Thanks, glad you are enjoying the review.
The Red Frog Pub is between the casino and the dance club, almost in the center of the ship on deck five. Be sure to say Hi to Melonie for us! :)
Thank you and we'll be sure to see Melonie for you!

I'm lovin' your review and photos!!! We're on the Freedom in three weeks and are anxious to see the upgrades. Your photos are awesome!!!
One question...where is the Red Frog Pub located?
I cannot wait for Margaritas at the Blue Iguana either!!!
-
Part of the upper deck was closed near the serenity deck and they were doing doing some deck repairs around the walking track. I talked with one of the officers and the plumbing for the pools and hot tubs will be replaced soon. He said they will be closed for most of one of the 6 day cruises comming up soon.
The Freedom was always a good ship, the last Conquest ship built. It is just better now. I think they could of used another week in drydock to finish the referb.
I hope the "refurbishing" is completed by June 22. I cannot imagine cruising without pools and hot tubs in working order.

Wonderful review!!! I cannot wait to visit the Red Frog Pub. Did you go to the Blue Iguana? I'll be on the Freedom in June and am anxious to see all the upgrades.
Loved seeing your pictures - looks like you had a fabulous cruise. Thanks for sharing!!

For some strange reason, my husband's letter was sent to our son's address. Good thing he opened it up - took a picture of it - and sent it to me - we wouldn't have known that he was offered a free cabin either. I went into his VIFP number and checked out special offers, and for sure, he had a free cabin! I'm Platinum...he's not. The first line of the letter read...We want to invite you back on board Carnival with an exclusive offer.
We hadn't cruised for two years, although I was cruising the next week...so we bit and booked an 8-day cruise out of FLL on the Freedom.
Balcony cabin for two on an 8-day cruise was cheaper than my fare for an inside cabin on the 5-day Victory cruise I just got off.

We are looking at the 5 night cruise to Nassau (boo), HMC, and Grand Turk.
Thanks for the website recommendation. Lots of pictures! :)
Just got back from this cruise (third time on Victory - and booked the same itinerary and ship for next February). The Victory is a good sized ship - doesn't seem crowded - and the Main Dining Room meals were delicious. We've always enjoyed the Aft pool section (which use to be an adult only pool), but now is open to all, so that took a little getting use to with kids jumping and cannon balling around. There is the adult Serenity section, but no pool and much "hotter" on the top deck.
The Victory was our first Carnival cruise and my Platinum cruise, so she holds a special place in my "cruise" heart. :D
HMC is absolutely lovely!

not in our case, don't think we've ever had a S&S over $300
left CCL in a huff:oover changes to the past guest program. I did write a letter of complaint, I didn't receive the offer.;)
what's odd is 'ours' came in DH's name & he had never even set up his online VIP account:confused: All his past cruises did appear once I set up an account yesterday though and I could see all the promos he qualified. I had squat in my name:rolleyes:.
I am absolutely thrilled to have saved over $2,400 on lowest rate we qualified - 8 night in balcony on the Sunshine. Not sure what i'll do to occupy myself on 4 sea days but will muddle through.:D
Our letter came in my husband's name too. I'm the one with the online account and always book the cruises...(He rides on my coattails:D) I'm Platinum, he's not. Guess they want him back!

I am in the process of searching for a Pearl Harbor tour myself, one that picks up from the hotel. I did read Pearl Harbor Tours website, but can't get any info about them. However, Discover Hawaii, Discover Hidden Hawaii (same as Discover Hawaii, but offer different tours) and ENOA all offer PH tours. I also ran across a company called Roberts Hawaii. All of them have reviews on tripadvisor.com. ENOA offers a discount for AAA, AARP and I think a monthly discount and it said you could combine two. I think I also read something about a tour called Stars and Stripes, but not sure on that one. Hope that helps.
Thank you for all the info!!

Oops - double post

Where do you want to go? If it's Pearl Harbor, that's free except for transportation there. You can book a time on-line.
This tour company picks us up at our hotel and does a whole day tour of everything - Pearl Harbor, USS Arizona, USS Missouri, USS Bowfin, National Cemetery and tour of Honolulu. Just wondering if any other CC members had used this company before and if it would be a good tour.
We don't want to miss a thing!

I am looking at the all-day tour with Pearl Harbor Tours. Have any other CC members used this company? Any tips would be appreciated - pro or con. Thanks for helping us make an informed decision.

Pics taken while there...
Thanks for sharing the pics! We'll be in GT in February.
-
Thank you for the wealth of information!!! I'll be sharing these tips with my friends for our cruise.

MalervyC,
Congratulations to your and your hubby on your recent marriage. May you have a wonderful life together!
Thank you for your detailed review. We will be sailing on the POA in ten months and your details are helping us make informed decisions for our first trip to Hawaii. I've printed your review so I can highlight "likes" and compare notes. We are traveling with two other couples and have discussed renting a vehicle and exploring on our own as well.
With our connecting flight from Maine to Newark, we chose to have a connection in San Francisco to stretch our legs before the last leg of our journey. I know my hubby wouldn't be able to fly non-stop for that length of time.
Thanks again for your informational review!

Binoculars
in Alaska
...thanks for your information on the binoculars. I don't know a thing about them and wanted to get a pair for my DH for our upcoming Alaska cruise. Ordered right from Amazon for a good price.
Thanks!

Oh my - hubby and I have been cracking up reading this thread. It certainly takes all kinds to make the world go round.
Shocking thing that we experienced...
...got all ready for elegant night, came out our cabin door and got knocked over by the smell from someone having "dumped" right outside our door. NASTY!!! Ignorant people!
-
Oh my, I have a red star by my name.
Pretty sure it's because I'm the one that contacted Carnival and booked our group cruise. Guess I'm the "go-to" girl. :p
-
I love looking at all these pictures over and over. It adds to the excitement of future cruises.
I have one "shocking" photo that cannot be posted for fear of being banned from CC (on our Freedom cruise, someone defecated themselves outside our cabin door - disgusting - but I had to take a photo for proof - house cleaning was shocked). But here's a couple fun ones!
My grandson at the Turtle Farm in Grand Cayman.
Carnival Liberty in St. Thomas, view from the Sky Ride.
My "sistas" and I outside Jen's Cafe in St. Thomas (yummy VooDoo juice)
rumors about Jamaica ???

Falmouth, Jamaica is listed as a port of calling on some cruises - maybe there's a switch going on :)
