  1. I found from a previous thread last year that I have to login as you have done onto 'my reservation' to the screen where you cannot access your booking but it shows your reservation - keeping logged in on this screen! and then open a new tab - use this link. I keep this link on my favourites.

    https://secure.azamaraclubcruises.com/dc/myAccount/customizeCruise.do?cS=SIDENAV

By Azamazing process you can then press the select booking against your reservation and view, add shore excursions etc. The Azamara website really is a work of art!

Also, on this link you can download PDF brochure without login to your booking.

Think there should be a CC sticky with handy hints.

  2. We had the same decision for the same cruise and dates and chose The Journey over the Millennium, although when we booked nearly 20 months ago the price difference for a Balcony room on both of the ships the difference was only around £650pp (excluding the gratuities and drinks package on the Millennium, where as gratuities and drinks included on Azamara).

What swayed me to opt for Azamara was the CC reviews of the Millennium (and even more so now those reviews are not that good from this last season sailing in Asia) also the point of docking in the cities was a major decision factor in Bangkok and HCMC. If you have cruised the Mediterranean or Northern Europe then these Asian ports themselves are very different from those in Europe and nearly all will require a quality excursion to get the the best from them, (apart from HK and Singapore where you can access the city on local transport and be more independent) the ports are not destinations but access points for further travel and by choosing Azamara we felt the transfer times at the ports and time involved when getting guests on/off the ship each day was a major factor. Only you can decide what factors would provide for a more enjoyable experience....hope to see you on the roll-call for Azamara! oh and the Celebrity cruise is 12 nights as opposed to 13 nights on Azamara!!

  3. Bonnie,

We like many are really pleased with Azamara having this trial period with the wine choice. Hope the current guests give positive feedback. As the % number feeding back is just on one cruise then I expect this feedback wouldn't be that many - will they trial it for longer that this cruise? Hope that it works well for the waiting on staff, back of house teams too...bearing in mind if they can manage remembering what is complimentary liqueur and the complimentary cocktails ingredients etc and what is extra then this should be a walk in the park!

Hope this choice continues and that many CC guests keep up with this thread.

  4. Last few years and this year they have fortunately used the San Basilio dock which is on the Guidecca Canal. No cruise ship fits up the Grand Canal. It is the Guidecca Canal, a fantastic busy waterway with lots to see and sail in and out really is the highlight of any cruise, passing all the major sights. There is a video on You tube showing Azamara Quest taken from near St Marks. Enjoy!

Azamara usually announce if they are using this dock as it is a good selling point for them.

  5. We have a one and half day stay on our forthcoming Azamara cruise and on the full day we intend on booking a full day cruise around Halong Bay. For the second morning we would like to walk up Bai Tho mountain to take in the fab views of the bay (the photos look great!) and also visit the Long Tien Temple however, as we expect the shuttle or tender will run into Bay Chai on the 'left' hand side of the bay, there is the main Bay Chai bridge spanning across to Hon Gai on the 'right' hand side of the bridge....are taxis readily available from Bai Chai for such a short journey and how much roughly would one cost (don't want to get stung/ripped off!) I know it isn't safe to walk over the bridge.

  6. Just had my travel agent check with Azamara as our cruise has been reduced based on the current balcony upgrade which would have discounted our price by around £550 for two. They will not reduce the price unless we cancel with deposit loss and rebook. As it is I am happy with my stateroom choice and travel agent discount which at a % would have been reduced anyway. So UK guests don't get the guarantee.

  7. I am presently aboard Journey and the unlimited wifi package is priced at $399 for this 16-day voyage.

Thanks for the info. Is the WiFi any speedier? Enjoy your cruise!

  8. Found this on Azamara UK, does this apply to all cruises, doesnt mention duration?

    LIKE

Unlimited Internet for one device ($270 USD value)

Land Discoveries onboard credit of $200 USD per person/ $400 USD per stateroom

Premium Liquor Package ($15.95 USD per person/per day)

Wine and cheese tasting for two ($50 USD value)

    Value of $1,000 USD/stateroom but you pay just $700 USD—that's a savings of 30%!

  9. I was looking at unlimited wifi and also looked at adding the 'Like' package (which inc unlimited wifi for one device) to my booking. Any ideas of pricing for the 'Like' package for a 13 night Dec cruise? Also, is the speed much faster on Journey now following the upgrade of the system or are they still tweaking it!?

  10. Many thanks Bonnie, yes something is not correct. I shall get an email to Richard.

    * I was looking at booking a 4nt pre-cruise in HK, Azamara told my agent they will not sell that many nights! Their rates online are quite favourable too.

*I was also looking at booking the Orchard for 1nt Singapore post cruise, at Azamara.co.uk this is 99.41 + £44.39 optional transfer for two people (did check!!) however they tell me that is not available to me only to a la carte guests (never heard of this!!) cheapest hotel they have over the phone for my agent to add is the Swissotel which is £282 inc transfers from the ship to hotel. The rate on the system is £170 + £41 transfers. All rates in GBP and for two persons occupying a room.

    Confusing!!

  11. We have an Asia cruise booked for winter on the Journey. Why is it if I go and do a 'dummy' cruise booking via Azamara.co.uk and add pre and post cruise hotels to the dummy booking the rates are quite favourable (I am also able to add transfers too) yet when my TA is contacting Azamara to apply the rates to my booking which was made in May 2015 they quote me unrealistic prices that are around 70% more and tell me that some of the hotels rates for 'al carte' customers only...absolute useless calling them. Their airfare also for UK guests are around £900 more person too! I am now getting the TA to 'bond' the airfares with the cruise and hotels themselves and I am just paying £20 for this for the whole booking.

  12. Our port time on our December cruise for the 16 Dec visit to Ho Chi Minh City has been reduced to a departure at 4pm instead of 5 (I expect this may be due to tidal or river conditions), however we had booked a private tour to take in the Mekong Delta, due to the reduced time I am now considering a Land Discoveries tour to the Delta with Azamara, have any members done this tour this last season?

The tour we had booked was more off the beaten track and didn't look as 'tourist' driven, any comments regarding group numbers, quality of guide etc much appreciated.

Just noticed too that Ko Samui has been reduced to a 2.30pm departure instead of a 4.00pm departure, although we gain one hour in Bangkok!

  13. AJCM thank you for this info, did you do any of the Azamara trips at De Nang, I was particularly looking at the bicycle tour and Hoi An. We are on the Dec 2016 tour which is the same itinerary as which you travelled on.
