Tonight was the first night for the Punchliner Comedy Club. I went to the 11:15 pm show of Macio, and the midnight show of Happy Cole. Both of them were really funny. On my last Valor cruise, you would have to leave and reenter the Eagles Lounge after every show. They don't make you do this any more. It's kind of nice because you get to keep your seat, but it's not so nice when you come in 20 minutes early and can't find one. The Eagles Lounge was PACKED! I don't know why Carnival doesn't have these shows in the main theater.

I hope Happy Cole is still there in July. He was on the Victory in October. He's the one that was on stage when I entered the comedy show late after my dinner at Chef's Table. His head was turned when I walked in, but the laughter and claps from everyone else made him turn around. And I was wondering why people were laughing and clapping when I made it to the table to sit down. Was Macio the cute white guy with the bald head? I can't remember the other comedian's name that was on the ship. There was an older black guy and a somewhat pudgy white guy on there too, but they were getting off.

I headed back to my room around dark thirty o'clock.

LOL...too funny....dark thirty. That's how I was on my very first cruise. When I'd get back to the room..the only way I knew it was sunlight was from the port window. My friend and I closed the club every night!

Next installment: How I became famous on the ship! :o

Oh oh, what did you do? LOL:rolleyes: As long as you aren't the Debra of my 2011 cruise, I think you'll be fine. The CD and everyone else remembered her.

  2. Hi Party Animal! Love that name. :D The ACD you're referring to is Everson. No, he's not on the Valor any more. I asked and was told he's on the Magic, but I'm not sure how true that is. He was a lot of fun on my last Valor cruise, and mighty nice to admire from a distance as well! :p

I was told that he's now on the Glory. If he's on the Magic...he's in my backyard...for that...I would need a roommate...Magic is expensive for a solo person. And though I've spent that for all-inclusive land vacations...airfare was included too.

  3. What does subscribed mean? I see people posting this? Let me know what and how you are subscribing to, how to do it? I've really enjoyed reading Gapearl's reviews, looking at her pictures etc. We are going to be on the Valor June 30th, this will be our third cruise with this itinerary. First time on carnival valor, 2 previous cruises were on the Victory. You tell the best story, post the neatest pictures. You truly have a gift for this, maybe you should be a travel writer? We are staying at the Marriott Stellaris on Condado beach. We are arriving on Thursday so we can spend a couple days in San Juan before the cruise. I've taken notes from your review, can't wait to try some of these restaurants/bars/gasolina etc! haha You sure know how to have a good time! Your thorough reviews and posts must take you forever. I have no idea how to post a picture on here. I'm lucky to hit the reply buttons! Keep it up, most enjoyable.

It was here that I discovered the gasolina drink. Nope, this isn't a Capri Sun. It's alcohol. Even better is the fact that it's only $2. At that price, give me a case! There are 5 different flavors. There's a little straw on the inside and you can drink it straight from the pouch, but a classy lady like myself chose to take my $2 drink on ice. :p

Rum, tequila, passion fruit and other juices.

Girl, you're a mess. I would have been unclassy. LOL. But after seeing a post on FB about Capri Sun, I probably would have done the same thing...if I were brave enough to try it. That drink sounds good though!

  5. The Capitol building.

Random thought- If Puerto Rico eventually becomes a state, where will the 51st star go on the flag?

    Girl, you're stupid...in a good way...but you do have a point.:p

Why does it look like he's pointing the middle finger? LOL:eek::p:D

Speaking of Puerto Rico becoming a state, I encourage those of you taking this cruise in the near future to ask the locals at your hotel, restaurant, taxi drivers, etc. what they think about it. I think I've asked 20 people and have gotten 20 different answers. Some will say yes, I'm all for it, and some will say no, I don't want it. I'm big on talking to people and learning about them and their lifestyle when I travel. I recommend everyone doing that. You can really learn a lot.

Yeah, some people were gung ho for it and others not so much. They want to be independent, but then they'd lose the money the US is sending to them and would be worse off than they already are.

  6.

I warned you about the humor and sarcasm at the very beginning! :p Have fun on your cruise! You're gonna have a blast! Be social and you'll meet plenty of people. They normally seat solo cruisers together so you'll meet more people that way too.

By the way, I bought some of that Cockspur rum and rum punch you told me about! Oh man that stuff was strong!

LOL. I told you it would put hair on your chest! I wasn't ready. I still have my unopened bottle of the Cockspur Rum Punch. Sometimes I'm a social butterfly and other times I'm so shy, but I didn't spend good $$$ to be shy...I'm going to be footloose and fancy free! :D

  7. I've subscribed and can't wait for more. I'm glad I had already swallowed my food when I read your post about you thanking God that you knew Jesus. Girl, I hollered!

And I was there in October and it was hot as hell (or what I think hell would feel like)...and now I'll be there in July...good Lord, what was I thinking?:confused::eek:

And I'm doing my first solo cruise!!!!!!

  8. LOL we're too much alike. :p

You're headed to the Mediterranean in October? Are you canceling the Breeze?

By the way, I skimmed through your Victory review. Do you remember the name of the rum you bought in Barbados?

No, I had to cancel the Mediterranean for October; I'm now booked on the Breeze for the same month, just towards the end of the month now.

I purchased Cockspur Rum Punch for myself and I want to say I purchased the actual rum for my friend. I think it was the same brand; Cockspur.

    Girl, I attract foreign men.

And thank you for somewhat reading my review. :p I was going to post pictures, but then I saw that was too much of a headache...especially after I got an error on the first attempt.

  9.

I know! :D I never had an empty glass thanks to them! ;) They even taught me a little bit of Arabic.

I hope you get to make it to the Mediterranean one day as well. It's so beautiful. I'd recommend early fall, as it was still pretty hot our first few days in Rome. I wouldn't want to be doing the amount of walking we did in the summer heat.

As for the riddle, you can add 1 number....anywhere. Add a 1 to the top left corner of the first + sign, turning 5+5 into 545. Imagine that.

The gift was the cd DJ Dr@gon gave me the last night.

Thanks for reading! I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)

I'd learn Arabic for them. LOL. Let me stop...I'm being so bad and making myself look thirsty. LOL We were going in October...I think that was one of the better months to go...I think.

Ok, I would have never figured that riddle out. That was amazing. And duh, I should have known that was the gift. For some odd reason I kept thinking something was delivered to your cabin.

  10. Your review was awesome! It was like I was on this cruise with you. I had a 9 day Med cruise on Carnival booked, but had to switch it to a Caribbean cruise.

Hopefully I get to go in 2015 because 2014 is already booked. I'm glad you had a wonderful cruise.

But I was waiting on the answer to your riddle that was given to you. How did 5+5+5 = 550?

And what was your gift at the end of the cruise?

  11. I was there in October 2011. Jack didn't seem to friendly, there was a weird vibe I was getting from him. His wife Janet was sweet. I had the jerk chicken and can't remember what drinks were ordered, but I wasn't that impressed with the drinks. The jerk chicken was good though.

I think what made Jack's fun that particular day was the fact that so many people were celebrating birthdays and one guy had a cake and banner for all of the Libras.

I'll be in GT this October (2013), but will not head to Jack's. I'll try the establishment I passed up to get to Jack's.
