuvius and Naples now easily seen.
  4. Next walked down to the cliff top with some good looking hotels.
  5. Though this church was now an artist's workshop.
  6. It was amazing how many churches there were in the old city which I have now gone back to.
  7. Crossed one of the gorges that runs through the town A lemon orchard in the city.
  8. You could sign up for a pizza making school. And for home sick Brits an English fish and chip shop. I wasn't tempted.
  9. A fish market. Lots of fruit and veggies particularly lemons.
  10. The last picture was of the nun the church is named after. Then back to the narrow streets.
  11. The first tour on it's way to Pompei. About 1030 I went into town for a walk. Wandered around the old town with it's narrow streets. Lots of people and motorcycles which didn't care that they were not allowed in some pedestrian only spots. Though the biggest problem in those places were electric bikes and scooters which you don't hear coming with many of the users going at high speeds. Sorry but they should be banned from those areas. So now a pictorial of my wandering. I went up the stairs rather than catching the shuttle. Need to burn off some of those excess calories. You come out in a little square. Had to fight my way through a couple of large groups of school kids on excursion. So went into the church and forgot to remove my cap. An old nun was doing some tidying up and gave me a look that I am sure was meant to kill. Quickly removed the offending cap.
  12. The next day we left Naples at 5am and reached Sorrento about 8am. Some scenes as we approached our anchoring spot. The first tender heads to shore.
  13. So that night it was a change to the Pool grille and Hot Rocks. Rojaan decided to go again with the lamb cutlets as she loves them but only cooked well done. So she likes being in charge of the cooking. I went for the signature dish with a range of meat and fish choices. I just wanted ton try it but once is enough and I will go back to the fillet steak next time. We did have deserts tonight, Fresh fruit and coconut icecream for Rojjan and cheesecake with pistachio icecream for me.
  14. Well it appears that it is officially restarting fleet wide. We got the invitation on the door today and dining with the Captain tomorrow. In fact it has been an incredible day today. Yesterday my travel computer gave up. It appears that the problem was with Windows. It is running on Windows 8 for which support ceased recently hence I thought it was terminal but Rudy the IT manager on the Moon has got it going again so my Cruise report will restart tomorrow. Not perfect as it will not remember passwords so having to log in all the time but at least I can now download and resize my photos again. I had already decided I would buy a new travel computer before my next trip. I did bring an external hard drive this time so my photos had been saved. Won again at trivia with nearly a perfect score of 19.5. And played terribly at golf but everyone else played worse. Maximum score is 15 over 3 holes but I won with 13. Then dinner at Atlantide. We walked into the place and the Assistant Maitre'D just turned to one of the waiters and said take them to Table 35 - which is looked after by Rojaan's favourite waiter Therarith. Next the Sommelier Karolina comes over and has a talk to us and ends by telling me she is bringing me a mystery wine. One taste and I felt it was a Chilean Carminere. So told her it was definitely a South American wine from Chile so she gave up and showed me it was a carminere. Left the bottle on the table. Next the restaurant Manager came to talk to us and I told him the problems booking Silver Note and the times offered and we really couldn't start dining at 9pm. An 8pm slot now booked. So IMHO the service at Silversea is even better than it was pre covid.
  15. Thanks for noticing Rachel. I finally retired at the end of February 2022 and decided I needed to look after myself better. Lost 25 KG (55lb) and certainly feel better. And thank you to the person on the whisper who alerted the entertainers on the Moon that I had posted pictures of their Queen performance on CC. My popularity has soared.
  16. For anyone interested in flights over Antarctica this site lists them. Can be sold through Qantas as well but most are charters. https://www.antarcticaflights.com.au/
  17. They have not restarted yet at least on the Moon. As reported it is under consideration to be reinstated fleet wide. We have another month on the Moon and I doubt we will see it.
  18. When a member of the senior crew invites guests to share a meal with them. Might be the Captain or as on 1 cruise the ship's Engineer which was a very interesting night. On SS you would receive an envelope at your door with the invitation.
